No Index Meta

Good Morning,
So the company who redesigned our website forgot to take off any of the no-index stuff that was put onto the site once it went live. I removed everything in the robots.txt and the privacy settings in wordpress but I am still seeing
Any suggestions on changing this or if its even necessary to change would be great! Thank you

I think i got it taken care of, I'm not entirely where the problem lied, I think it was a combo of all of the above, but as for right now, it looks like everything is ok.... but it seemed to just sorta vanish all of the sudden....
I also alerted the dev team at the design studio, so I have a feeling they may have made a change that did it... but at least it seems ok.

Was this fixed? I didn't see that tag on the home page in the source code any longer.

Odds are the errant meta robots tag is in header.php. You should be able to find the file in the back end under Appearance/Editor. With that said, be very careful - make a backup if you must 'cowboy code'- then work with a text editor (Sublime, Komodo, Notepad++, Notepad, etc.) to copy and paste your work.

In the WordPress dashboard, go to Settings > Reading.
Find "Search Engine Visibility." Is "Discourage search engines from indexing this site" checked? If so, uncheck it.

Yes, I am using Yoast, I looked through that as well... But nothing stood out...

Sorry to hear that your web developer forgot a fundamental part of pushing a website live - and such an important piece of the process too (if you want to be listed in the search engines)!
Are you using any specific WP SEO plugins, such as Yoast SEO? It could be applying the noindex tag to specific pages.
You're on the right track by updating your robots.txt and general WP settings, now I would look into specific plugins.

Redirecting all URLs appended with index.htm or index.html
It has come to my attention with one of my clients (WordPress website) that for some time they have within their Landing Page report (of GA - Google Analytics) URLs that should all be pointing to the one page, example: domain.com/about-us, also has a listing in GA as domain.com/about-us/index.htm Is this some kind of indication of a subdirectory issue? Has anyone had experience with this in such wordpress plugins as Yoast SEO, or other SEO plugin? My thoughts here are to simply redirect any of these non-existent files with a redirect in .htaccess - but what I'm using isn't working. Why only a few pages of my website are being indexed by google
Our website www.navisyachts.com has in its sitemap over 3000 pages of information, and this is all unique content written by our team. Now Google Webmaster central shows only 100 urls indexed from 3500 submitted. Can you help me understand why and how I can fix this issue? The website has 4 years old, is a Joomla 3.3 up to date. It has part of the content in the Joomla core content systems and part in K2. Thank you. Pablo

Actually, We have submitted more than 100 pages in to google through xml sitemap. But, we see in that 75% of the pages where indexed by google. Note : Excluding the duplicate pages

Good day to all! I am very confuse about results on seomoz Crawl Diagnostics Summary, especially with 6 Crawl Warnings Found. It says title too short: http://villasdiani.com/category/mombasa/, http://villasdiani.com/category/watamu/ , http://villasdiani.com/sitemap/ why would Google punish me for this??? why should I make longer title for sitemap? or Watamu? It is the name of the place - Watamu or Mombasa. It is very confusing for me. Why Webmasters Tools verification meta tags change??
Why do these keep changing for sites that I have verfied over and over and over and over? About a month goes by and the meta code has changed and the site is unverified again. Seems like a trick to force you into logging into Webmaster Tools all the time. What gives???

Is Google Webmaster Tools Index Status Completely Correct?
So I was thrilled when Webmaster tools released the little graph telling you how many pages are indexed. However, I noticed with one of my sites, that it was actually going down over the past year. I've only been doing the SEO on the site for a few months, so it wasn't anything I did. The chart is attached to this post. Now here's the funny part. I haven't really noticed anything out of the ordinary for keyword ranking dropping off. I also tested my most recent page that I put up. 3 days after I posted it, I could find it in a Google search. Shouldn't this mean that's it's indexed? I can also find any other page I've posted in the last few months. Another oddity is that I submitted a sitemap a while ago when the site was only 22 pages. The sitemap index count says 20 of those pages are indexed. The chart only says that there are 3 indexed pages right now. However, I can clearly find dozens of pages in Google searches. Is there something I'm missing? Is my chart for this website broken? Should I report this to Google? Has anyone had a similar issue? decreaseIndex.png
