Forum signature links in relevant categories of the forum

Hello I want a question about forum signature backlink. Suppose I join a forum having following categories:
A
B
C
and the C category is relavant to my niche like for example the C category is about SEO and I want to build a website about SEO and want to put link in the signature for that webiste. So can i consider it as relevant category for my niche??? although the category A and B are not relevant to my niche and also I will not post in them???

Thanks but please tell me as you said forum signature links are not good , guest blogging is not good then how should we go to make backlinks? Do you have a way like making web 2.0 and build teir 2 backlinks to it??? or any other method???

Guest posting is still something a lot of people do and some see some great results, but it must be done carefully - very carefully! Get it wrong and you will be seeing the wrong end of a penalty from Google.

Hi Tanveer,
You will get absolutely nothing from forum signatures, other than perhaps the odd click. As a link building strategy, these are amongst those on the "avoid" list.

Link quality
Hi, Having read dozens of your blogs and found them highly informative, i have to ask a question. I am kicking oout our SEO company and have taken over the SEO myself with some excellent results. Our SEO providers tell me that links from any site (irrelevent of their DA) are good, providing they are comming from a relevant source. We are in the security industry and according to MOZ, we have a DA of 52. If i can get a link to our site from another company in our industry but they have a DA of 10, is this really beneficial for me? Info i have read in Moz blogs suggest it is n ot a good idea. It can be bad for the site if I use various items to create links to a page that represents a specific keyword? The articles are relevant and anchor text is not only done on the keyword, but also by using words near the keyword in question.

If you are building links in forums how can you decide which forums to post to? Of course you can have a look at averall traffic in Alexa or mozrank but is there anything else you can look at?

Many competitor's backlinks are in content anchor links. Ho do I get these same links?
Hi I managed to open up OSE. I'm finding that much of the competition's backlinks are in content anchor text links. Am I supposed to get backlinks from these same pages using the same anchor text but linking back to my page or is that allowed? If so, how do I get these in content blog post links? Thanks. Sunil.

Hi mozzers, I've had some great success reaching out to many .edu webmasters. Often they are professors and such. My question is, i'm guessing during the summer holiday period, reaching out to these webmasters won't be so fruitful. I'm not in the US and was wondering when the US Summer holidays are for universities over there? Also, does anyone have experience outreaching to these webmasters over the holidays? Peter
