How to get readers to engage with content
-
Hi everyone!
Over the last year and a half, we've ramped up our content generation and have now hit our stride with a steady stream of blogs and videos.
Both qualitatively and quantitatively, we are seeing great results.
The problem is that the qualitative feedback is always passive. When we see clients, partners, etc. in person, they tell us that they love the content, but no one ever leaves comments or uses the call to actions to submit their info. There are some social shares, but now that LinkedIn no longer has a counter, it's hard to tell how much.
I'm looking for advice on strategies to get more active engagement with our content. The ideal outcome would be active conversations and lead generation.
Thanks everyone!

Getting passive positive feedback is awesome, but I can understand the desire for more active engagement.
One strategy that could help drive more comments and conversations is to incorporate more multimedia content like videos. Videos are highly engaging and give people something visual to react to beyond just text.
However, as you may know, video editing and production can be quite time-consuming and require specific skills. This is where outsourcing to a professional video editing service can be valuable.
Having this multimedia content integrated with your blogs, webinars, etc. gives viewers something dynamic to interact with, share, and comment on. I've seen it be very effective for increasing engagement rates.

Our best recommendation to you would be to write high-quality content marketing , such as blog posts , but also for your business to create YouTube videos, then embed these into your company website main pages. You can just use say your Apple i-phone to have the company director explaining more about the companies’ products/ services which you sell, this could help to reduce the bounce rate. we done this with a marketing company, and the bounce rate decreased.

Hi, this is something that we have actively been tackling recently.
It's hard to tell what kind of content you're making from your post but as a wholesale product company, we sell items to shops. A lot of our wholesale content centres around shop layouts or displays. It's something that independent shopkeepers have told us they like to see, so we've spent a lot of time on it.
We've found that the best way to encourage readers to become contributors is to start by approaching some of our more outgoing clients and asking them to provide content. We then **heavily **credit them, link to them, thank them and quote them throughout the piece. Before you know it, the shopkeepers that read that content want the same thing for themselves and are much more likely to engage with the contact form.
This content works well for lead generation because it means that we can show shop owners contextual examples of our products looking well.
Just a small example with no quantitative data but I hope it helps in some way.

How realistic is it to get to googles first page
Hello, I cannot say what my website it for, as it is very unique ( or will be for the next 4-6 months ). I am currently developing this site now with the view to launch next month. I will be doing every bit of on-site SEO as possible. Spending countless late nights perfecting it, referring to MOZ checklists and blogs. When the site goes live my team of 4 will be constantly marketing/SEO for around 5 hours each a day. Things like doing guest blogs, normal blog posts, link building .... essentially all aspects that need to be covered. As well we are consulting with an SEO company to help us too. I have 1 main keywords which I need to rank for ( I can't show these ). This keyword has a 62% keyword difficulty, however, the website with number 1 position for this keyword only has 8 Domain Authority and 23 page authority. Given the fact 4 of us will be doing non-stop of-site SEO, aswell as paying an SEO company and in general my content and site structure will be a lot more releveant for the user. Is it possible for me to rank in the top page of google within 3 months of launch, and become rank 1/2 after 4-5 months? Thanks

Why do other sites rank higher for our blog content?
Our site has always allowed other sites to RSS feed our content. Recently, we've noticed that searches for a title of our blog post will rank 2 sites that only publish said content, while our links are nowhere to be seen on the SERPs for Google. Is there any way I can fix this or prod Google to adjust it for us? Background: We were ranked highly in many long tail keywords, but lost many of them in June 2013. During this time going forward, we received no manual action.

With the structure of WordPress when multiple tags are selected, SEOMoz reports show each URL/tag as duplicated content? What to do?
wordpress.com/blogpost/tag/word1 wordpress.com/blogpost/tag/word 2 etc. Same page, but WP generates multiple URLs for each tag. in reports, this shows as duplicate content. Is it something to worry about? If yes, what is the best fix?

Getting Duplicated Content Removed
So I recently took over an in-house SEO role and began some house cleaning. I found a few places that had copied or duplicated our homepage content. Naturally I reached out to them to ask them to remove or change the content. Today I come to the office and one of the sites I had requested to remove the content, had fired back at me that I was being rude, threatening and I should go f**k myself. As if this wasn't enough this guys was an upper level manager (managing director) and knows the upper management where I work. Now I have people in my company pissed at me, when I thought I was doing the right thing. Am I in the wrong or what? I had simply asked to remove or change the content and that failure to do so could result in legal action. I understand that it could have been misconstrued as a threat (which it wasn't intended to be) but its seems like a pretty immature response from a higher level person. Any thoughts or advice on what to do next?
