Wordpress / Full URL In Menu Box

I came across an article online (not Moz) that says adding the full url in a menu is a Google standard. So when you make a menu link you put "www.example.com/page" instead of "/page". What are your thoughts on this? Any real reason to?

I agree with Adam, the reason why I would recommend adding full URLs in the internal links is because if some other blog reshare (if not steal) your content and put it up on their own blog, the links (if not full URLs) will be broken.
Adding full URLs will allow new audience to reach out to you without a problem.

I've seen a quote from Matt Cutts suggesting absolute (full) URLs, but that quote is from 10 years ago. I'm pretty sure that no longer applies.
Absolute or relative URLs are 100% fine for SEO. Full URLs may offer a small benefit in that content scrapers may end up linking to your site if they steal your content.

Numerous duplicate destination URLs from within one menu - potential impact for on-page SEO?
Hello all What is your evaluation in regards to a number of links (different anchors) targeting the same destination URL from within one and the same menu (on the same website)? Keeping it brief: Think of a top menu drop down entry, that needs to feature the alphabet (each letter has it's own sub-entries). However, the actual letter itself is not represented by a page (it has no URL either). So far so good. However, when testing the menu on a mobile device, the letter entries are still treated, as if they were non-existent pages - thus throwing a 404 when clicked. In order to avoid people getting a 404 when clicking on any letter, it would be ideal, if they were directed to any main page (the same destination URL though). However, that would mean 26 times the same destination URL from within that menu. Is this approach potentially bad for SEO, hence there would be numerous duplicate destination URLs in place? Please mind, I am not inquiring for help on how to arrange the actual menu. I am concerned about the impact, identical destination URLs could have on the on-page SEO. Installing sub folder with the same wordpress installation
Dear Friends, My main wordpress install is at www.marketing91.com However, i want to expand the topic to include advertising as well. I was considering installing a sub domain but instead i have decided to install a sub folder. So, now the URL should read www.marketing91.com/advertising/ for the advertising blog. I have one question though. In the sub folder, can we use the same installation of wordpress as applicable on marketing91.com?? I have a wordpress installed at marketing91.com. I dont want another wordpress to be installed in marketing91.com/advertising/. Instead, i would like to manage both url from the same wordpress installation. So how do i do that? Our urls for adwords are slightly different from current urls presented on site (weused htaccess to help create shorter urls). How important is it that the adwords url match the sitemap url for keywords on those pages?
Hello, We have dynamic urls that we have made into short urls through htaccess and code manipulation. Some of our adwords urls are different from our page urls - for example a) Latest version of page www.abc.com/x-y-z.html b) Previous version of url www.abc.com/x+y+z.html c) raw original version www.abc.com/yyy/zzz?category=X&Product-code=Y etc etc. Would my ranking for keywords on the page improve if I diligently made all of them the same? They all go to the same page even now, and no 404 errors or anything. Thanks Sam

Hello, My website have been running over five years. I have just reviewed and seen some URLs had not good. It is http://www.vietnamvisacorp.com/faqs/who-need-visa-to-vietnam---1.html, containing characters "---1". Should I remove unnecessary characters "---"?. Thanks for any advice!

Importance of URL Structure
We are trying to restructure our onpage SEO and want to make sure we have our URLs correct. http://www.firebrandtraining.co.uk/courses/cisco/ccna_2007.asp which are not ideal but user experience aside does it make sense for us to change the URLs and use 301 redirects to the new ones or is the damage done to our natural rankings simply not worth making the change? I have read different articles saying different things, some say that URL structure has little weight (if any weight at all) on rankings while other people seem to say it is quite important. In addition we have heard that changing the URLs with a 301 redirect will cause a large drop in ranking which will take months to recover from and contrarily that 301s are now considered "ok" by Google and we shouldn't see too much change at all in our rankings. How do I do a 301 Redirect in IIS 7 from http://www.freightmonster.com/index.html to http://freightmonster.com/index.html when I don't have a physical page to redirect?

Sitemap generator and /index.htm
I use DMX Zone sitemap generator in Dreamweaver. When generating the sitemap, it includes both http://www.domain.com and http://www.domain.com/index.htm. Should the /index.htm be deleted from the sitemap, or will the 301 redirect take care of that? Best,
