Slow growth in organic traffic
-
Hi,
Recently our website after 5 months of launch started seeing more organic traffic, thanks to the seo effort being put. However, off late the growth is quite slow and we don't see much increase in organic traffic any more. Any idea on what could have happened to cause this or is it normal.
Here is the link to the website to check and if you can recommend anything - https://www.keyhub.com
Thanks,
-
Of course, I meant in addition to the Keyword some variable which helps it differentiate and unique.
-
Far better to write a proper title & description. The title is vital in telling Google what the page is all about. Simply adding a number will separate them but they will still struggle to rank. You need to tell Google what is on the page:
Primary Keyword | Secondary Keyword | Company Name

Ok, I get it. These are category pages and as there are multiple pages for categories too they have duplicate titles. We will try to add some varialble like page number or something in the title to make sure there are no duplicates.
-
Yes I think you are right. There are over 700 pages with duplicate titles though. This from my scan:
These are just an example: All share the same title.

For each of the products like - https://www.keyhub.com/en/buy-fortnite-deluxe-founders-pack-xbox-one-compare-cd-keys-prices/ it is already customized according to the game name.
It is only for the catalog page - https://www.keyhub.com/en/cd-keys-prices-compare/ that it is not customized.
-
You could try and automate and have a meta title & description inserted from the name of the game. I have seen that done quite successfully.
Title Format: " <game name="">Compare Prices <review, code&="" cheats="">| Keyhub.com"
Description Format: "Compare prices on <game name="">and read all about the game at Keyhub including walkthroughs, hints, codes & cheats"
Something like that.
Ask a developer - I'm sure it wouldn't cost much.
Cheers

Hi Nigel,
Thanks a lot for your comprehensive response and the time you took out. To give you a bit of background, we are a price comparison platform. With 100s of new games added everyday. This makes it a bit more difficult for us to have unique titles or descriptions for each page.
So the point 2, 4 & 5 you mentioned our unfortunately the number of pages which host all those games. As there are more than 900 games and they all span over around 100 pages so they have the same page title.
Rest we will work on it to the best of our capacity to fix it
Thanks again

Yes - it's only a small piece of the jigsaw as I'm sure you know but it's a great kickstart for them!
Cheers Nigel

Wow! Nigel... This is quite an informative and helpful post. Looks like they need guidance but much of the work can be done in-house, but only if they know how to do it.

I think I can help

2. 100s of posts share the same page title: They all need to be unique

7. The site is slow:
These are just a few observations. The site is a bit of a mess I'm sorry to say and you need a very good SEO to produce a Site Audit to help you fix eveything. It's not just the odd thing - a bit of sticking plaster/bandaid won't do.

Why would on-site search queries show up as referral traffic?
The site analytics have been set up for over a year and suddenly last month there was a huge spike in referral traffic (1100+ sessions). Upon further investigation, the majority of it was coming directly from internally, either as mysite.com or search.mysite.com and the landing pages from the referrals are all /search.html?query=* This was never an issue before so I'm trying to understand what could have changed. I'm following up with the client to find out if their dev team may have changed anything related to their search engine but I'm wondering if there may be another explanation. A few notes: previously mysite.com / search.mysite.com were not in the Referral Exclusion list. I've added them now but this was never an issue before. Thanks in advance!

Direct traffic coming to URLs with /rss_feedIP#
I'm doing a site audit for an organization that has a bunch of really messy old Drupal sites. In looking at their traffic, I see that a majority of it is coming to landing pages that look like this: http://clientsdomain.com/rss_feed173.8.208.97 plus other IP addresses. The bounce rate is 100% and time on site is less than a second. It looks like something that an RSS feed tool might use, but I've never seen something like it before. It creates its own landing page, hits the site, then appears to bounce. This is making their Analytics data look a whole lot worse than the site is actually doing, since the bounce rate is 100% on all that fake traffic. I have some experience with Drupal, but I've never seen anything like this in Drupal or any other CMS. Has anyone out there ever experienced something like this, where direct traffic comes to an rss feed landing page and bounces immediately?

Locating Source of Referral Traffic
Hey Folks, I have discovered a Korean site is sending considerable traffic to a specific landing page on my client's cosmetic surgery site in California. I am concerned Google may deem this as spammy - I know I do. I have been able to track the referral traffic to this point: cluster1.cafe.daum.net/c21/bbs_read which appears to be a community-based site and/or forum. However, I can not locate the exact source where the href back to my client's site resides. Given that my Korean is not exactly up to par 😉 and Google translate only takes me so far, can any of you suggest an advanced query or method of tracking to pinpoint the source page? Thanks!

See which Google TLD organic traffic is coming from in GA
Hi all, I'm working with a client that is marketing to English speaking ex-pats in Thailand. I have a suspicion that many of these ex-pats are searching through google.com (or .co.uk) instead of google.co.th. In Google Analytics (or any other tracking tool), is there a way to see which country-specific Google domain organic searches are coming from? Thanks, Tim

What extra shall we do to increase organic traffic for both the sites?
One of my clients has english language websites targeted for USA and UK audience with some content variations but60%-70% of the content on site remains the same. The site is hosted in USA. One is hosted on brandname.co.uk and one is on brandname.com. The precuations that we have already taken to save it from being marked duplicates are: 1. used rel=alternate element for all product detail pages2. currency in both the sites are different that is GBP and USD3. have tried to differenttate the product by using different product specific terms like Publishing Year: vis a vis published in:Author Vis a vis Written byFormat vis a vis binding type Add to cart vis a vis add to basket and so on What remains the same: 1. Title structure 2. Description 3. Product Name 4. About the product text

Analytics Showed Steady Growth Until Now?

Google Webmaster Dropped Traffic
Hi Guys, I've recently implemented a new site design with a new url architecture etc.. I set up Google Webmaster tools in early March and went live with the new site on 2nd April. Since the 6th April (4 days after going live) I've notice a drop in impressions from 15,000 - 28,000 per day to 3,500 - 5,500 per day. Now I'm kind of new to this, so after I cleaned up after my initial panic, I checked impressions vs. clicks. Impression are down 44% and clicks 31%. Not bad I thought but then again what if I dropped so far off the radar I never made an impression. 1. So first question: Are the number of impressions of a keyword independant of ranking. So if I rank #3,445,234th will I still see impressions listed but avg. position reflect #3,445,234? So while I was thinking of asking these questions I checked Google Analytics for which I have just over 3 years of metrics. Compared to the past; overall traffic and organic traffic are the same if not 10-20% better. 2. So second: Am I missing something? Its a resort website so easter just ended and you would expect the traffic to match and drop, but such a sudden and dramitic drop in Webmaster Tools impressions does not match Google Analytics. Infact Organic traffic climbed slightly. Can anyone offer any insight? Thanks, Adam

Why do I get lots of traffic from a bizarre keyword?
Bit of an odd one but I've been getting a large and steady stream of traffic over the last few months from a very random keyword that according to addwords figures shows "on data". Its our second biggest referring term only beaten by our brand name. We get more traffic from this term than keywords we have invested a lot of time in that show thousands of traffic volume in addwords. When looking at behavioral data its gets odder, a bounce rate of 98.11% time on site 2 seconds and page visits 1.02. So this traffic isn't real traffic and it's not real people. So my questions are, what is it? why do we get this random traffic, has anyone els noticed things like this and is it a problem? I presume it must be something to do with some sort of spam but apart from that i'm stumped. It's just one of those things that has been bugging me so I would appreciate any help. Kind Regards Paul
