Usage of Schema.org Microdata?
-
I am trying to figure out the correct usage of Schema.org for a business.
Example:
There is information like opening times or payments accepted. Would you populate this data within meta tags on every page (i.e. in the header) or really target specific pages? This could also apply to general info such as address, contact details, etc..
Interested in hearing your thoughts
Cheers

Fair enough...
This is what I'm looking at in terms of the settings I want to integrate directly into the header, I'll try to keep people posted on the results:

I figure brand in the case of a restraunt would be FoodEstablishment->LocalBusiness->Organization that sets your business branding across the site. Your would want to ensure any 404's that might happen go to the home or an informative search page, as a usability feature.

Thanks for the response!
So when you say brand, you mean all the general details, i.e. contact info, address, etc. should be present on all pages? I do the event, food tagging etc.. which is all specific to the content actually being there, but for instance if I have the basic details in the header, that'll also show up in the 404, archive pages, etc. which in my opinion is probably fine?

I would and do target content on a range of our pages, where I think we can give the viewer more useful information. If you list a sample menu you could use the 'offers' to provide prices and specials. You can use your customer reviews with the 'review' tag. It is also good to establish your brand throughout with the 'organization' tags. I do think this is a longer term strategy as Google is only starting to make use of some of the tags now and does not have a working test tool yet.
So, overall answer is maybe target your brand on each page and pick specific pages with strong useful content that you begin taging, at least until a good test tool allows you to check results.

Is it alright to make use of Schema for a questions and answer structure if they questions are all brand specific? Like common Q&As about your products or company ? Are will Google potentially consider this spammy?

Need explanation of Schema
Can someone explain me what it is and what is it used for. From my understanding it is something used by computers to understand language. In other words it is what you can say about an entity. For example a person works, is born somewhere but if I write Mr X flies to as human we do understand but as a computer the computer doesn't understand. Is that what schema is for ? telling me what I can say about an entity using specific verbs so that computers can understand. Thank you,

Should HTML be included in the structured data (schema) markup for the main body content?
Lately we have been applying structured data to the main content body of our client's websites. Our lead developer had a good question about HTML however. In JSON-LD, what is the proper way to embed content from a data field that has html markup (i.e. p, ul, li, br, tags) into mainContentOfPage. Should the HTML be stripped our or escaped somehow? I know that apply schema to the main body content is helpful for the Googlebot. However should we keep the HTML? Any recommendations or best practices would be appreciated. Thanks!

Schema - LocalBusiness markup for national companies
If we are marking up schema for a company that does services nationally, but has one physical location, should we use LocalBusiness for the organization type? It's an advertising company that is based in North Carolina, but services companies nationally. Thanks as always friends!

Schema.org mark up to avoid duplicate issue?
Hey there, I was wondering, does product's mark-up help to avoid penalization due to duplicate content? Here is the example: one of my client doesn't supply unique content. Because the major part of the content is technical description of products made by a couple of manufactures, do you think it will help me to link the official manufacturer webpage in a schena.org product mark-up? I know this is the right procedure to add mark-ups, but as on the pages of my client an outbound-link will show up, so I want to tell him this will be the only way to have that duplicate content without incurring in penalisation. I'd like to give him more than one solution, as I'm pretty sure it will never supply us with unique content. Thanks Pierpaolo

Microdata and dinamic data.
Hi, everybody! We're starting up a local services website in Brazil. Something like redbeacon.com or thumbtack.com, but obviously different. So we are developing our 2.0 version of the site, and I want do put microdata in every provider's pages, to rank people's evaluation about this particular provider, and geographic information about him. Ok, we want to use microdata in several pages, but those are more important: the providers. These data (geo and rank) will be dynamically generated from our database. In Schema.org, I only found information about using static data to build microdata for my intentions. My doubt is: does google and bing and yahoo and etc index dynamic generated data? Is there something about sitemaps.xml or robots.txt that I can do to have my data indexed on search engines? Our front-end is the guy who deal with html and our codemaster uses pure php for coding. Thanks!

Local Business schema / markup
What markup should local businesses employ on their website? I'm aware of the newer schema.org markup but does Google still use rich snippets, geotags, etc.?
