In the Yahoo link directory you can submit paid or free, which do you use?
-
Has anyone here had any luck getting Yahoo to pickup links submitted through the free option? How long does this generally take? Or do you usually just pay the $300/year on your clients behalf? Or do you get your client to cover it?
I couldn't direct link the page because you have to in a directory when you hit submit, but it looks like this screen shot:
-
299$ for initial consideration by Yahoo (doesn't mean your website will be accepted for sure).

So far I have not been successful in having Yahoo add any sites to their directory for free. I will try a couple more times before giving up on the process.
The $300 fee is definitely something which you would want to discuss with your client, and they should cover if they want the value of being in Yahoo's directory.

Paid directory links
Just going through my competitors back links, and discovered a couple of directories who charge a small fee for a listing (£20) (one way link) or a free listing (with a reciprocal link) they both have PR of 50 so I was wondering are these type of links still worth it? Best wishes. David.

Link Churn - where have all my links gone?
I am sure most of you have asked yourself the question I'm asking right now.. Where have all my links gone? I am starting to get twitchy now. I would estimate we have lost around 60% of our links in the past 3 weeks. Does anyone have any comeback stories? Feel like I am back to the start again. I have made a number of changes on the site not least removing a reciprical link page.. that had over 200 links on it but from reading one of Rand's tweets is it true that linking out could be good again?

Link Directory
I am not an SEO expert by any means, just trying to improve the ranking of my own personal real estate site. Are directory links good for backlinks, or are they a waster of time?
