Pages I don't want

Hello Friends,
A few days ago, I set up my wordpress site and everything is great so far, there's just one small problem. Wenn I search for site:mysite.com I see a lot of pages in the index I don't want to have on my site. It looks like demo pages from the theme I bought. Examples:
http://mysite.com/themefusion_es_groups/group1/
http://mysite.com/slide/youtube/
http://mysite.com/lorem-ipsum-2/
http://mysite.com/slide/demo-5
What would be the best way to handle it? Simply delete the pages, then a soft 404 shows. Delete the pages and 301 them to the start page. Are they disapearing from the infex then?
I am very grateful for tips regarding this!

Delete the pages and if they are still showing up in Google's index 301 redirect them to home.

Generally I just delete these type of pages and let them go away over time naturally. I can't imagine Google would prefer any other way. They're junk & it shouldn't hurt to remove junk from your site.

Web designer doesn't see duplicate pages or issues??? Help!

Where to position a new page?

Our website is about a particular region in Italy, the Langhe area, famous for food and wine (barolo and barbaresco are produced here). We need to rollout a few new pages about cellar/winery tours: one main page with the list of tours, and the various subpages for each tour. We already have a page about travel, and a page about wine (with a sub-page about wineries). The URLs looks like:
langhe.net/travel/
langhe.net/wine/wineries/
(Note: i'm translating from italian here) Now, I'm wondering where is better to position the new pages:
langhe.net/travel/winery-tours/name-of-tour/ or
langhe.net/wine/wineries/tours/name-of-tour/ From an SEO perspective (within my limited experience) the first option has a shorter URL, but the second feels more "natural" to me. What do you think? Thanks 🙂

On Brand Queries Google does not shows my home page first instead of it shows internal pages.
Also on my brand query it doesn't shows sitelinks. What may be the reason?

Hiding body copy with a 'read more' button
Hi Whats the consequences of hiding half of the lovingly crafted body copy/written content (good quality modern version of what we used to call seo text) i have written for a clients main site sections and then having a 'read more' button to reveal ? I have written 500+ words for each page but client wants to reduce word count displayed since thinks looks too 'wordy'! I know that this is possible and used to be fine if done in a manner that was still crawlable, is this still the case ? Cheers Dan

Page Analysis - Helping Product Pages Outrank Search Results Pages
Hi! We have a lot of our search results pages that have been indexed and outrank our product pages and in some instance the actual product pages barely show up at all. Here is an example query that includes our brand name: http://goo.gl/cgB6W So, we have loads of actual product pages, video pages, etc that should be showing up here, but are not and this is just one example. Unfortunately, there are a LOT of these Search Results pages out there and utlimately we would love to de-index them altogether, but it's going to have to be carefully done. So, was wondering if anyone would want to check out one of our product pages and give any feedback as to what we could change to possibly improve rank or to make them more search friendly or hopefully to help them rise above these indexed search results pages? 20 x '400' errors in site but URLs work fine in browser...
