Sponsoring a show/play

Hey,
How does it work with sponsorships and paid back links?
I have a lawyer website, and I know lots of people who do plays and play shows.
I could easily sponsor a band for like $100 and get a link on the page.
Is this allowed? I could even write stuff on their page to make it more relevant.

Here is Google's resource on link schemes - I suggest you read it.
I would also suggest (based on Google's resource here) that you make this link nofollow.
Since this is a sponsorshipesque link and you're a local business (if you're not, don't do this), then make sure you take the proper steps.
Where would this link live exactly? Content? Sidebar? Ad?

It will hurt your site and theirs. It doesn't matter if your only suggesting plays and optimizing for them well. Plays and Lawyers don't add up, unless it's a blog and your recommending something.

Inbound Links not showing. Links are not no follow
Over the past several months I have definitely received inbound links to my website ( none of which are no follow). I have HubSpot as well s Moz and none of the links are showing. My competitors with the same link sources are showing though. I am completely dumbfounded. Why are my inbound links not showing and how much time does it take for them to show if they show at all? Googles stance on Back Links via a Badge/Form
Hey guys, Does anyone know what Google's stance is on backlinks that come via a form, WordPress theme or badge. For example if I offer website security and provide badges for websites that are malware clean (with a back link to my website) and 100 websites sign up to my website will this be deemed as bad practice in Google's eyes? Also if I create a free WordPress theme with a backlink to myself? The second question sounds like I'm providing content for a link which seems okay but the first one can go either way. Thanks

Is commenting on other peoples blogs / articles good for seo?
Hello everyone, Just a quick question, say if I find some websites which are relevant to my service and they have articles I can comment on and include my URL , will these help for SEO? The websites also have a good PR rating higher than 3 does this count towards anything? Would these links be classed 'follow' or 'nofollow' links - could something please explain what this means aswell. Thanks very much!

Hi Everyone says quality backlinks increase ranking of your website. Can you please suggest a list of good websites and blogs from where I can get quality backlinks and how to do that. I have one person at my disposal full time to do manual commenting or any manual tasks for getting backlinks but how should i approach this problem (of getting backlinks). Where do I start. Links aren't showing up in SEOMOZ resports
Hi, I've been building links to my client's website for the past 3 weeks. I know that there are several sites that link to my client's website now but SEOMOZ's link analyses says there aren't any sites linking to my client's website. Anybody know what's up with that? Sincerely, Rex

Links from Nextag/PriceGrabber
I have a eCommerce store over BigCommerce platform. It is possible to sell via Shopping Comparison Sites like: Nextag, PriceGrabber, Bizrate, Shopping.com, If I decide to advertise my products over those sites, will it be consider a trust link for Google? Our store is new and we don't have links referring to us, I need solutions. Also, there is a yellow pages site, http://www.yellowpages.ca/ that ask for monthly fees to advertise on there web site, advertising will be business name, addressee, phone number and web site, will it be a positive link for Google or just a paid link?
