How to implement Featured Snippets
-
Hi ,
I want to achieve Featured Snippets for my client (http://www.theoriginalflame.com). Could you anyone help me on this ?
-
I'm glad those resources helped!
There are lots of things you can do. You can frequent forums or Facebook groups to see what your target audience are talking about. Start discussions on Twitter or other social platforms. You could also put some content live and see if it resonates.
I would recommend starting with this Whiteboard Friday on knowing your audience
https://moz.com/blog/know-what-your-audience-wants-before-creating-content-whiteboard-friday
And this one on more data driven audience analysis
https://moz.com/blog/discovering-which-sites-your-target-audience-visits-whiteboard-friday
Let me know how you get on
Cheers!

Thank you Jo.
I have added some question-based keywords in the campaign as suggested in the above blogs. Could you tell me how can one assess who is asking these questions?
-
Hi there!
The basic process involves:
- Researching and gathering questions that have featured snippets
- Assessing who is asking these questions
- Analyse your content and update it to clearly help people asking these questions
- Work on your on-page optimization and overall site authority to get within striking distance of Featured Snippets
I can definitely recommend reading up on the resources we have on this topic.
Dr Pete has written a great guide here:
https://moz.com/blog/featured-snippets-from-start-to-finish
https://moz.com/blog/ranking-zero-seo-for-answers
Ronell has written about how to win snippets here
https://moz.com/blog/featured-snippets-a-deadsimple-tactic-for-making-them-stick
We also have a guide to tracking SERP Features with Moz Pro here:
https://moz.com/help/guides/moz-pro-overview/rankings/serp-features
I hope this helps, if there is anything else I can help you with please do let me know
Cheers!

Ecommerce Rich Snippets Category Question
Hello Technical question: I have category pages in my site - and product pages in my site. Category Pages I Have listed Grouped products on them ( i.e. a product that could have multiple offers for each size ) I Have the relevant markup for them ( one for each product ) . Product Pages The Product pages have grouped products as well - but the individual simple products are note marked up. The Product pages have Aggregate reviews on them. My question is this: Should I use the grouped product sku to identify the grouped product on the category page and the product page? Â Technically they aren't Stock Keeping Units ( SKU's ) - but they could be used to link the 2 together to avoid duplicates. Ideas?

How To Implement Pagination Properly? Important and Urgent!
I have seen many instructions but I am still uncertain. Here is the situation We will be implementing rel prev rel next on our paginted pages. The question is: Do we implement self referencing canonical URL on the main page and each paginated page? Do we implement noindex/follow meta robots tag on each paginated page? Do we include the canonical URL for each paginated page in the sitemap if we do not add the meta robots tag? We have a view all but will not be using it due to page load capabilities...what do we do with the viewl all URL? Do we add meta robots to it? For website search results pages containing pagination should we just put a noindex/follow meta robots tag on them? We have seperate mobile URL's that also contain pagination. Do we need to consider these pages as a seperate pagination project? We already canonical all the mobile URL's to the main page of the desktop URL. Thanks!

Whats the best way to implement rel = ânext/prevâ if we have filters?
Hi everyone, The filtered view results in paginated content and has different urls: example: https://modli.co/dresses.html?category=45&price=13%2C71&size=25 Look at what it says in search engine land: http://searchengineland.com/implementing-pagination-attributes-correctly-for-google-114970 Look at Advanced Techniques paragraph. do you agree? it seem like google will index the page multiple times for every filter variant. Thanks, Yehoshua

Acceptable use of availability attribute 'preorder' value in rich snippets schema markup and Google Shopping feed?
Hello all, Could someone please advise on acceptable use of the availability attribute 'preorder' value in rich snippets schema markup for our websites and the Google Shopping feed? Currently all of our products are either 'in stock' or 'out of stock', also mentioned was 'available for order' but I found that in the 2014 Google Shopping update, this value will be merged with 'in stock' here 'We are simplifying the âavailabilityâ attribute by merging âin stockâ with âavailable for orderâ and removing âavailable for orderâ. The products which we would like to mark as 'preorder' have been in stock and then sold out, however we have a due date for when they will come back into stock, so therefore the customer can preorder the product on our website i.e. pay in advance to secure their purchase and then they are provided with a due date for the products. Is this the correct use of the 'preorder' value, or does the product literally have to never have been released before? The guidance we have is: 'You are taking orders for this product, but itâs not yet been released.' Is this set in stone? Many thanks in advance and kind regards.

Sitewide rel author for rich snippets a disaster waiting to happen?
Hi, I've been looking at how various sites handle rel author tags linking to Google+ accounts to get rich snippets results. I've found more than a few that have the same code on every page, even though those actual pages clearly have different authors and some may not even mention the rel author's name. A site I'm working on has different authors for different pages. Although the convenience of putting the same rel author on every page seems dreamy, it also seems like a disaster waiting to happen, since it would appear to be trickery about who the author is and possibly one Google update away from disaster. Can you call a site owner or employee an author on pages that to the reader appear to be written by others? Am I being too cautious or what? Thanks! Cheers... Darcy

Rich Snippets Publisher errors
Hi all. Happen to do a bit of testing with some of our microformat and microdata markup when I noticed our linked Google+ Publisher markup has stopped working. It definitely was working, and nothings changed, but now we are flagging errors, and I've noticed some of our competitors also have the same problem. publisher linked Google+ page = https://plus.google.com/103929635387487847550

Error: This page does not include verified publisher markup. Learn more. If I actually add a duplicate rel="publisher" then I get the following results: Extracted Author/Publisher for this page publisherlinked Google+ page = https://plus.google.com/103929635387487847550
Error: This page does not include verified publisher markup. Learn more. publisherlinked Google+ page = https://plus.google.com/103929635387487847550/ The second line doesn't seem to flag an error? I know this is still all pretty new, so is anyone else having problems or odd results, or is Google having some problems? All our other rich snippets such as reviews etc are working fine, just seems to be the publisher bit. cheers Steve0
