Dynamic websites & SEO
-
Hello Mozzers,
I would love some advise from some seasoned SEO people PLEASE.
The company I work for are replacing their static website for a new dynamic website which affectedly serves blocks of generic content based on the users activity.
Currently we rank really well, especially for local long tail terms - however I am very unsure and apprehensive as to how this new approach will affect our rankings.
Can Google index content pulled together on the "fly"?
Can anyone recommend an article, website, white paper - explaining how to limit the change to SEO?
Kind regards
Ben

Understood. Just post more details as you learn them, and I'll do my best to address any issues.

Thank you for your quick reply Laura. When I know more over the coming week I will come back to you (if you don't mind).
All I really know at this stage is of our complete change of approach - and I am super concerned we will drop off SERPs and our lead gen will be "hammered".
90% of our leads come from organic.
Thanks again.

Yes, Google can index dynamic content. Whether or not this will affect search performance depends on multiple factors.
- What platform is being used?
- How are URLs affected?
- Are the blocks of content creating a duplicate content issue?
- Is it possible to optimize the title tags and other on-page factors with that kind of variable content?
- Is content hidden on the page and then revealed based on user activity?
- Will you be able to set up canonical tags?
With more information, I might be able to point you in the right direction.

Should local businesses focus exclusively on a local SEO strategy (and forget traditional SEO)?
Hello Friends! I work at a small, local company. We definitely want to rank high for local search , so we see the value of having a local SEO strategy. But does it make sense for us to also invest in a traditional SEO strategy? My understanding is that a traditional SEO strategy is focused on improving your site's visibility on a national or international scale. Does this make sense for my company if only local customers convert? If we had unlimited time and resources, I'd be all for a traditional SEO strategy. I understand that the more traffic, backlinks, etc. my site generates from producing relevant content, the higher my ranking. But my company has to be very strategic about where we spend our time since our resources are limited. So...How much can or does a traditional SEO strategy impact local search results? I'd hate to spend the time writing a beautiful SEO-optimized blog on dog grooming, for example, if that effort won't impact my SERP ranking when someone in my area searches for "dog grooming near me." I'd love to hear your thoughts!

How to go about SEO when the content on all the pages is in a regional language (with its own script which is non-roman) but majority of searches are in the same language but roman script?
For example, the entire content is in an Indian language called Gujarati and the script is also Gujarati. However, when I did a keyword research, I found that majority of the searches are in Gujarati langugage by roman script e.g. "gujarati sahitya" meaning Gujarati literature. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Creating SEO Time Management Strategy
Hey Mozzers! Everything nowadays is automated- social media, content calendars, etc.. I am trying to get more organized with my time so that I can make sure each client is getting a fair amount of work, but this can be tough as one person managing 20 various campaigns; it leaves little time for connecting with influencers and finding those organic connections for link building. I was recently watching an old WBF 'Building a Monthly SEO Action Plan' and it missed the mark a bit on what I was hoping for. I was wanting Rand's time and what he prioritizes; reporting, link building, content refinement... What SEO time management strategy have you found useful? How do you break down your time each month/per campaign? Thanks!!!
