Can anyone suggest how they're #1

Hi,
I'm really struggling to see how these guys are number one on google (from the UK) when searching for "picture framers york"
Their SEOMOZ on page grading for the term is an F, so on site SEO is minimal if any.
Their backlinks are almost nonexistant, take a look at the competition report (attached) through market samurai. Everything I thought I understand about SEO is currently being turned on its head because with the information available, they shouldn't be there.
I thought maybe its the proximity to 'York' center, but they aren't that close to be honest.
So any advice greatly appreciated as to why they are #1 so I know what it is I can do as an SEO.

Shame I cropped the picture a little early, as the site that's in the #11 spot is 100% exact match domain.
As they have no reported back links, except 1 to domain, I still fail to see why google would rank them at all?

Its not exactly an exact match domain but the URL is close to the suggested keyphrase. Also they have a Google Places page set up with a couple of reviews so that will be helping. Although many people talk down the current and future relevance of the exact match domain (or closely matched domain) it can still be quite powerful at present.
Unique relevant content and authoratitive relevant links are what you can aim to do as an SEO. Just because that site is ranking for that term now and seems to not be conforming to SEO best practices doesn't mean that the site you are working on should ignore these key SEO principals

My competitor's sneaky link building technique
Hi, I can't figure out how my competitor seems to fit four invisible nav menus into her home page. If you view her page source and type "/about" for example, it shows five examples of the text linking to her "about" page. But four of them can't be located on the web page (they are hidden). So What's Up With Those Crappy Search Results?
I used to rank for some keywords now I've been outranked by crappy websites. But what amazes me most is that among the top 10 results for a particular keyphrase, 3 of these results point to websites that are no longer online! Worst than that, these websites have to backlinks! So how come 404 pages / non-existing websites rank higher than I do? Is Google loosing it or are they trying to create so much confusion in the hope that website owners will turn to Adwords?

Reached No. 1 for my Keyword, what next?
Hi, After months of targeting, promoting etc... I have now reached Google.co.uk rank position 1 for my phrase "creative recreation trainers" and I stand at rank 3 on Google.com. I am happy with these results as this is the phrase I targeted and this is the brand I wanted to rank first for. But were do I go from here? I am thinking I change brand and try work some magic on that, but still continuing to add backlinks etc... to the Creative keyword phrase? What would people advise? Also can anyone do an analysis of any sort on that keyword phrase and/or the url http://www.designerboutique-online.com/all-clothing/creative-recreation/ and tell me some good points, bad points, what to do next and so on? Is SEM rush accurate enough to validate it's price?
I have been doing manual keyword research for some time now, but I am looking for something that can dig deep. I used to use the SEMrush API when i was a raven tools subscriber and it was great for identifying organic rankings for domains. Has anyone had a good experience with this software strictly for keyword research?

My client has shown me a similar site, though not a competitor. He wants to know what sites they are linked from that give them such a good Google rank for certain kewords. Can SEOMoz tell me this?
When using google.com.au and searching for "travel to france", www.frenchtravel.com.au is the 3rd organic result. (the 1st two are not travel businesses, they are non profit travel guides) My client, who runs www.visituk.com.au, an Australian site that organises tours of the UK, said "so we just need to add these sort of words to the site?" I said, yes, but it doesn't end there. The real task is to have a link to your site on other sites surrounded with the words "travel" and "UK". He asked if he could see a list of the sites the french site was being referred by relevant to the search phrase. Is there an SEOmoz tool for this? Or is there another way I can generate that list?
