D.A. and Link Juice from certain websites

Hello,
i'm a bit confused concerning some link buildings.
What happens with backlinks from blogs coming from powerful domains such as abc.yahoo.com or abc**.over-blog.com or abc.blogspot.com?** Meaning, everyone that creates a blog over there will have a PA of 0/100 but a DA of 80 or 90/100.
Will Google consider DA on these cases?I'm confused because it can't be that simple that someone creates a website, and after some months they will have like 10 PA but still the 90/100 DA and their links can be a powerful backlink.
Can you explain me how Google sees that?
So, if I have a link coming from a blog on those domains will it be better than any other with same PA but lower DA?

Apologies for the long wait for a response! It's sort of a convoluted answer.
For practical purposes, the search engines treat subdomains as their own separate domains. So, even though Blogger.com has a DA of 92, if you were to start a blog there you'd still be "starting over" when it comes to building link authority. A new blog there will notbenefit from blogger.com's existing authority.
Where Open Site Explorer and the Mozscape index are concerned, though, you'll still see a DA of 92 on that new, not-yet-established blog. In the simplest terms, that's because OSE calculates _domain _authority, not subdomain authority.
So, in this case, Page Authority would be the better metric by which to evaluate your new blog, as it will be specific to the home page at yourblog.blogger.com.

Poor internal linking?
Hi guys, Have a large e-commerce site 10,000 pages as a client and they are currently not getting much organic traffic to their level 3 sub-category pages, the URLs are like: https://www.domain.com.au/category/s...-category-type These pages have been on-page optimised, category content added, yet hardly any traffic. However the site level 1, level 2 pages do quite well. So this suggests this might be an internal linking issue? The site is definitely not penalized and as enough authority for these level 3 pages to rank. Any ideas would be very much appreciated! Cheers.

Internal Linking
Hi I've been looking over my pages and it says for this page for example http://www.key.co.uk/en/key/1-6kw-halogen-heater I have too many links, I think it was about 178. These links are from the menu and bottom of the page - how much of an issue is this for internal linking structure? I wouldn't want to remove the menus or change them too much. Thank you!

Do 404s really 'lose' link juice?
It doesn't make sense to me that a 404 causes a loss in link juice, although that is what I've read. What if you have a page that is legitimate -- think of a merchant oriented page where you sell an item for a given merchant --, and then the merchant closes his doors. It makes little sense 5 years later to still have their merchant page so why would removing them from your site in any way hurt your site? I could redirect forever but that makes little sense. What makes sense to me is keeping the page for a while with an explanation and options for 'similar' products, and then eventually putting in a 404. I would think the eventual dropping out of the index actually REDUCES the overall link juice (ie less pages), so there is no harm in using a 404 in this way. It also is a way to avoid the site just getting bigger and bigger and having more and more 'bad' user experiences over time. Am I looking at it wrong? ps I've included this in 'link building' because it is related in a sense -- link 'paring'.

How to Have Flat Navigation w/out Diluting Link Juice
I have a client with a very flat navigational structure relying on a menu with CSS hover dropdowns using simple items to get to just about every page on the site through the main navigation on every page. They want this ability to remain. The issue is stat is send link juice all over and does not concentrate into pages that are key search landing pages. I don't want to "no Index" "follow" the less important pages since there are some brand related long tail searches that I would want these pages found. These are useful pages to consumers who are already engaged with the brand, but not ones we would not care to rank for outside of branded search. If there was a way to have some links be non-crawled via javascript (or some other method) and those that are more important use a more standard html type link that would seem ideal. Does anyone have a suggestion for menu tool or technique for exposing to consumers all the links to consumers but restricting google bot's path while being in line with Google Webmaster guideslines? Will Canonical tag on parameter URLs remove those URL's from Index, and preserve link juice?
My website has 43,000 pages indexed by Google. Almost all of these pages are URLs that have parameters in them, creating duplicate content. I have external links pointing to those URLs that have parameters in them. If I add the canonical tag to these parameter URLs, will that remove those pages from the Google index, or do I need to do something more to remove those pages from the index? Ex: www.website.com/boats/show/tuna-fishing/?TID=shkfsvdi_dc%ficol (has link pointing here)

Links from Directories
We are currently listed in a number of Association Buyer's Guides. We signed up for these last year in an effort to increase our external links. With recent Panda changes, do these links carry any value for us?
