UK vs. United Kingdom, which to use in URL?
-
The page supports information for our partners in the UK.... but from an SEO perspective which will Google understand better in the URL... UK or United Kingdom?
-
Thank you! Very helpful. The page is one specifically targeting users in the UK vs. the US.

Hello there,
I'm guessing you're talking about example.com/our-partners-in-uk vs. example.com/our-partner-in-united-kingdom
If that's the case I'd say there won't be too much difference for going with either one, Google is smart at understanding your page content, so if your URL is not too long (>75) for using united-kingdom, then go with it, otherwise go with the shorter UK.
If what you're talking about is the subdirectory for multinational targeting, I would suggest you to take a look at this: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/182192?hl=en
Hope this helps,

When is it wrong to use a competitors brand name?
I recently started with a company who've benefited from using a competitors brand name to explain why theirs is superior. They're not wrong and neither have they been derogatory, however they have had significant traffic to their website using the competitors branded search terms. I'm concerned Google will penalise us for this (if so can you point me to case studies/similar examples), or am I worrying unnecessarily?

Is KEI metric still commonly used by SEOs
I'd like to ask about the KEI, is it used by now? and is it really matters ? I guess # of results by Google is not a good metric to decide if the keyword is good or not? I'd really appreciate your inputs

US UK KW research regional variations
Hi What words phrases do you think one should research to see what US searchers would use if they want to get an artefact valued such as old jewelry to furniture to sporting memorabilia or just want to get that work of art on the wall valued that they have had in the family for years. Obviously i will be carrying out kw research (& have been) but just interested in asking some real life Americans what they would search for ? In the UK its mainly 'Valuations' orientated keywords but in the US its looking like 'Appraisals' related are used much more. Any local knowledge suggestions appreciated 🙂 All Best Dan

Long URL in Daily Reports: Adding Dates instead of keywords
Hello, One of my clients posts a daily review of the finance market. it's been a discussion in our SEO team, whether to add the title to the URL or to write the date of the daily review in the URL instead. Adding keywords instead of dates: advantage: Adding keywords to the URL helping getting ranked for those keywords.

disadvantage: the URL comes out too long. what do you suggest in this case? keeping the keywords in the URL or adding dates instead and lose one of the important factors which affects getting ranked for the specific keywords.0 -
Can using an exact sentence from your content as meta description hurt?
Hi Mozzers! I'm uploading some press releases and the first sentence makes a perfect meta description. Would using the exact same wording ever hurt my rankings? Thanks!

I have a large list of URL's that need to be checked for a specific keyword. I've been doing them one at a time and it's painful. Is there a web based tool out there that can search many different URL's at once?
