Reducing number of site pages?

Hi, I am looking through my site structure and I have a lot of pages left over from the days of article keywords. Probably 7 or 8 years ago, someone sold my husband on article key word pages. I have slowly gotten rid of a lot of them as they have fallen out out of the ranks. I would like to get rid of the rest, probably 5 or 6 pages. Will it hurt my rankings to delete pages and redirect them? My customers really like the simplicity of our site and I want to keep it that way, plus clean up flags that Moz is telling me is a problem. I think its easier to keep less pages top notch than have to worry with a lot of them. Especially since my customers aren't viewing them.

I think updating the content is always the best option, especially if any backlinks are pointed at it as Joseph stated. Keywords may be a non important outdated function, but their presence certainly doesn't hurt a pages ranking any, so if you update the pages meta description and page content that would probably be your best bet.

Simply delete the page and redirect to your homepage shouldn't harm your site, but here is what I'll do:
If these pages are having quality backlinks pointing to it, I would recommend rewriting a relevant article in a better quality, especially if these pages are having traffic or ranking for some keyword that is relevant to your website.

Why i my site not ranking
I have been building my website www.ubodo.com ( its a property portal ) I have feeds coming in from nearly 200 estate agents and I have just over 26k properties listed all over the world. I have tried to make the site fast, mobile friendly and followed several SEO tutorials but I am looky If I get 10 new visitors a day !!! I have managed to get 1st page ranking for terms like " Property for sale in Hambye" ( less competitve than " Property for Sale in France " ) Can any one see anything obvious I have done wrong, I feel like there is a switch to turn on the traffic and I cant find it. Hi I am really intrigued by Bloomberg strategy. if you look at their article pages they are full with internal links done with what I assume to be an automated process (too many pages to be done manually). it seems to work for them. I would love to hear your opinions.

Does CloudFlare Benefit my site?
I am using the $20 / month CloudFlare service. My site is not running faster, so my question is: is this service adding real value? I do not have a lot of highly sensitive customer data (some email addresses and customer names and nothing more - no credit cards). I am already using Amazon Cloud Server and it appears to work fine. Any thoughts appreciated.

How should i optimize this page
Hi, i am having major problems in optimizing this page as it is a magazine site. On normal sites i have no problem in optimizing the page to get the correct keywords to come up in the search engines but since the upgrade and also because it is a magazine site, i am having problems on how i should do this. my site is www.in2town.co.uk and i am trying to optimize the page for the following keywords lifestyle magazine online magazine lifestyle news Life and Style articles healthy lifestyle i am trying to make sure that google knows what the magazine is about, as i know have dropped down the rankings since the upgrade and for lifestyle magazine we were number one in google for such a long time but now we are on page 9 and this is our home page. we are seeing sites that have hardly any content ranking above us for this keyword i have a small intro which i have just put in the past few days at the top and we have a welcome in the middle which is here. Number of occurances of a keyword
At the moment my site is down due to issue at the datat centre so please don't ask for teh url as it will be some time before it is back up and running. On one of my pages I am targeting two related keyword phrases e.g. "How to use Widgets" and "Using Widgets" Each of these phrases appears once each in the Tile tag, H1 tag and meta description and two or three times in the body text. Which I beileve is current best practice. However the word Widgets appears more 60 times in total could this be hurting the rankings of the other two phrases? Many Thanks

SEO Value of Within-Page Links vs. Separate Pages
Title says it all. Assuming that you're talking about similar content (let's say, widgets), which is better: using within-page links for variations or using separate pages? I.e., do we have a widget page and then do in-page links to describe green, blue, and red widgets, or separate pages for each type of widget? In-page pro: more content on a single page, thus more keywords, key phrases, and general appearance of real content. In-page con: Jakob Neilsen says they're confusing. Also, for SEO, you only get one page title, rather than a separate page title for each. My personal bias is for in-page, since I hate creating dozens of short pages for what could be on one page, but my suspicion is that separate pages are better for SEO.
