Getting some links, when will I see results?
-
Hey Guys,
I started getting some links to my website. When do you think I will see an increase in rankings?
Thanks!
-
Patrick is on the money here,
when you say you are getting links, did you go out and get them or are they natural.
I don't think google is interested in 99% of any link you can go out and get yourself.
And those that appear naturally are also 99% crap.
You can get good sites to link to you but it is not easy, and you may get good sites to link to you naturally over time. IMO you are better off spending time in making sure your sites crawls perfectly, making sure you have good content, and describing your site to google using structured data.
If your site is a good result for your keywords click data alone can do wonders for ranking -
Hey Raf,
There are many facets to SEO and getting backlinks is only one of them and does not guarantee instant results. It's a good thing though that you're focusing on getting backlinks now, but keep in mind to be extra careful in this process.
If you're getting Do Follow backlinks from relevant websites with high PR, chances are, you'll get good results in due time. But you're asking when, right? That I can't answer, but hopefully it won't take long.
However, if you're getting backlinks from irrelevant websites, you might want to refrain this process. It will only harm your ranking status.
Also, no follow links won't help you increase your site's ranking.
Hope this helps.

I agree with Patrick. If you're getting quality natural links from authoritative sites, you're improving your site's ability to rank for keywords. This ability to rank should help you as you improve your on-site SEO and ad high quality content to your site. Since more authoritative sites get crawled more often, quality links should impact your site quicker.
I think it's worth noting that the increase in rankings will also depend on the competition for the keywords you're trying to rank for. Using Moz's keyword difficulty checker will give you an idea of how tough it will be to be to get on page 1 of the SERPs. If you're doing everything right in terms of on-site SEO, keyword optimization and your backlink profile is on par, or better than the competition, you'll have a good chance at seeing your rankings improve.

Hi there
It really depends on the site linking to you, how relevant it is, and when your site/their site gets crawled.
Keep in mind, however, that there are so many more factors that go into ranking than simply getting links. I would start looking into opportunities to raise your Domain Authority and make sure your on-site SEO is on point.
I would also make sure that you take a look at Moz's numerous guides and Academy - there are a ton of great resources and tips that can help you go above and beyond just the world of link building.
Start taking a look at the guides / resources above and begin prioritizing the opportunities you feel can best move the needle on your website. The work is never done!
Hope you're well! Good luck!

Will links from startup/tech blogs help a site rank for *money* keywords?
If a startup has a tech blog (say, domain.com/tech) and a startup journey blog (on domain.com/journey — think groovehq.com/blog), will garnering high PA/DA links to those pages help the root domain rank for keywords related to the startup's services? For example, continuing the Groove example, will quality links to their aforementioned startup blog help them rank the homepage for Online Help Desk Software? Even when those links are from non-helpdesk content on non-helpdesk sites? My theory is that links from high DA sites won't be a bad thing — as long as they're not from spammy pages and done naturally. In some niches, where it's hard to get organic product-related links, this might be a worthwhile strategy. Am I right? Or sadly misguided...? 🙂 EDIT: BTW. The niche I have in mind is fairly uncompetitive, and it'd be easier to garner links from the startup/tech community than the niche community itself.

AllTop Linking Me to Other Sites Feeds, Webmasters Reporting Lots of Broken Links
I submitted my blog to All Top awhile ago and something seems to be wrong with their feed. They're sending people to mysite.com/truth-o-meter.com/this-is-a-post. It's not just truth-o-meter either. I'm getting links that are supposed to go to all kinds of political blogs. As a result, I'm getting a ton of broken links reported on Google Webmasters. I couldn't find any real support option on alltop.com, and when I log in, there are no sites for me to manage. Instead, I resubmitted the site with the correct feed address and in the comments, I mentioned the problem. All I got was a message saying the site was rejected. I believe because I already added the site. But I'm thinking they didn't pay attention to the comments. (In fact the message may have gone through an auto-filter considering how quickly it was rejected.) Is there a way to solve this? Is this a situation in which I would use the disavow tool? If All Top continues to create bad links, how do I stop the issue once and for all? Thanks!

Using sitewide links to improve link profile?
Hi Guys... When I look at my competitor's link profile, they often have thousands of backlinks. For example, one of our main competitor, he got 3,400 backlinks in total but only 80 referring domains. When I look at my link profile, I have around 50-60 referring domains, but hardly 80 backlinks. My question is, is it okay to get a few sitewide links (no-follow of course!) to get to the thousands backlinks? Or I will be able to achieve top rankings with my current link profile? Thanks!!

Link value
Hi I have some links from blogs to our ecom website. My question is if anyone knows what happens if you have several different blogs on .blogspot linking in to you. Does that make them loose value because they are on the same domain? I can probably quite easily have 5-10 blogs on blogspot all with PA of 35-40 link in to us. Is it worth striving for or should i strive to get blogs that have their own domain to link into us instead ? Or equally important ? Dan Lærum

I cannot get any links indexed to this website http://atglimo.com.
I have written nofollow, follow links, issued a press release, and submitted to the Universal Business Listing. None of these links are showing in the Yahoo index. I did a nofollow bookmark with delicious and it disappeared the next day. The people that built the website will not grant FTP access and modded the HTACCESS file incorrectly to point to a WWW. version of the site. I had them remove the index.html duplicate content problem. What is going on? Why are no links showing in the index for this site?
