Copying my content on a tour operator platform
-
I am selling my tours on a platform that resells tours. They are taking the content on mywebsite (the description of each of day of my itinerary) to put on their platform.
Can I have duplicate content issues doing that ?
Thank you,
-
Ok but how about if my title is totally different on the tour operator website. Instead of "Tuscany bike tour" I write something like.
"Cycling through olive groves and vineyards in Tuscany"
Does it change something ?
and does the fact that the tour operator would only copy part of my page change something. They wouldn't copy the reviews or the introduction.

But what about if I am the 1 st one to publish the content online. How can they take over even if they are stronger than me.
If a much more powerful site takes your content then you have greater than a 50% chance of losing traffic, both short and long tail.
If a lot of pissant or even spammy sites grab your content then you have greater than a 50% chance of losing traffic, both short and long tail
The site where I have my greatest problems with infringing content causing problems is a site that most people would consider to be a "heavyweight".
Being "first to publish" means very little from what I have seen.
Has google though about something ?
I know that Google thinks and says that they are pretty good at recognizing who content belongs to. In my opinion, they are not nearly as good as they think and say that they are.
Most people only realized that their content is being stolen when the thief uses it verbatim. But the more dangerous thief is the light rewriter. And that thief is a lot harder to catch and a lot harder to kill with DMCA.

Q: Can you have a duplicate content issue?
A1: Yes, potentially, if the republisher's site is more powerful than yours.
A2: Yes, definitely, if the republisher's site is a lot more powerful than yours.
A3: Yes, definitely, if a lot of sites are republishing your content.
I give the answers above from extensive experience, enough that I submit hundreds of DMCA notices per year.

Hiding body copy with a 'read more' button
Hi Whats the consequences of hiding half of the lovingly crafted body copy/written content (good quality modern version of what we used to call seo text) i have written for a clients main site sections and then having a 'read more' button to reveal ? I have written 500+ words for each page but client wants to reduce word count displayed since thinks looks too 'wordy'! I know that this is possible and used to be fine if done in a manner that was still crawlable, is this still the case ? Cheers Dan

I have a question about having to much content on a single page. Please help :)
I am working on a music related site. We are building a feature in our system to allow people to write information about songs on their playlist. So when a song is currently being played a user can read some cool facts or information about the song. http://imgur.com/5jFumPW ( screenshot). Some playlists have over 100 songs and could be completely random in genre and artist. I am wondering if some of these playlists have over 5,000 words of content if that is going to hurt us? We will be very strict about making sure its non spammy and good content. Also for the titles of the content is it bad to have over 100 h3 tags on one page? Just want to make sure we are on the right track. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Duplicate content on domains we own
Hello! We are new to SEO and have a problem we have caused ourselves. We own two domains GoCentrix.com (old domain) and CallRingTalk.com (new domain that we want to SEO). The content was updated on both domains at about the same time. Both are identical with a few exceptions. Now that we are getting into SEO we now understand this to be a big issue. Is this a resolvable matter? At this point what is the best approach to handle this? So far we have considered a couple of options. 1. Change the copy, but on which site? Is one flagged as the original and the other duplicate? 2. Robots.txt noindex, nofollow on the old one. Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance!

Is there a way to measure a competitors content growth?
Bonjour from 23 Degrees C hot & sultry Wetherby UK, I find again and again clients find jumping into an active volcano easier than addid fresh content. I want to try another tactic to prompt / scare them into adding content and here is my idea. I want to track a competitor site for a target term and monitor if they are adding content over time specific to that term. So my question is please: "Is there a reliable method to do this?" Ideas i had was doing a good old Google Title operator at the beginning of the month and then at monthly intervals to see if anything changes. Any insights welcome 🙂

Creating optimized content: how to standardize the process?
Hello there, we are creating the new content for a website. For each web page we have created a “Pages file” to have the advantage of the spell checker. For each page, in the “Pages file” we have written the title tag (70 characters) and the meta description (155 character), so we have a kind of “template” like this in every page: title tag meta desciption text content (included the alt of the images inside the text) Every page is optimized for a single keyword/keyword phrase. What we wanna know from you guys if does exist a kind of “best practice” to test keyword density to avoid keyword stuffing penalities. In our case we opted to use “Pages” as editor, does exist a “standard Numbers/Excel spreadsheet” to understand if a keyword is over optimized in a page and so might look spammy? And in your opinion guys, what’s the best way to standardize the process of creating optimized content? Take care and thank you in advance for sharing your experience. YESdesign guys.
