On page grader not working with Squarespace?
-
The on page grader tool does not seem to be able to access Squarespace websites. I've tried several website urls that are all hosted on square space with the same result "Sorry, but that URL is inaccessible." Is this a known incompatibility or a bug?
examples:
lightningjar.agency (a site I manage)
flotrend.com (a site that a friend manages)
ollymoss.com (a site chosen at random from SquareSpace.com featured websites list)

I am receiving crawl errors for squarespace website. Can someone please help. Thanks
-
Hi, Nicholas and all. I got successful crawl reports starting in early Feb 2016 with the squarespace website I was optimizing. I am no longer working on that website so I cannot go check right now to ensure it is still working. And I do not remember having a problem with the on-page grader. Perhaps if you contact Moz support which is what I did. They responded quickly and kept me informed of progress towards a solution that worked for me.
-
Six months on and this is still not fixed? For what you charge (both Squarespace and Moz) you need to find a solution.
-
Hi. I am experiencing the same issue. Testing it out on two sites, one responds positively to the workaround mentioned above. The other part does in that the report tells me the page is not accessible in the report and the rest of the report works fine, rather than as a blanket warning.
-
I am getting the same issue - is there a resolve or workaround?
-
Crawl reports for http://www.bedbuglaundryandprep.com are getting 403 errors and a "blocked by robots.txt" error. I contacted squarespace who told me there was a known issue with moz.com that was being worked. Any idea if this will be fixed?
-
The workaround is on our end and it is already in place. I've tested running on-page reports and campaigns for a number of Squarespace sites and I'm not seeing any current issues trying to crawl or access these pages. If you can let me know the URL you are trying to check (or email help@moz.com with the details) I can look into this further for you.
-
Mine works the same way. This is a work around that I can use. Thanks!
-
Thank you Chiaryn,
Is the work around to be done on my end or Moz's? I am still getting "Sorry, but that URL is inaccessible."
-
In all likelihood, this is not related to the Squarespace issue, but actually to the .agency tld. Since pretty much anything can be used as a tld now, but our crawlers were built before this was allowable, we aren't set up to automatically recognize custom tlds. The standalone on-page grader is our oldest and most rudimentary crawler tool, so it is also updated the least frequently.
You can create a campaign for lightningjar.agency with no issue and there you would get on-page grades from our newly updated campaign on-page grader that is much more accurate.
-
I'm still experiencing the same issue when I enter the custom URL I set up in SquareSpace for my website. But after some experimentation I found out the On Page Grader Tool will work if I use the default Square Space system URL.
https://lightning-jar.squarespace.com/ = works
http://www.lightningjar.agency = does not work

I'm so sorry! I didn't see your reply previously. I was just coming back to the thread to say that we have found a temporary workaround that should fix the issue while we work on a more permanent solution. I hope that is still helpful to you and, again, I apologize for not following up with you sooner.
-
Has there been any update to this? My SS sites are getting the same thing still and if this can't be resolved, I'll have to find other solutions.
-
I'm really sorry that you're running into this issue! We recently discovered that Squarespace's automated server systems have blocked our bot from accessing sites they host with a 403 Forbidden status. We are working with them to find a resolution to this block, but I am afraid that I am not certain if or when this will be resolved.
I apologize for the inconvenience this causes! Thank you for bearing with us while we work to get this resolved.

Page Grader states "includes Canonical Tag" but it's not in the page source at all
I've ran it multiple times and changed other things it picked up on so not sure where it's getting the canonical tag is included even though it isn't?

Moz Pro: Redirect Chain warning given to pages that don't have redirects
When I look up crawl errors for a page, I'm always told the page suffers from redirect chaining. However, when I do a redirect check (in this case, using the Redirect Path Chrome extension), it indicates that my page does not use a redirect. Why would Moz detect redirects, while no other redirect checker resource does? For example, this URL gets Moz's redirect chain warning: https://www.aem.org/news/january-2018/5-reasons-iot-projects-fail/ But there is no redirect associated with this URL.

I keep getting a 429 Too Many Request error for a wp-login page on my website. Is there a way to prevent that from happening, or fix outside of redirecting on the back end of WordPress?
I have a client that keeps coming up with 429 Too Many Request critical crawl errors. I re-directed some of them on the back end of WordPress, but additional keep coming in. The URL has a WP-Login and directs to back end login section. Is there a reason that would come up as an error, how can I prevent it from happening again, and how can I fix the remaining current errors outside of redirecting back to /? Thanks, Kalyn Lengieza

Comparing Competitor On-Page Grades?
When I run an advanced SERP report or even the basic keyword difficultly report it gives me competitor On-page grades. I can look directly at their code, but I'm wondering if there is a way to easily see and export a .csv or excel file of the on-page ranking factors for the top 1-10 results comparing them to a page on my site? Seems like that would be really helpful and much quicker than looking at source code to understand what on-page factors are contributing to their success. Is there any way to do this in Moz or a free tool elsewhere you would suggest?

Moz's on-page grader
Hello, I am having an issue with Moz's on-page grader. Grading the page, http://www.babyklar.dk/tigerspring/26-ugers-springet.html for the keyword 'Tigerspring 26 uger' I am receiving the error message: 'Exact keyword is used in page title' - tagging it as a highly important but easy fix. But I only have the words "Tigerspring 26 uger" in the title, so how can this not grade as Exact keyword? Is there somthing wrong with the system? Or is it me? Thanks very much. Best regards

My product pages have no weight / links from root domains with the Moz tool bar
Hi, When I view my home page (http://www.arkwildlife.co.uk) with the Moz toolbar, I see a good PA and a good amount of links from root domains. As I go down the site, it seems to get worse. The category pages (http://www.arkwildlife.co.uk/Category/0/Straight_Foods.html) have a little but not much and then from this point onwards, it's nothing. The product page (http://www.arkwildlife.co.uk/Item/Straight_Foods~Sunflower_Seeds/SUNH/Premium_Sunflower_Hearts.html) is reporting to have no root domain links but I am not sure why. Interestingly, when I click through to a review page (http://www.arkwildlife.co.uk/StockReview/0/SUNH/0/Premium_Sunflower_Hearts.html) it does have some juice. Would anyone be able help on why this is happening and what I need to be looking at in order to resolve it please? EDIT: I've been looking at the hyperlinks and notice something odd. If I review the score with the first link below, it gives a score of 1, but the second gives a PA of 13 with one root domain linked. 1:http://www.arkwildlife.co.uk/Item/Straight_Foods~Sunflower_Seeds/SUNH/Premium_Sunflower_Hearts.html 2:http://www.arkwildlife.co.uk/Item/Straight_Foods%7ESunflower_Seeds/SUNH/Premium_Sunflower_Hearts.html Please note the "%7E" instead of the "~" in the URL. The browser appears to show the ~ character no matter what but the rank of the page changes. I don't understand what the Moz toolbar is doing with this. Note: This behaviour only happens in Mozilla Firefox, in chrome both the rankings are zero for each URL. Many Thanks.
