Background; selling childrens clothing (for norwegian market). main page is being optimized barneklær (children clothing) which is most used term. We ve been online for around 3 months and have gone from unranked to 25th spot on google for this term. We are selling clothes from 8 different producers which all have their own 'page' - were all their products are listed. e.g http://www.epleskrinet.no/dundelina/M_13 . This page i am optimizing for the producer which is dundelina. For this term i show up in spot 24, 25 and 44. My problem is that its not the producer page that show up but the 3 most popular products. The producer page isnt ranked at all.
What ive done so far is to have to producer link to my page from their site and blog (a week ago) - they were linking to my home page earlier. Ive put anchor text dundelina --> takes me to producer page on 4 out of 7 products. This was also done about a week ago.
I am planning a blog about dundelina pointing to the right URL. From our blog I am using. Ive posted a couple of pictures on facebook pointing to right URL.
Do i just need to be patient for this to be picked up or is there anything else i should do ?
Thanks ...

Alan,
Thanks for feedback. I ve written a mail to my website provider today. Most of what you are suggesting isnt available for me to change unfortunately. I think what you are suggesting will solve my problem fast.

Dan,
Here are a couple suggestions that always work for me on eCommerce sites.
1. for the highest level brand (producer) page such as this, the brand (producer)'s name should be the first word in the page Title.
2. Each brand (producer) page at this level should have a couple paragraphs of descriptive text about them, and including their brand name in that text. If you prefer not having all that text above the product images, consider at least one or two sentences above the products, and then the rest of that descriptive text below them. When done that way, use the brand name in the opening sentence that's above the products, and also again in the descriptive text that's below the products.
3. The Brand name should be in an H1 header at the top of the content area. Right now, you have "Produkter i kategorien" as the headline. While it's not critical to do so, having "Dundalina" there instead, is both good for SEO and helps users to immediately visually know that's the producer for these products.
Beyond that, yes, waiting may be all you need given all you've done. However by doing the above things, it sends much stronger signals that "this is the most important page about this topic".

Comment Links and Pingbacks
I'm updating articles on a large site, some have links in the comments (WP site). The question is: 1. Should I remove the links in the comments, or does Google even care? 2. How do pingbacks affect ranking?

Do a bunch of footer internal links help or hurt?
We are an ecommerce site... In days gone by, having a bunch of footer links with your top products / categories was a good idea - as it created a ton of internal links to these products. Now, I am hearing that those links "dilute" the value of our other links on a page - and essentially, there is more harm than good from these. Does anyone know what I am talking about (the olds days) and should we still be doing this? Thanks

Internal Linking Question(s)
Is it unwise to link internally to a page more than once on the homepage. I am reading that it is considered spammy. I am also reading that it passes PR twice to the internal page instead of just once... Which is it? Is there a way to stop passing PR to the "contact us" page. I watched an older video that Matt Cutts suggested a nofollow. Now I read that this strategy is a no no? Which is it? Thanks! 🙂

Do you bother to nofollow links out to Facebook etc?
These days many sites link (often site-wide) to their social profiles on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube.... etc Theoretical SEO on-page optimisation might condone adding nofollow to these links, but I have a feeling it might not do much in terms of conserving page authority and indeed might be a bit of an "over-optimisation" signal. Thoughts?

Internal Linking
Hi Everyone, Should i be careful of how many internal links I have on one page? For example if i have a page that contains 700 words, can i have 5, 10, 15 internal links linking to other pages on my website? Is there a ratio for best practice. I know that internal linking is important for spiders to crawl your website but at the same time dont make it look spammy. I hope this makes sense. Thanks for any help.

Number of links in breadcrumb
Does google take the number of links in breadcrumb as a indicator to the depth of the page in the site structure? That will mean that a page with 5 links in the breadcrumb is a page very far away from the index, therefore a less important page.
