Please help! Ive been trying to rank this page
https://www.visitmanchester.com/where-to-stay/hotels
It appeared on age 2 for a day and disappeared again. It's like it's being algorithmically kicked out. Can anyone see why?
-
Hi Thanks for your response.
When you mention products, do you mean the accommodation search?
Yes that's correct. The products are unique to the site but they also exist on trip advisor and pull through the reviews. Do you think all the external links make it look like trip advisors content?
What is the main term you are hoping to rank the page for?
Hotels in Manchetser
Are other pages like this on the website ranking well for their most important term?
Yes, Things to do in Manchester and whats on in Manchester are all fine. There is something wrong with this page. The mobile view isn't very user friendly - i'm having this changed to a list view to see if it helps - but it is not flagged as non mobile friendly so I'm just doing this as a test
When did you publish this page?
Thanks again. Any help would be most welcome
Andrew

Hi Andrew,
I'm looking at the page again trying to make sure what you mean by product descriptions. Looking at the page you've linked to, I see an accommodation search, followed by a brief area of text, followed by TripAdvisor content.

The content is a bit thin. There is no real substance and all google (and users) see is basically a list of places to stay and then a load of tripadvisor reviews. There's almost more outbound links than words on the page. You need to beef up the content if you want it to rank. Why do you say 'it should be ranking' have similar pages like it ranked before?
There has recently been a great deal of 'quality updates' all throughout the first part of 2018 that could potentially be affecting a page like this.
-
The reviews are powered by tripadvisor but the products are owned by visit manchester. Are you seeing trip advisors content in the product descriptions?

Good morning, Andrew!
Is any of the content of this page unique to the page and to your business? I'm seeing that quite a bit of the page is TripAdvisor's content. Is this an affiliate site?

Evidence that high organic rankings impact positioning in the Google local pack?
I'm looking for articles/evidence that if you have a high ranking organic listing that it will improve your chances of being in the local pack. I came across this about a year ago, but I have had trouble finding articles to support this. Does anybody know of any recent articles and/or studies that show a correlation of high organic listings and local pack visibility? Thanks!

Local Search and Schema.org - Do I need to tag up the "same as" Property to all my citations to help with local rankings?
Hi All, We have implemented Schema.og on our website and this also includes the local business schema for all of our branches. However I've read an article (see below ) which says we should also be doing "same as " property and linking this to ALL of our citations such as google plus page , yelp , bing places, city search etc etc as this will help with citations. I am wondering if anyone has done this ? - And if so , has this helped with local rankings etc - I don't really want to invest the extra costs to get this done if I can't find anywhere that says its made a difference - The article from whitespark - says - "when you create new citations for your business (or for your client’s), it’s a waiting game hoping that Google and the other search engines will find your new citations quickly and make the connection between those listings, the business, and the website. The “sameAs” property can help make that process much quicker _and _easier. Schema.org explains that the “sameAs” property is used along with the “URL of a reference Web page that unambiguously indicates the item's [or business’] identity.” By using the “sameAs” property in your NAP schema markup, you can tell search engines that the business you’ve marked up is the same one found at a certain citation URL Of course, Google+ isn’t the only important citation source. There’s also Bing Places, Facebook, Yelp, Citysearch and a few others. The nice thing about many schema.org properties is that you can use them multiple times in your markup." I am wondering what peoples thoughts were and whether they has implemented this and if so , did it help ? thanks Pete | [sameAs](http://schema.org/sameAs) | URL | URL of a reference Web page that unambiguously indicates the item's identity. E.g. the URL of the item's Wikipedia page, Freebase page, or official website. |

How to rank same business page in different locations?
Hello all, First of all thanks for answering my previous queries. Now, I have one more query and I am hoping to get best possible answers from you guys. Query: I have one business which is located in one city only and I have a verified listing there (I am ranking good in that city). However, I want to rank the same business page in couple of other cities as well. What should I do considering that I cannot create a new listing for other cities because I have my office in single location only? Looking forward to answers. Brian

How is this Ge Factory Service ranking like this?
Recently I was doing some research on "appliance repair" for a new client and I ran into some listings that are ranking locally on the 1st page without barely any backlinks or citations. I am wondering how they are doing this. I under stand since they are a GE company maybe this is why but there is not even no backlinks from the GE main site. This Ge Factory website is a pr0 so how is it ranking hundreds of listings without almost any citations? After searching Google I found over 10k listings for "GE Factory Service". How are they doing this? As I understand only Franchise listings are allowed to be posted Nationwide. After investigation I came to the conclusion that GE does not offer any Franchise Opportunities for their repair service. So isn't this in violation of the terms and conditions? These listings all have the address hidden since these are not storefronts. I have checked many listings and they are ranking for most cities I search including:Atlanta, San Diego, Dallas, Tucson, phoenix.Does anyone have any ideas how these listings with virtually no SEO? Any feedback is appreciated thanks

Wrong Category Displaying Google Business Page?
Our firm keeps displaying "bankruptcy attorney" on google business page. Granted, we do that, as well as a variety of other services, but our primary category is "Personal Injury Attorney". I was told the categories are randomly selected, but I don't think that's true. Every time I've looked (or had other people look for us) on local, it displays as "bankruptcy attorney." What should I do? Is there a way to lock in the "Personal Injury Attorney" category, so it's the one that displays? Should I get rid of all the other categories except for "personal injury attorney?" Any other suggestion? Thanks, Ruben
