Can bots crawl this homepage's content?
-
The website is https://ashleydouglas.com.au/
- I tried using http://www.seo-browser.com/ to see if bots could see the content on the site, but the tool was unable to retrieve the page.
- I used mobile-friendly test and it just rendered some menu links - no content and images.
- I also used Fetch and Render on Search Console. The result for 'how google sees the page' and 'how a visitor sees the page' are the same and only showing the main header image. Anything below isn't shown.
Does this mean that bots can't actually read all content on the page past the header image?
I'm not well versed with what's going on with the code. Why are the elements below the header not rendering? Is it the theme? Plugins?
Thank you.

Thanks, Paul! We'll try disabling RocketLoader.

Yea, you need to believe those tools, Nikki. In particular, if you click on the Page Loading Issues View Details in the mobile-friendly test, you'll see that there are errors with pretty well all the scripts on the page. And GSC's Fetch and Render is literally what the search crawler can see and process, so if it's not happy...
When I first visited the page, all I saw was the header and the footer as well.
Here's what I think is happening. Pretty well all the content on the page is being loaded with animations, which are JavaScript-based. You have RocketLoader enabled in CloudFlare which is known to cause havoc with JavaScript. (It takes over how JavaScripts get loaded on the page, but often doesn't handle it well). So I suspect that RocketLoader is interfering with the scripts that the page is depending on to display the animated content blocks.
Try turning off RocketLoader from within your Cloudflare settings, clear ALL caches for the site (CloudFlare's cache and any site/server-level caches), and check again.
Good luck! And let me know if that resolves it.
Paul
P.S. I'd recommend seriously reconsidering all that content animation on the page. All that "dancing macaroni" really interferes with the efficient reading of the page. Animation is supposed to be used to draw extra attention to one specific important thing on a page. When everything is wiggling and moving, nothing gets emphasised, and it's all just a major distraction and makes scanning the content nearly impossible.

Suggestions on dealing with duplicate content?
What are the best ways to protect / deal with duplicate content? I've added an example scenario, Nike Trainer model 1 – has an overview page that also links to a sub-page about cushioning, one about Gore-Tex and one about breathability. Nike Trainer model 2,3,4,5 – have an overview page that also links to sub-pages page about cushioning , Gore-Tex and breathability. In each of the sub-pages the URL is a child of the parent so a distinct page from each other e.g. /nike-trainer/model-1/gore-tex /nike-trainer/model-2/gore-tex. There is some differences in material composition, some different images and of course the product name is referred multiple times. This makes the page in the region of 80% unique. Any suggestions welcome about the above example or any other ways you guys know of dealing with duplicate content.

Duplicate Content?
Hi All, I have a new client site, a static site with navigation across the top, and down the left side. Two of the menus from the top navigation are replicated in the navigation structure on the left hand side. They have the exact same url structure, they are in fact the same exact page, listed on the site in two areas. My question is - is this a case of duplicate content, or, as they urls are the exact same, will they be seen as a single page? A canonical tag on one would be replicated on the other by the CMS - so do I leave it, or try to get them to re-structure removing one of the links? (I doubt they will do this as its a brand new site they just has developed). Many thanks!

Full Crawl, now what?
Hi, Ok, I logged in this morning to see my full crawl of over 250 pages. I must admit I was expecting an email to inform me and to perhaps outline what my next steps should be. During the last 7 days I have fixed most of the pages that had errors and also added more keywords, just like what was suggested when I first signed up. So, is there a suggested plan of action I should now take to help increase the rankings, perhaps I'm missing this from the email or something? Thanks!

Duplicat contents on wordpress

Reducing the site's header to get more content Above the Fold
The user bizzer posted the following question on the post (http://www.seomoz.org/blog/guide-to-ads😞 "I've got my above the fold area very light on advertising since Panda. But reading #4 about the "template" makes me wonder if I should go further and reduce the height of my header area and maybe even remove one of my two sidebars, so as to increase the content-to-template ratio above the fold. Make sense?" What do you think?

What's the best practice for implementing a "content disclaimer" that doesn't block search robots?
Our client needs a content disclaimer on their site. This is a simple "If you agree to these rules then click YES if not click NO" and you're pushed back to the home page. I have this gut feeling that this may cause an upset with the search robots. Any advice? R/ John
