Verified News Sources: A New Feature in Fresh Web Explorer Launched Today!
-
Hey gang - I wanted to mention a small update we've made to Fresh Web Explorer (I was the architect on this one). It enables you to filter your searches and/or your Alerts to show only those sources/domains we've observed in Google News. E.g. here's a search for GigaOm with news filtering on (180 results in the last 7 days) vs. the same search with news filtering off (1,811 results).
It's mostly useful for folks who are getting overwhelmed by the quantity of mentions they see in FWE and Alerts (I was experiencing that myself with mentions for my name and Moz) and just want to filter to the most important/noteworthy stuff. It's not perfect - Google News does have some weird domains that show in there occasionally - but it's definitely a much better filter if you have a bigger brand or term/phrase you're watching.
Any questions or feedback, please let us know!

Hi Rand,
This is a fantastic upgrade. It was difficult to filter through key phrases that were popular without getting overwhelmed. This will help us polarize in on the stuff that counts.
Thanks another great improvement to Moz.
Great job
Tom

Hi Don - probably not, at least not in the near future. Curious about how you might use that data if it were offered separately? Is segmenting Google News sources vs. Yahoo! News sources when looking at fresh links/mentions valuable?
Note: For NPR or CNN or any individual domain, you can already do that! Just use the site: operator, e.g. startups site:npr.org

Are more outlets (filters) coming?
Yahoo News / NPR / CNN / etc......
-
This is cool! Nice job, Rand and team.
-
Also useful from working on the other side of trying to make traction within larger / verified news sources. Great work!

Unsolved New Google SERP Now Lazy Loading
Hello, Google has changed the way it displays it's SERPs with lazy loading new listings. Because of this the Moz Chrome Extension no longer shows results past first results. I also often find that when a site is ranked above the Maps, it doesn't display results. Is there a fix for this?

Can Moz Keyword Explorer help target keywords for Google Images results?
I'm wondering if I can use Keyword Explorer (or maybe another tool?) to target keywords for image rankings. I'd like to play around with optimizing images so that they appear in search results and thus provide traffic - but wasn't sure the best way to track that kind of progress. My ultimate goal is to analyze the difficulty of ranking for a certain keyword via Google images. (I do know to optimize alt tag/title tag/place in relevant article etc, but wanted to know if I could research the difficulty). Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!

Keyword Explorer: Search by Domain Not Working?
We have tried Keyword Explorer for several websites today using the domain, subdomain and exact page option. None of these are returning keyword results. Is the tool currently broken? As a test we tried Amazon.com, see screenshot: JbWsaLi.png

Does Organic CTR from Keyword Explorer show percentage of 1st position clicks? If not, how to calculate?
I have two questions about the Organic CTR number from the Moz Keyword Explorer tool. I have read through the description here, but it is not very clear on what I need to know: https://moz.com/community/q/what-is-a-good-keyword-opportunity-score Does it calculate the percent of searchers that are likely to click on ANY of links from page one of the traditional organic search results? Or does it calculate the percent of searchers that are likely to click on the NUMBER 1 position of the traditional organic search results? I suspect the answer will be that it calculates the percentage of clicks for any of the traditional organic search results from page one. Which leads me to question two... I'm trying to calculate the estimated search traffic from each keyword if there was a number 1 ranking. And if the Organic CTR shows the percentage of clicks going to any of the traditional organic search results I need to add a modifier to my formula which will calculate how many clicks the number 1 ranking receives. So I think the formula would will look something like this: Monthly website traffic from keyword = monthly search traffic * Organic CTR * Number 1 Position CTR. In this case, what would I use for the "Number 1 Position CTR" modifier?

Idea for new feature on Moz Q&A
Hi Moz Can we please have a new feature to moz when answering questions please, the ability to save as a draft. I am currently on the train from London back home and I was trying to answer a few questions and give my opinion and after writing a really long and detailed response to an area I actually have quite a lot to say on, my internet froze and the page refreshed losing all the content. It doesn’t help that my Mac I am working on isn’t the fastest, but my new one isn’t quite ready yet. But if there was a simple save draft feature, it would be really great as I wasn’t ready to post my answer as it wasn’t finished and without checking wouldn’t have made sense. Yes I know I could of done it in word and pasted it across, but usually when I am travelling and answering questions I do it on my Ipad which isn’t great for multitasking. While I understand you don’t want lots of ‘draft answers’ all over the place as this would take storage space up on your servers and doesn’t actually help the person answering the question, your system could purge all draft answers which have not been edited in the last 24 hours. Just a little suggestion to help make this great forum even better. Thanks Andy

Since the revised website was launched, I can't find the "Crawl Test" function showing Titles and Descriptions of other websites. Anyone know where that link is located?
MOZ can "crawl" any website and show information like Title, Description, etc.....Can't find that link.
