Exchanging Guest Blog Opportunities - SEO Implications?
-
Haven't found a clear, recent answer on this.
What are the SEO implications of exchanging guest blogging opportunities (in other words, we write an article for a partner blog with a backlink, and they write an article on on our blog with a backlink)?
The partner site has a 57 domain authority and we have a 24 domain authority.

We do this on a monthly basis with another company (a former employee who moved to a different company, there's synergy in what both companies offer). So far (and we've been doing it for just over a year) we haven't had any problems with doing this.
We also do guest blogging without reciprocal relationship.
I think it works so long as there are clear, demonstrable reasons for doing so - like I say we do this with a company that is not in direct competition with us but does have synergy with what we offer so we're able to provide expertise in our area for their visitors and vice versa. I think it adds value for our visitors and theirs.
Hope this helps

This is basically reciprocal linking and will do very little for you. The odd one is OK, but if Google saw too much of this, it could make them wonder why every inbound link, has another pointing back again.
I would avoid it, unless there is a very good reason to do it. They tend to be ignored or do very little for you - focus on one-way links, and don't be tempted to go for any pyramid / triangular linking opportunities.

Hey Mike,
I don't think there is any problem in exchanging guest posts IF,
- You both are writing original and authentic content to each other sites (Not paraphrasing).
- Relevancy is there
- Both sites are not part of any PBN
- You're getting links in a natural way.. i.e. not bombarding links with commercial anchor texts.
- It's not a frequent practice like you're linking each other on weekly basis.
Let's see how other experts responds.
Hope this helps!
Thanks,

Blog post generating irrelevant traffic. What should I do with it?
I have a blog post that has been generating more than 75% of my website's traffic month over month.-averaging about 1000 views a month. Awesome that so many people are finding and benefiting from this post, however it is really skewing my traffic. I have an 87% bounce rate, and I'm only ranking in terms related to this post as opposed to industry related terms. I'm not sure what to do with this blog post. I want to be able to better evaluate my website's performance and be sure I'm targeting the right audience in order to gain more leads. Would a 'noindex' or 'nofollow' be appropriate here? Thanks!

Content Creation For Blog & Ranking Locally
Hey Everyone, I'm trying to rank for specific long tail key words such as: lower back pain treatment exercises lower back surgery options herniated disc exercises and etc. My question is: If I create a blog or article on these key words and integrate content and video within it and on youtube, will these blog posts come up locally when someone searches it within my area?

Looking for a Proof Reader for a Moz Blog Post..
Hello everybody, After being here for 4 years I decided to write a post for YouMoz. That was about 3 months ago, and while I have read, re-read and proofed this thing a dozen times since, I know my own limits. I honestly want the post to be the best it can be, and while I stand by my article, I know my forte is not with writing. My article is about Beginning SEO and Where to Start, yes it maybe cliche but I find myself answering many of the questions on these QA boards that I address in this article. It would be nice to have a post I could point to when such situations arise. What I'm looking for is one or two persons with a strong knowledge of basic SEO, the ability to understand me (a cluttered mind), and strong grammar skills. Credit will be given to those who want it. The article is basically in what I consider a finished state, I just need to add a compendium video for one of the sections. I have done my own artwork, research, and document design. I just need a keen eye to snuff out those grammar errors I always miss and somebody to tell me if a section doesn't make sense. If you are interested please let me know here, or send me a PM. I would like to have something to review to make my selection so if you're not active here, a link to where you are would be beneficial. I know that might be asking a lot; help and you also get vetted, but the idea is I don't want to send out what I think is a very good article only to see it appear on another site. Thank you, Don P.S. To the Moz staff. Once I make my selection I will mark at least one response as Good so it don't keep annoying you as an un-answered question.

Seo benefits to keywords other than specifically targeted?
Im a photographer. Im interested in starting a blog on my site with articles relating to photography advise, tips, recommendations, etc... Will traffic to those posts help my serp rankings to terms i wouldnt specifically target in them? Say local terms such as my city wedding photographer? I know the blog posts would help others, and help give me industry authority, but i would like it if in addition it helps drive my local target market to my site. Thoughts?

Blog Content
I keep reading that a steady stream of new blogs from my site is a great way for getting inbound links to my site. My question is... Does the content of my blogs have to be relevant to my site? My site is www.marblerenovation.com. If the blog should stay relevant, I am finding it pretty hard to create engaging content around cleaning marble floors. Also, does anyone know of a good place to find bloggers to help create this content? Thanks in advance everyone Dave

Should I Have No Index, No Follow On Blog Category & Tag Pages?
At some point in the past I read or was told that No Index, No Follow tags on category and tag pages were a good thing on a standard WordPress blog in order to prevent duplicate content issues. Is this still true or was it ever true?
