Schema for Knowledge Graph Card
-
Hello, all!
I have a client who's Fortune 500 - has all the good "stuff" that is associated with pulling in proper info into the knowledge graph/company information box - Wikipedia, strong citations, etc., but the card is showing the wrong company type!
Has anyone had experience with influencing this via Schema or anything else clever?
Note that the correct company type is referenced in all the usual spots.
Thanks!

We added schema mark-up to our company website.
We needed it to improve the local seo, and sell more luxury summerhouses.
We also needed to add schema to the NAP information to highlight the business's name, address, and also the phone number.

This should be able to be edited in Google My Business. If you have the login information for the account this is linked to the Google Maps citation you are seeing, you should be able to login and edit the categories under the "Info" Tab.
If you do not have the login information for it, search the business name in Google Maps, go to "Suggest An Edit" and click on the category listed, it should cross it out and then you can suggest a new category for Google to review. This way does not guarantee it will change, but is worth a shot if you don't have the information to login to their GMB account. Best of success!

Anyone have a good process for Schema.org auditing?
I am looking to do a Schema.org audit across a large number of websites that all run on the same platform. I'm not really sure where to start and what format to use for a deliverable. I suppose starting by checking for errors on the current schema and documenting them and then moving on to additional schema that could be added to the JSON+LD? My last structured data audit I just used a spreadsheet and it didn't come out as neat as I would have liked. Anyone who has some experience in this, your input would be much appreciated!

Schema markup concerning category pages on an ecommerce site
We are adding json+ld data to an ecommerce site and myself and one of the other people working on the site are having a minor disagreement on things. What it comes down to is how to mark up the category page. One of us says it needs to be marked up with as an Itempage, https://schema.org/ItemPage The other says it needs to be marked up as products, with multiple product instances in the schema, https://schema.org/Product The main sticking point on the Itemlist is that Itemlist is a child of intangible, so there is a feeling that should be used for things like track listings or other arbitrary data.

Schema Markup for Multiple Locations
I am reaching out to see if I correctly set up Schema Markup on our website for multiple locations. Our company has HQ in Little Chute WI but we have 6 other office locations. We have a separate page for each office within our website. I inserted ProfessionalService Schema Markup, using GTM. I used the address of our HQ Little Chute office on all pages besides the 6 pages that have different office locations. I then individually set up unique ProfessionalService Schema Markup for the 6 locations with their unique location addresses. Did I do this correctly? Thanks

Can you expedite the correction of erroneous information on the Knowledge Graph?
I have a client who is a major player in the continuing education vertical. They have recently noticed that the Google Knowledge Graph is displaying erroneous information whenever somebody searches for their brand name (no matter the location/IP address). The brand Knowledge Graph is pulling information from a permanently closed location. Our client has multiple locations. Why Google decided to pull data from this particular (closed) location is beyond us. Our client has reclaimed the permanently closed location Google+ page and they are going to permanently delete it. However we are wondering if there is anyway to expedite the process of updating the Knowledge Graph. Is there anyway to submit feedback to Google about the KG? Is there anyway to request a Knowledge Graph correction? The erroneous "permanently closed" data is very embarrassing for our client.

Strategies for generating a knowledge panel for brand queries
Hello, I'm looking for any new ideas or experiences that might help in generating a knowledge panel for a brand query. I'm working with a company that has a strong brand, over 200K searches for the brand name alone each month, but they don't have a knowledge panel. When you search the brand name, the right side of the search results is just blank white space. Here are some of the things they do have, which tend to trigger a KP: Well built-out Wikipedia page Pages on Wikidata, Freebase, Crunchbase Home page organization schema Home page schema using sameas to connect the company to their social profiles, wikipedia page, and Freebase and Wikidata Hundreds of mentions in national press outlets Verified Twitter and Pinterest profiles (the same type of verification celebrities get) Generally, this all (and maybe even a lot less than this), would trigger a KP when you searched the brand name, but it just doesn't. No branded queries trigger a KP. It's interesting, because even the three smaller companies that they've acquired had (and still have) knowledge panels when you search those brands. So, I'm wondering if anyone has seen or worked through this behavior before? Or, even if not, any thoughts or ideas that we can do to nudge Google towards a KP for a branded search? Thanks!

Schema - LocalBusiness markup for national companies
If we are marking up schema for a company that does services nationally, but has one physical location, should we use LocalBusiness for the organization type? It's an advertising company that is based in North Carolina, but services companies nationally. Thanks as always friends!

Canonical and On-Page Report Card
Hello, One quick question about rel canonical. If i use SeoMoz amazing on-page optimization tool i get a grade B if i use www.mydomain.com and my keyword. I get a grade A if i use https://www.mydomain.com and same keyword. I get the grade B coz i don't get the check mark to "Appropriate Use of Rel Canonical" box. Should i use this rel canonical stuff if i am 301 redirecting www. version to https://www. version already. Regards, OÜInigo
