Outreach with your own name
-
I always send outreach under my own name. I use either my private e-mail address or an own e-mail address from the clients domain. I just send out 10 emails and I did get 6 replays which 4 of them started about my SEO background . The response rate was great, but my SEO background isn’t in this case.
How do you guys handle this situation?
I have always used my own name because it feels right. It’s also handy in case I pick up the phone or visit an link prospect in person.
The disadvantage is that people directly doubt my sincerity or they want to sell me a paid placement.
Love to hear your take on this.

Hi Andy,
Thanks for sharing. I stumbled upon it right after I posted this discussion on the Q&A. It's an great video and does indeed gives a lot of helpfull information!

Hi Bob,
Have a watch of Rands Whiteboard Friday on Outreach here. He talks about many aspects of outreach and you can probably pick up some great ideas.

Hi Josh, thanks and you're right. I should just deal with that fact. Mabye take some more time to get to learn the partners I'm focusing on before throwing in an request or what so ever and see if that could set me a bit futher apart from what most people consider spam.

Thanks taking the time to repond Dmitrii! This really helps.

Yes, it does. Why is it bad? I assume that for your own outreach you are "outreaching" about seo stuff.
As for non-seo related companies - I usually use our clients info@ email or marketing@ email.
That way it's not related to me, but the company. If you do want to use your own name, then I don't think there is a way to go around your problem.
As for this: "people directly doubt my sincerity or they want to sell me a paid placement" - it's always going to be present and I don't think there is a way to get rid of it, unless your clients' companies become very authoritative in their fields.

When i e-mail them as Bob, or Bob from Client company X they Google my name (my last name is in the e-mailadres and in my senders name) and find out pretty quickly I'm an SEO. Today this was even 4 out of 10 people I e-mailed.
They replay with stuff like "I can see you're an SEO professional" and other related messages.
Did this clearify the explanation for you?

can you explain what you mean here:
I did get 6 replays which 4 of them started about my SEO background . The response rate was great, but my SEO background isn’t in this case.

What happens to your domain authority if you are forced to change your website name?
Out of curiosity if for legal reason you or a client were forced to change their domain name, what happens to all of your domain authority once you lose the old domain? While you still own the domain you can easily redirect any old links to your new website, but what happens if you no longer own that domain and someone else purchases it? Do they steal all of your domain authority? Or is it possible to keep those old links pointing toward your website?

Backlink and Citations: "Google my business" title name too long!?
Here is my situation.
Link Building | | H.M.N.
I am currently doing backlinks and citations for one of our clients. The title name of the client on "Google my Business" is 75 characters. However, for most citation or back link websites, the limit for the title is 50 characters. Here are my questions: How important is it to have the exact same title in citations and backlinks? If it is, is the only solution to change the name on google to have only 50 characters? Thanks in advance for your help!0 -

Who to outreach from?
Hey guys, I hope you can all help settle an office debate? When doing outreach for a client who do you send it from and why? I don't want to bias the answers so not going to go into much detail at this stage but I guess there are 3 possibilities (happy to hear others though): From an individual with an agency email address From an individual with a client email address From a persona (fictional third party) It would be great to hear your thoughts on where you send outreach emails from and why. Thanks!!

Help with outreach emails for content marketing
Hello, Could I get some feedback on how to make a good outreach email? I'm using buzzstream and Rand's awesome whiteboard friday. Here's what I've put together: Hi [first name] have you seen this [our niche] article? Paragraph 1 (short paragraph) comments on what the person is involved in, and ask them how these things are going Paragraph 2 (short paragraph) talks about how I've shared and retweeted their recent important posts. Paragraph 3 (short paragraph) Asks if they would link to our article. This niche article is really useful and needed to these people. Paragraph 4 (short paragraph) I'm not sure how to reasearch and put something interesting here. [my name] co-owner [our website]

Affiliate Banner File Names?
Hello, I have this certain website. Is has an affiliate/referral system. Within this system I am adding affiliate banners for our members to use in order to promote the site. They are also getting paid for each referral of course. There is a little box where they can copy and paste the code and it contains the image and a link to the home page with their referral ID. So my question is, should I make these file names keyword rich? I am wondering if that would have any kind of SEO impact when they are linking to my website? Does it matter about the file name and ALT tag when it is on their website, but pointing to mine? Or will that only help their website? If it will not have any effect at all then I will just use the basic 300x300 type file name for them. Thanks in advance,

Domain name holding pages link back, good or bad?
We are a web design and hosting company http://www.spiralsites.com But when we register domains for clients, or they take email only or a name is parked we have it using a holding page which can be seen as follows: http://www.jcevents.co.uk/ is this a good thing? Bad thing? Could it would it should it benefit our rankings? Should we do more to make it look less like our main site and actually try to use it better to help rank our other services pages?

Linkbuilding for Clients? Do I create new email account for outreach?
Hey Guys, So in the past when I would build links for a client I would create a new email account or have them create a new email account for their website which I can use for email outreach for building links. Also I would try to use their twitter user accounts to get in contact with other niche bloggers for a potential link back or a social mention. Is this how you guys suggest I should continue going about building links for a client? Or do you suggest using my email (agency email) or a random gmail account for email outreach? Thanks
