Is it possible to move a couple of posts and comments from one WP domain to another
-
Hi,
We want to move a couple of dozen articles from one of our self-hosted wordpress website to another self-hosted Wordpress website. Is there a way to this such that the following content is also included in the migration:
1. Post content (including images and meta if possible)
2. CommentsDo note the older site from which we want to move out the content has more than 2000 posts and we just want to move 60-70 posts.
Thanks.

I literally did this, we had 1500 domains and I had to condense them all down into one two things to note:
- If you are moving Wordpress content into a clean Wordpress install make sure you copy the MySQL database to the new site and change the wp-config file so that it reflects the database that you want to use.
- If you are moving Wordpress content into an existing Wordpress install it might be easier to just manually edit them. I found that pulling text and importing them into something like TextWrangler allowed me to make sure all the formatting was correct, although the WYSIWYG is good, its not perfect. From there I just uploaded all of my pictures, pasted the new formatted text into the Wordpress text editor and added the photo!
Let me know if you have any questions!

Hi,
It is possible to use plugins like https://wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-importer/
You would backup the required content from the 2000+ site,
Upload it to the new one,
Remove all but the ones you wanted to keep (Depending on the plugins is depending on how isolated you can make the backup)
Remove the 60+ post from your original sitePlugins like this do indeed preserve meta, images and comments etc,
Attached is a screenshot showing how you can limit the export so you can hopefully target your content enough that you will be able to export exactly what you need and no more.Kind Regards
Jimmy

Hi Shalin
Check out this resource from wpbeginner called How to Properly Move Your Blog from WordPress.com to WordPress.org - quite a bit of information but this should answer your question!
Hope this helps! Good luck!

Anything wrong in linking to homepage from all sub domain pages?
Hi, We have 6 sub domains which are forums, guides, etc. They have their own visitors for the related queries. We are planning to divert some of them to the website to promote our product with latest content. We are planning to add a link from every page of sub domain to our website homepage. This makes additional thousands of internal links flowing to website homepage. Will this kind of internal linking structure hurts? Any risks involved? Thanks

Domain branding and such
I have a client that has a website hosted with the site designers hosting company. That designer has proven to be unreliable, ineffective and non-responsive. We have since built a new website using a new domain name, but now we have lost all citations and links. Can I reclaim this domain name by pointing it towards my server and migrating the new site to his established domain? Should I update all of his citations to the new domain? What will happen to the old site? The old designer does not respond to any emails or phone calls so any help would be appreciated. Thanks

When Site:Domain Search Run on Google, SSL Error Appears on One URL, Will this Harm Ranking
Greetings MOZ Community: When a site:domain search is run on Google, a very strange URL appears in the search results. The URL is http://www.nyc-officespace-leader.com:2082/ The page displays a "the site's security certificate is not trusted." This only appears for one URL out of 400. Could this indicate a wider problem with the server's configuration? Is this something that needs to be corrected, and if so how? Our ranking has dropped a lot in the last few months. Thanks,

Two Different IP Addresses For Different Parts Of One Site Okay?
I have a client who has a site in Drupal and, for reasons too complicated to go iinto, wants to host part of the site in Wordpress from a different server. So it would be like oldsiteexample.com being in Drupal and the new oldsiteexample.com/marketing and everything below /marketing being in wordpress on a different server, obviously with a different IP address. Are there SEO considerations in this? The existing oldsiteexample.com has a lot of authority/rank/traffic and don't want to inadvertently risk that. Thanks... Darcy

Show root domain (that is 301 redirected) in SERP?
Hi, If I have the domain name www.businessname.com.au pointing (using 301 redirect) to a particular page on a business directory site (eg www.bizdirectory.com.au/businessname), is it possible to have the URL www.businessname.com.au displayed in the Google search results rather than the destination page of www.bizdirectory.com.au/businessname? Thanks in advance,

Hosting and Domains in the US
Hello, In the UK I have my domains hosted with a company and my hosting with another company. I can change the DNS so the domain works with the webhosting. Can this be setup in the USA in the same way or does the hosting and domain need to be with the same company? Thanks.

Making a third-party hosted blog look like a folder on the main domain
I have a client that has a "completely pristine" Microsoft.net web environment that is unwilling to put a wordpress installation on their server. Their management team wants a wordpress blog for the marketing department. Is there a means where we can host the wordpress blog with a regular hosting company but yet have it appear as part of the main site e.g., mainsite.com/blog vs. having to put it in a subdomain (blog.mainsite.com) and lose all the SEO benefits of the blog content?
