Ranking at 2 and 3 for a Desired Keyword - But Missing #1
I have a keyword I usually rank #1 for "Maui Beach Wedding" that I am now ranking 2 and 3 for with two separate聽pages below: My home page: https://simplemauiwedding.net and the below internal page I am linking from my home page that I really want that term to rank for. https://simplemauiwedding.net/beach-wedding-packages What is the best way to pass the authority from one to another for this particular keyword. I want this URL聽https://simplemauiwedding.net/beach-wedding-packages to rank for the term, not my home page which has a link pointing to this page from my home page which I was hoping would point the authority to it for the term. What are some other ways to signal which page I prefer Google to pick up for the keyword I want to rank for? Thanks

New website showing old domain titles in search
Hello Moz, We have recently built a new website聽http://www.hegroup.org.uk/ The new site has the domain for one of the clients old sites pointing to it - heartofmersey.org.uk. When we check the SEO index (site:hegroup.org.uk) for the new site, most of of the indexed items are using the old 'Heart of Mersey' title in the index although these do redirect to the new site. See below. Heart of Mersey <cite class="_Rm">www.hegroup.org.uk/</cite>Jessica Bell 路 Andrew Bennett 路 Nicola Calder 路 Matt Donnelly 路 Alexandra Holt 路 Robin Ireland 路 Magdalena Kolka 路 Alison Gradwell 路 Matthew Philpott 路 Trustees. Not sure how to resolve this issue. Any suggestions Thanks Ian

Subdomain SERPS are different from the root domain SERPS
I am fairly new to SEO so bare with me. I created two campaigns within Moz, one tracking the sudomain www.mysite.com and another tracking just the root domain mysite.com. When I look at the keyword rankings I get different results from Google, Bing and Yahoo. For instance, the root domain shows rankings in Bing and Yahoo, but "Not in top 50" for Google. For my subdomain, it is reversed. I see rankings for Google, but "not in top 50' for Bing and Yahoo. What can I do to solve this issue? I am using canonical tags, but it is a domain redirect issue? Thanks in advance

Google showing my content on the serps in a different domain
Hi all, Recently a partner of ours discovered that Google is showing a meta description on the serps for his homepage that is not his but ours. On his site, he sells add-ons for our software, so the name of our software appears many times and as well there are many links pointing to our site. He claims he hasn麓t copied this text from us, and I have used some tools to verify this. I don麓t understand how Google can get confused and show our text as the meta desctiption on the serps for his homepage. Any idea on why this happened?

2 Duplicate pages. One Showing "/"
In SEOMoz report I have 2 pages showing that are identical in name/URL apart from the fact that one ends with the / symbol and one doesnt'. They are both showing as having too many on-page links. But one shows 106 links and the other shows 106. In clients' admin section I can only find evidence of the page without the /. I wonder if anyone could advise how best to move forward? Colin

Domain
Hello Team, I purchased a domain that's been around for a long time and I have built some decent pr to it. However, when I Google the domain name/future company name VIP Real Estate, it doesn't appear anywhere. Could it be that the domain name has a penalty? Thanks!

Long or Short URLs. Who's Coming to Dinner?
This has been discussed on the forums in some regard. My situation. Example 1 Long Keyword URL: www.abctown.com/keyword-for-life-helping-keywords-everywhere-rank-better Example 2 Short Keyword URL: www.abctown.com/keyword In both examples I want to improve rankings for the "keyword" phrase. My current URL is example 1. And I've landed a page one ranking in Google (7) with that URL. In attempts to improve rankings further (top 5), I was toying with the idea of going聽simpler聽with all my URLs in favor of the example 2 model. Might this method help or hurt my current rankings? In recent articles I've read it seems that going with the simpler more human approach to my SEO efforts. Any thought would be appreciated. Cheers,

Can someone please help me identify where all these URLS to my homepage are coming from?
Hi. I installed the SEOmoz toolbar for Firefox, and analyzed my home page, then clicked on 'get a full site analysis at Site Explorer'. This is what came up: http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/www.frs-solutions.com%252Fcontent%252Fhome/a!links?src=mb I hope that link works. If not, the URL is www.frs-solutions.com Anyway, there are about 57 different URLS within my site all pointing to my homepage! I have no idea where they are coming from. Can someone with an experienced eye take a quick look and tell me what I might be up against? Thank you!
