Usage of Schema.org Microdata?
-
I am trying to figure out the correct usage of Schema.org for a business.
Example:
There is information like opening times or payments accepted. Would you populate this data within meta tags on every page (i.e. in the header) or really target specific pages? This could also apply to general info such as address, contact details, etc..
Interested in hearing your thoughts
Cheers

Fair enough...
This is what I'm looking at in terms of the settings I want to integrate directly into the header, I'll try to keep people posted on the results:

I figure brand in the case of a restraunt would be FoodEstablishment->LocalBusiness->Organization that sets your business branding across the site. Your would want to ensure any 404's that might happen go to the home or an informative search page, as a usability feature.

Thanks for the response!
So when you say brand, you mean all the general details, i.e. contact info, address, etc. should be present on all pages? I do the event, food tagging etc.. which is all specific to the content actually being there, but for instance if I have the basic details in the header, that'll also show up in the 404, archive pages, etc. which in my opinion is probably fine?

I would and do target content on a range of our pages, where I think we can give the viewer more useful information. If you list a sample menu you could use the 'offers' to provide prices and specials. You can use your customer reviews with the 'review' tag. It is also good to establish your brand throughout with the 'organization' tags. I do think this is a longer term strategy as Google is only starting to make use of some of the tags now and does not have a working test tool yet.
So, overall answer is maybe target your brand on each page and pick specific pages with strong useful content that you begin taging, at least until a good test tool allows you to check results.

Schema.org wrong display in SERP
Hi, and happy new year! I tagged our new platform with schema.org: website+application software. There's also "reviews". Those reviews use datepublished microdata. However it seems that this info is used as a date for the page... Search for "logiciel cesar" with Google.fr, and the page is https://www.caplogiciel.com/logiciel/cesar

Here's a screenshot of the result:Â https://www.evernote.com/l/AN29vPn0PFNJdINZtA9QU6x_tmoq99c8D3A What did I do wrong? I checked other websites which are well displayed on Google and they use the same microdata... Thanks. Best, Benoit.0 -
Just implemented microdata, what should one typically expect?
Should I expect my rankings to do any weird things over the next couple of days or weeks?

Schema Review For Attorney wordpress website
I have a wordpress website for an attorney. I would like to implement schema markup rating/review. My client has really good reviews and I want to show the 5 stars in the SERPs. His rating is 5 out 5 stars. There are different plugins that are good only to leave a review, and the stars would only appear only for that review page in the SERPs. I would like the home page to have the stars in the SERPs. Is there a way to get it done? Thanks!

Schema.org snippet for thumbs up-down reviews
Hi guys, I'm deep into the Schema.org meta-tags implementation for the reviews on my website and I'd love to know how do you think I should implement it when I have Positive-Negative reviews as opposed to star ratings. Â I couldn't find a site that had this with schema tags for reference. Â Fiverr used to have thumbs up/down, but recently changed to star rating. On our services marketplace we allow users to review the providers they worked with and ask them for a positive-negative review - thumbs up/down with an additional open text area. I thought about adding a schema.org meta-tags like this: Lets assume one of our providers got two reviews, one is positive and the second is negative. So, first I thought about adding an aggregateReview meta-tag on top, just like this: And also add a meta-tag for any review, like this: Two days ago by

Schema and the abuse of it
Hey guys, Looking at schema, especially the aggregate rating, It's easy for anything to just put up a rating and slap on the code to their page. But wouldn't this open up abuse of schema? Are there any mechanisms search engines have put in place to de-rank such practices? I just see schema trusting users to do the morally right thing rather than a mechanism to capture/punish bad practices Thoughts?

Schema.org on Youtube iframe embed?
So I've tried scouring the internet on the proper way to markup youtube videos. I know there's the VideoObject propery but that seems to be more made for the old school embed code that looks like this: <embed width="100%" id="video-player-flash" height="100%" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" src="http://s.ytimg.com/yt/swfbin/watch_as3-vflpp9opi.swf" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" bgcolor="#000000" flashvars="el=embedded&fexp=904001%2C914057%2C918000%2C910206%2C907217%2C907335%2C921602%2C919306%2C922600%2C919316%2C920704%2C912804%2C913542%2C919324%2C912706&is_html5_mobile_device=false&tabsb=1&hl=en_US&eurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.dial800.com%2Fblog%2Fvideos%2Fdial800-product-overview-video&iurl=http%3A%2F%2Fi4.ytimg.com%2Fvi%2Fgk1aD9UCKYA%2Fhqdefault.jpg&tspto=12000&probably_logged_in=1&tsp_buffer=10&video_id=gk1aD9UCKYA&tsp_dvrloop=50&sendtmp=1&enablejsapi=1&sk=WZy3rFIXzzhTB_BpmE1p1tTsbxMib1vIC&rel=1&playlist_module=http%3A%2F%2Fs.ytimg.com%2Fyt%2Fswfbin%2Fplaylist_module-vfl3lol2H.swf&jsapicallback=ytPlayerOnYouTubePlayerReady&playerapiid=player1&framer=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.dial800.com%2Fblog%2Fvideos%2Fdial800-product-overview-video"> Do I need to use that code or is it possible to mark it up using just the clean iframe src that youtube provides now?
