How to make same places listings show up for variations of brand term?
-
My client's brand name is a similar case to "Dolce & Gabbana" in terms of two names with an ampersand in between.
There is also a high number of searches for a spelled out 'and' in between, i.e. "Dolce and Gabbana" using this example.
In fact, if you perform a search for both variations, you will notice that only the first version with the "&" shows a places listing in the results. The same is happening when people search for my client.
Is there a way to ensure that different variations of my clients' brand searches display with places listings in SERPs?
Thanks.

No my client is based in the UK. I'll check for mapmaker functionality on My Business interface. Thank you!

Hi Dina,
Unfortunately, no, there is no way to ensure that Google will show your GMB data for a branded search with a different spelling of your name. You're not alone in asking about this (https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/business/FwNJpoLy0vE;context-place=topicsearchin/business/ampersand). If your GMB page lists you as '&', this is a very strong signal to Google that this is your business name. It could be possible to overcome this if there were enough incidental references to your business as 'and' around the web, but I can't recommend building citations this way as you really do need to pick one version and go with it.

GMB Listing Radius for Areas Served
I know with the google my business listing that if you have someone provides services at a customer home you can include the radius or specific cities. I just came across a listing that seems to have a different way of showing this on the map - https://goo.gl/maps/f1xgEvYnPqF2. Does anyone know how this is possible?

Transferring ownership of a listing and renaming it - what can happen?
Hi All, We have a local business with multiple store fronts. We've recently bought a competitors store front, that store front has a local Google listing. We would like to do 2 things: 1. Transfer the ownership of the listing from their accounts to ours. 2. Renaming and re-branding the listing (and of course the office) My questions is, what can happen once we do that? Transferring the ownership is a simple task as i've seen it on Googles guidelines so is renaming it (technically speaking). Will this affect the listing itself? Rankings/Verification and anything else that may come up? Thanks a lot for the answers!

Not showing in local for primary keyword
I have a client in the junk removal business and I can't get him to show in local for junk removal +city. Junk removal is not a Google Plus category so we have to choose Garbage Collection Service, which everyone else does as well. I've optimized the site and the local listing pretty well, much better than the competitors, but we're still not showing. It's not that we're asking to rank better, we're just trying to get on the list for the one term that makes all the difference in this business. I feel like there's a junk removal party going on and we're not invited. I've thought about a possible over-optimization penalty, but there's no G warning or message and we use fewer keywords than our competitors and have no spammy links as some of the competition does. Some companies that are no longer in business are visible. I just can't figure out what we might be doing wrong. Any ideas or suggestions I might have missed?

Can We Outrank The Google Places Local Listing 7 pack in 2015?
Hello everyone, I would like to know if it's possible and if any of you had success outranking / ranking above the Google Local Listing 7 pack? I am in Canada and every time I search for something like (city+dentist) (toronto dentist) I do not see any organic result above the 7 pack. I searched for like 10 city and every searches the local listing are the first to show up and the organic result under it. So I did not see any organic result outranking the Google Places and I look at like 10 different city if not more. So I would like to know If i can rank above them for organic results with no Google places, with no physical address, local phone number and/or citations even if there is currently no organic result showing up above them ? What do you guys think ? Thank You

Should my website link to my google business listing given that I already link from google business to my website ?
I have a website with individual Location Landing Pages for each of my Depots. I also have individual Google Local Business Listings for each of my depots. Should I have a link from my Website Location Landing Pages to the associated Google local Business listings or not ?... Given that I already have a link on my Google Business listing to the relevant Location Page on my website. I wasn't sure whether linking both ways would be more beneficial thus enforcing things better or whether it's not needed to link both ways . thanks Pete

Local Medical Practice Listing Question
We have 4 separate locations for an OB-GYN practice. They are XYZ OB-GYN and are affiliated with ABC Health System. All of these OBGYN offices are located in buildings belonging to ABC Health System with multiple practices (other doctors). Two of the locations have seperate suite numbers & two don't. How do we promote our OBGYN practices if they have the same address (with no suite number) as the other practices in the same exact building? I don’t believe Google wants multiple listings for separate practices that are using the same address without a suite number.

What does this message from Google Places really mean??
Hi people, today I've got this message from Google Places. I Don't know what that exactly means. when I look in my places account, I can find no "more information" and I see no issue?? Here's the message: _Hello, We’d like to inform you that Google Places no longer accommodates more than one authorised owner per business location. Your account contains one or more listings that have been identified as duplicates of other listings and as a result, some of the information that you provide will not be shown to Google users any more. To get more information or request access to the other listings, please log into your Google Places account. Yours sincerely,
