Where do I find Search Console metrics?
-
Much of my reporting process relies on data directly from Search Console.
- Is MozPro integrated with Search Console?
- Can metrics such as impressions be built into custom reports?
- How can I aggregate organic avg time /session duration and bounce rates?
- I see major inbound link data discrepancies between Search Console and Moz - is this normal?
- Where can I find indexed page volumes?
-
Hi there! Tawny from Moz's Help Team here with some answers for ya.
1. Unfortunately, Moz Pro doesn't integrate with Google's Search Console. Sorry about that!
2. Since we don't track things like impressions on ads, we can't build those metrics in to Custom Reports in Moz Pro, I'm afraid.
3. I'm not sure that I know of a way to aggregate organic average time/session duration and bounce rates within Moz Pro. That may be something that would need to be done directly in Search Console or Google Analytics.
4. It's not uncommon to see fairly large discrepancies between inbound links in Google's index and in our Mozscape index. Our index is big and growing all the time, but it's nowhere near as extensive as Google's massive, multi-million dollar index is. Our index is aiming to show the highest quality links coming from the most authoritative sites, but that might mean that we miss some of the links coming to your site.
5. I'm not sure that there's anywhere in our tools that would show you indexed page volumes. Were you just hoping to see the number of pages we've indexed? I'm not sure that that number is available anywhere, unfortunately.I hope this helped! If you still have questions, feel free to write in to us at help@moz.com and we'll do our best to answer them all!

Best way to find keyword volume data for lists
Hi Mozzers! I have a workflow question. I like to browse for keywords by hitting the SERPs and getting Related Keywords, People Also Search For, and Long-Tail Variants using various tools. I then scoop up these entries and paste them into a spreadsheet. The next step would be to find search volume data. Does Moz Explorer offer a good way to find this data for lists of keywords? I see how to get this info for one keyword at a time, but I'm interested in getting KW volume for a list, either by pasting KWs into a field or uploading a spreadsheet. I recall using the Google Keyword Planner once for this purpose, but I wonder if Moz also offers a way. I am a Moz Pro user. Thanks in advance for your advice. AK

Odd search page behaviour (missing description)
Hey folks, in our page crawl errors we are getting 1000's (literally) of missing description errors on our search page - see attached image for what I mean. I have no idea how these are being generated as crawled links? Any help would be appreciated as it would really clean up our errors! qAzah

Is Search Visibility giving a fair comparison with your competition?
I dived into the Search Visibility metric and what it actually says. In short, I believe it to be an aggregated score for all keywords targeted. However, our list of targeted keywords also include specific 'branded' keywords (and e.g. names of company leaders), which (presumably) aren't targeted by our competition. So what does the comparison with our competitors (i.e. Search Visbility x Competition graph) actually tell us? Isn't it giving a skewed impression? (Or are keywords labeled as 'branded' not taken into consideration in the Search Visibility metric?)

Long tail searches
I maintain a site that provides access to bankruptcy records. I want to try an optimize the site for searches involving the case name and generic terms like "bankruptcy filing". So, the keyword would be "(case name) bankruptcy filing". How do I use Moz to help when the number of case names is high (100,000+)? Any other suggestions for what to do when working on long tail matches?

One of the actions we are looking at is backlinks, however we have limited budget and want to work with domains that have high DA in order to help us, I assume this is good idea for us to do? Question, how can I easily identity domains that have high DA relevant to my sector? so I can engage in backlinks conversation David

Where to find answers to really dumb questions about setting up Moz campaigns...
I had a Moz account earlier this year, let it drop for a few months, then decided it really was important to have one. So I'm back. But there is still something about it that I really find frustrating. I can't seem to find any answers to what seem to be basic questions. Maybe they are too simple, maybe they are just dumb questions, but I sure would appreciate it if somebody could lead me to another source of information. Maybe somebody has written a "Moz for Dummies" book? Here's an example: I'm setting up campaigns for my websites, and I get to the Brand and Mentions section. It tries to autofill the space using my campaign name, but that's not accurate. So I go look at the Help Hub for Brands and Mentions, and it gives an example using MOZ as the brand name. But not many sites have a three-letter domain name, do they?. One of my domains is EasyDigging.com (2 words) and the other is BestDryingRack.com (3 words). So I look and look, but can't find any examples of longer domain names. So I have no idea how to enter my Brand. Should it be the whole "EasyDigging.com" or should it just be "EasyDIgging" or should it be broke up into "Easy Digging"? This is just 1 example. I find these sort of unanswered questions almost every time I try something new. Is there a collection of examples anywhere? I really hope so. Surely there are others who learn best from examples, who hate having to guess based on slim or vague instructions. Keeping my fingers crossed that somebody can lead me to the goldmine of good examples. Thanks!
