Black Seo --> Attack
-
Hello there,
Happy new year for everyone, and good luck this year.
I have a real problem here, I saw in MOZ link history that somehow the "Total Linking Root Domains" is growing from a medium of 30 - 40 to 240 - 340 links and keep it growing. I guess somebody make me good joke, cause i did not buy any link :)) even cn, brasil, jp links, my store is from Romania.
How I can block these links I think google will make me bad instead. What should i do?
Thank you so much.
With respect,
Andrei -
Hello all, and thank you for answers.
I disavow the links (500), but no effects, still. 3 Months passed. Nothing, I am still "banned", if i can say so.
Anyway for unserious players (Seo), this will become a precedent situation. So if you want to "kick" the competition just buy them 500 - 1000 links, and you should be 1st position. Google must pay attention to this kinds of shits. Really now :))
With respect,
Andrei -
If you had no part in making them Google says you should be fine to ignore them. But, if you want to be sure, it's not a bad idea to comb through them and disavow on the domain level.
There is info in here that may help:

You may also want to have a good look for malware if you are seeing a sudden increase in links to your site. Sometimes a Google search for site:yoursite.com viagra | cialis | loans can help.

'Neatza Andrei,
First of all, try to monitor new backlinks for the website, where are they coming from, what type of links are coming in to your website. Are all of these links low quality?
I'd use Majestic for this problem (they identify new links way faster than Moz), so you can export raw data, analyize and create a disavow file for the low quality links.

Hi Andrei
You should definitely disavow these links if you suspect them to be bad or dodgy links. A very substantial guide on how to do so can be found here http://moz.com/blog/guide-to-googles-disavow-tool
This will help you avoid getting penalised by google.
Regards

What is the proper URL length? in seo
i learned that having 50 to 60 words in a url is ok and having less words is preferable by google. but i would like to know that as i am gonna include keywords in the urls and i am afraid it will increase the length. is it gonna slighlty gonna hurt me? my competitors have 8 characters domain url and keywords length of 13 and my site has 15 character domain url and keywords length of 13 which one will be prefered by google.

How do I deal with Negative SEO (Spammy Links)?
For the past 12 months, our website has been hit by spammy links with annoying anchor text. We suspected one of our competitor are deploying negative SEO on us. The image is an example of the sites and anchor text we have been spammed with. The frequency is about 1 - 2 spammy links a day. I have a few questions from here onwards: Does those links affect our SEO? (Most are mainly nofollow) Other than disavow, what other stuff can I do? How will google and other search engines see this incident? TcmFsti

Spamlink attack wat to do
Since today we had a spamlink attack. Just 150 dirty links in one morning and probably more to follow. Last year we also had an attack and we used the disalow. But this domain had a much stronger histrory and a PR of 6. The new domain has an authority (DA36) and PR1. The domain is very valuable and we rank on page on one of the most competitive words. Should I use the disalow tool, or just hope that the spam links don't hurt my ranking. I have some (150) valuable incoming links. Example of bad link: http://lamevabarcelona.com/una-exposicio-ens-guia-per-barcelona/dscn0756/ I think X Rumer/ pingback is used. I hope somebody can help us with this.

SEO expert advice needed :)
So I have a niche site that I'm pretty sure has received an over-optimization penalty. This was about nine months ago or so. I haven’t really done much with the site since however I’d like the site to start appearing in the serps again, as I am adding fresh content and trying to create a really useful resource. I don't appear in the serps for any keywords related to my niche anymore. The site IS still indexed though. I didn't get any messages telling me that I was penalized so I don't think it was manual. I didn't use any spam or anything like that but I believe the penalty was probably for anchor text over-optimization and/or too many links to non-home page urls in comparison to the total amount of links the site had. I know removing these links or changing the anchor can help but the thing is the site only has about 30 total linking root domains pointed at it. So I was wondering if I could just add more links to other pages/the home page and add more links with varied anchors/naked urls to change the ratios and make it appear more natural. Now, would/could this fix my penalty? I am frustrated that I even received a penalty at all because much of my competition is ranking for fairly competitive terms with no real solid links pointed at their site and tons of comment spam. I have some relevant links/quality links so I am hoping that fixing this penalty could help put me back where I was before I got knocked into oblivion. There is one example of a competitor with a PR0 site getting good traffic and ranking for some nice keywords with only a bunch of self-set up web properties (and some comment spam) containing one only page for the purpose of linking back to their money site (blogspot, wordpress, weebly, mywebstarts ect). On top of that a lot of the sites I'm competing again are MFA, garbage sites that are written by non-native English speakers that offer zero value to the visitor. I need to start out ranking these spammers again. What should I do? thanks!

Vendor Descriptions for SEO... Troublesome?
Howdy! I have been tossing this idea around in my head over the weekend and I cannot decide which answer is correct, so here I am! We a retailer of products and is currently in the midst of redesigning our site-- not only design but also content. The issue that we are facing is with product descriptions from our vendors. We are able to access the product descriptions/specs from their websites and use them on ours, but my worry is that we will get tagged for duplicate content. Other retailers (as well as the vendors) are using this content as well, so I don't want this to have an adverse effect on our ranking. There are so many products that it would be a large feat to re-write unique content-- not to mention that the majority of the rhetoric would be extremely similar. What have you seen in your experiences in similar situations? Is it bad to use the descriptions? Or do we need to bite the bullet and do our best to re-write hundreds of product descriptions? Or is there a way to use the descriptions and tag it in a way that won't have Google penalize us? I originally thought that if we have enough other unique content on our site, that it shouldn't be as big of a deal, but then I realized how much of our site's structure is our actual products. Thanks in advance!
