Domain Authority and Page authority for external links. What's the difference in value?

Hi Guys.
I understand the difference between page authority and domain authority in terms of how likely that page is to rank.
But what about a links from a high DA site, but from a low PA page?
We’ve identified a client with extremely high DA (73/100), but their blog page has a PA of 1/100. Would a link from this page be pretty much valueless due to the low PA? Or would it still be quite strong as the DA is so high?
Perhaps you could point me to some good reading or Moz post on this topic?

I agree with Ruben,
PA can be the result of a new/unranked page or one that wasn't properly optimized, whereas DA is hard to argue with. It is a trusted source and that trust flows through the page by virtue of it coming from the same domain.
It could also mean that their link profile has targeted their home page (or others) instead of this blog post (or the blog in general). There can be many reasons for this, but in all likelihood this link will help you out.

Is a great question isaac633. In my opinion, I think that both are very important but If I could be linked from a page with PA 70/ DA 10 or other with PA 10/ DA 70, I would choose the second one with more DA. This was asked too here http://moz.com/community/q/da-vs-pa-when-building-links

Why did my Domain Authority drop?

Gained a number of new 'do-follow' links - Good or Bad?
So, my client's site is on a subdomain of the parent site and there were a number of links previously pointing to the subdomain site from the main site which were all no-follow so were purely for referral/traffic benefits. Around the end of February, the main site changed all the links to 'do-follow'. Is this likely to have caused the decline we've recently seen in organic traffic to the site and a drop in rankings? I'm curious as to how that could have affected the site as we didn't know and have only just found out about it but I'm not sure how to show that it's led to a decline. Any help is appreciated!

Too many on page links
Hi i'm new to MOZ, after sacking my SEO consultant due to the penguin update. My site position isn't fantastic right now for my national and local search terms 😞 The first problem i have is tackling too many on page links. I understand it should be 100 or less, unless users would benefit more. Looking at my links i have up to 200 on page links (which i know are not beneficial or user friendly). If i give you an example this page has 208 links: http://www.drivejohnsons.co.uk/blog/page/3 Heres another one with 157 links: http://www.drivejohnsons.co.uk/author/admin/page/2 Here's one that isn't associated with my blog that has 188 links: http://www.drivejohnsons.co.uk/testimonials On average most pages excluding the blog have around 120 links per page and i know thats to do with my Nav Bar - which i will sort out. My question is: Because the majority of these high link pages are associated with my blog, will that affect my site SEO performance? If yes, does anyone have any suggestions as to how i can reduce the total links on each page within my blog? The more i blog, this number is only going to increase 😞 Im using wordpress. Is it ok for a web design company to have a branded footer link on their client's sites?
Now I know that in general footer links to your site from another site are bad...this is because they are very often spammy...however I like to think that Google is pretty smart and I am of the opinion that a web design company should be able to link back to their own site. Here's why: If a visitor comes across a site that they love the design of, and they want a new website built...why shouldn't they be able to click through to the web designers site? (as long as the client is happy to link to it of course) I also feel that if there are a whole bunch of high authority/pagerank websites have been designed by a web design company and they therefore have a footer link pointing to them, it's probably a pretty good sign that they're a good web designer. Is it not? In saying this I think that the link anchor text should be branded rather than keywords. For example I usually write "Web Design by Static Shift" I'm interested to hear people's thoughts. Am I being blinded by my bias? Thoughts aside, and onto the facts...what are people's experiences with footer links for a web design company. Do they help or hinder?

OSE shows links on sites but can't find links
Hi mozzers, I'm cleaning up our backlink profile and looking up anchortexts in OSE. I downloaded and selected one anchortext. However when I go to the sites OSE found, I can't find the links. I look in the source code and onpage keywords. Is it because of my lack of skills that I can't find the links 🙂 or isn't OSE working properly.

Link Baiting ineffective for money pages
I am thinking of creating link baits such as infographic for my site. Problem is, link baits only serve to bait links towards those link baiting pages isn't it? It doesn't actually help in improving the SERP of my money pages within the site (which have content that doesn't bait links). Yes I do know however, it will help in the site authority which might ultimately improve the SERP of my money pages, but it is all too ineffective and far fetched is it?
