What is the "UPDATE" indicate in the Google Search Console Query Reports?
-
We recently noticed an update note in the Google Search Console that happened on April 27th. Does this denote an algorithm update?
Any feedback or article would really be helpful.
Thanks!

If you hover over the line you'll get a "Learn More" link. After much fiddling with the mouse and buttons you can get to it and it will detail all the recent updates.

Thanks Eric. This was a very helpful response however I just one other question. John Mueller noted that "local results in Search (which are now all counted as URL impressions)." Does this include clicks as well? We saw one of our local clicks experience a huge increase in both impressions/clicks. However John Mueller didn't say anything about clicks.

It means that Google updated the data on April 27th. John Mueller from Google wrote about it here.
It is related to how Search Console reports & calculates clicks and impressions in Search Analytics.
"As a result, you may see a change in the click, impression, and CTR values shown there. For most sites, this change will be minimal. A significant part of this change will affect website properties with associated mobile app properties. Specifically, it involves accounting for clicks and impressions only to the associated application property rather than to the website. Other changes include how we count links shown in the Knowledge Panel, in various Rich Snippets, and in the local results in Search (which are now all counted as URL impressions)."

Can I redo my submitted sitemap to Google?
We are a electronic hardware manufacture with a fairly large catalog of products. I dynamically built our site and we have over 705,000 unique products that we can offer. With our php framework I was able to create sitemaps that hold every product unique url. After doing all of that I submitted our data to Google. Then waited with a cocktail encouraged that we'd grow up the ranks of Google organically. Well, that didn't happen. Besides several other problems (lack of overall unique content, appearance of duplicate content, no meta description, no unique page titles, poor use of heading tags and no rel canonical tags) how can I get a "do-over" with Google and my submitted sitemaps? Can they be re-submitted? Can they even be deleted?

Google Analytics Real Time Not Working! :(
Hello Everyone, Today, the real time feature in my google analytics stopped working. I am able to see that traffic is visiting my site, but not in real time. The real time count is usually at 0. But, there are some instances where real time will come back online, but there will be only 1 unique visitor. At any given time, our website usually has 20 visitors or so..Has anyone encountered this issue? Where should i start looking for fixes? What are the possible problems? Thanks!

Identifying Bots in Google Analytics
Hi there, While you can now filter out bots and spiders in Google Analytics, I'm interested in how you identify a bots and spiders in the first place. For example, it used to be thought that Googlebot wouldn't appear in GA as it 'couldn't process Javascript' but now Google has announced new developments for its crawler with regards to interpreting javascript and CSS, this argument isn't as cut and dry. I'm not suggesting Googlebot appears in Google Analytics, but I am saying that you can't make the case that it won't appear only because it can't interpret JavaScript. So, I'm interested to see what metrics you use to identify a bot? For me, the mix of Users > Browser, Users > Operating System Version is still quite handy, but is it possible to identify individual bots and spiders within Google Analytics? And would Googlebot appear?

Google Tag Assistant for Chrome
I'm using the Google Tag Assistant for Chrome, and I noticed something really weird. No matter what pages I look at, the same two GA tags show up. It's weird. You can see the tag that is "working", and then there are two repeats. For example, when I look at this page, I see the GA tag that is working and then all the remarketing tags. Then I see UA-36732895-1 repeated twice. Anyone have any idea what this is? Thanks!

How can our website rank on page 3 in google.co.uk and yet it ranks on page 20 for the same keyword on google.com? This doesn't seem to affect our competitors though and its only our site that is being affected/penalized.
