Is it worth it to get links from my suppliers?
-
Hi, I run a Lawyer lead gen site.
I could get links from like my bookkeeper and accountant but is it relevant?
Let me know what you think.
-
To the point Egol
I am not sure how google see the relevance, but getting a link from a relevant business that is not in the business of giving out links is a good link.

_Let's be nice here folks, it's an obvious honest question. _
To answer your question Raf:
It depends on your goal Raf. If you're into building quality backlinks, I don't think it's a good idea. I believe Google has mentioned several times about getting easy links will get you penalized at some point in time. However, if you're into branding and getting quality traffic, me thinks it's ok. Perhaps getting penalized by Google is not as bad as it is when you get good amount of interested visitors from their site?
In addition, I don't think you should focus on building backlinks for SEO Raf. Have you read about the latest Google algorythm update for SEO? I bet you already did. It mentioned about quality content as the main factor of SEO and building backlinks will no longer guarantee positive results in search ranking, right?
Let me show you an example:
- Go to google.com.ae
- Search advertising UAE
- Or Search Marketing UAE
- You will notice there are 22 - 25 million search results (competition is high)
- Look for Innovate Advertising & Marketing on first page
- Analyze the site "http://www.ibs-uae.com/" and you'll notice it doesn't have many backlinks
Hope this helps.

If I was your accountant, I would kick you out.

Hi there
To me, this doesn't seem natural - I don't know too many bookkeepers or accountants that mention who they work with. I would consider that information private, and there may even be some legalities (I am not sure though).
If for some reason you go through with this, I would be extremely careful doing so and not go overboard because it could look spammy and manipulative. I would pay attention to Google's resources on link schemes and utilizing nofollow if need be. I would also make sure your branded link / logo link are nofollowed (don't worry - these links are still valuable), and mentioned in an organic, natural fashion or listed on a Partners-esque page.
Again, this doesn't seem like a natural link and could come across odd, but that's upto you and your team to decide. Just weigh the positives and negatives and use your gut instinct.
Hope this helps! Good luck!

Subdomain links vs root domain links? Are the less valuable?
I am determining the value of links we get. Is a link on a subdomain less valuable vs one on the root domain? How less valuable would you consider a subdomain link? For example blog.site.com vs site.com/blog What other metrics would you take into consideration for the value of a subdomain link?

Best five links to get first for a new website
I wondered if people had a list of the top five or ten links you should build for a new website in order to add some sense of authority. For example should a new website start with key social media websites such as Twitter, Google+ and Linkedin ? Or top level directories such as BOTW and DMOZ? Should they local for niche website directories in their location or vertical? If you had to choose five links - free or paid which would they be?

Great idea to get back links in short order; however the links would be unrelated. . Is it worth the effort . BTW, it's a white hat method. Should I proceed?
I have come up with a very creative way to get some great back links using white hat methods. The problem is that the back links to the site would be to an interior page or external promotional website which then have links back to the main website. What kind of value for the main domain would this potentially achieve. What are peopLes thoughts on this idea?

Getting Many Links from Tumbler Question?
If I have 10 links coming from 10 Tumbler blogs.. Do they count as 10 linking domains or 1 linking domain coming from tumbler.com? Does the authority of links coming from tumbler decrease the more I get links from tumbler blogs? Thanks

Facebook Mentions...are they worth the effort to get as back links?
I'm currently focusing on link building for one of the websites I work on. In reviewing past customers, I see quite a few that do not have a blog, but do have social media pages like Facebook, for their business. I'm wondering if it's worth the effort to get them to "mention" the website with a link and brief comment from their Facebook page. Thanks for any/all input.

Using parked domain page to get 50k+ of low quality links, good idea?
Hi all, I'm managing the seo for a hosting company. We have a lot of parked domains with a parked domain page. This will now be updated to promote our products. When this page is updated it will give 50k+ of low quality links to specific pages almost overnight. We curently don't have a very good seo ranking for our keywords, so there is little risk on the downside in the short term. Do you have any suggestions as to how I should go about this? Some alternatives off the top of my head: 1. get the page up an focus all the link equity on relevant pages with keywords in anchor text 2. add noindex / nofollowto all pages or only part of them to avoid puishment 3. add noindex / to the majority of the pages and "release" a percentage every week or so to avoid a "link bomb" Thanks for any and all input!
