Weeding out irrelevant analytical data to see truer conversion rates

Here is the scenario. We have many brick and mortar store locations as well as an ecommerce website. It's hard to get exact, but my estimates seem to be that approximately 1/3 of the visitors to our website are interested only in obtaining information about the brick and mortar store locations and not interested in ecommerce transactions. Of course this kills the conversion rate. We use google analytics and I'd like to somehow be able to quantify with more accuracy what the "real" conversion rate might be. Is there some method to weed out specific pages/traffic (like brick and mortar landing pages) from being taken into account when conv. rate is calculated? The number that matters for conv. rate of course is "visits" and not unique pageviews, so I'm not sure that really would do anything helpful.
Any tips?

That post focuses on how to look at just branded or just non-branded queries. You might find it useful to take a similar approach but instead of branded filter for keywords that include location, hours, etc.

Thank you, that helps point me in the right direction. You are right that it's still hard to say for sure what the visitors are doing and if they will trigger a sale or not, but at least for us it will be a closer estimate than NOT filtering the data in some way.

Use advanced segmentation and setup a custom segment. Set that segment up so that it includes data from all sources, but excludes users who trigger a page view on whatever that specific brick and mortar page is.
I say this as a solution to your direct question, but you also assume that users who visit these specific pages are not going to trigger an e-commerce sale, which they could. I totally see where you are coming from here because in most cases you may be correct. You know your audience better than me.

Better Conversions with Java Script Pop Up Form or with Independent Page (URL)?
Greetings MOZ Community? I manage a commercial real estate site (www.nyc-officespace-leader.com). Visitors view listings (for example:http://www.nyc-officespace-leader.com/listings/303-broadway-building-office-sublet-11189sf). If they want more details they click on the "Interested In This Space, Contact a Broker" button. They get directed to a contact us form like: http://www.nyc-officespace-leader.com/contact-us?from_listing=303-broadway-building-office-sublet-11189sf We are redesigning this form. Remove much of the text and allowing the visitor to check questions pertaining to the property, like "Schedule a Tour", "Get Floorplans", "Details on Similar Space'. Currently this conversion form is on its own URL, and as such has menus on top, which I am concerned could distract the visitor. Would we get better conversions if this form was a Java script pop up with no menus. That way there would be no distraction for the visitor and we would have a better chance of converting them. Any thoughts? Also, we are using Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to track conversions. Would changing to a Java Script pop up form have any implications for tracking? Thanks everyone!!! Alan

Tracking Adwords Conversions for eCommerce ROI
I'm working with a rather large eCommerce customer who needs to be able to track their Adwords conversions for the purpose of determining the ROI of their Adwords campaigns. I've installed code from Google Adwords Conversions on their eCommerce page, but it doesn't seem to be calculating values correctly. Also, where would setting goals in Analytics come in to play if I'm trying to track the conversions of specific Adwords conversions?

Improving data tables for Usability & SEO
I have some large html data tables that look horrible (see bottom of http://www.jwsuretybonds.com/surety-bonds/commercial-bonds/auto_dealer_bond.htm). To my surprise, heat map tests actually proved them to be useful in improving our conversion rates to get visitors to apply for the bond they need. We are looking at ways to better the user experience while still keeping the data visible to search spiders. One idea was to use a dropdown list to filter by states. With new web technologies, there must be a better way to utilize this data. What are some alternatives?

Recommendations for Books on Analytics, Ecommerce and Data Manipulation?
Having just moved into a position where an Ecommerce site is now a big part of my responsibilities I'm looking to get up to speed on the topic (been a while since I worked on a shop). Site is Magento based. I'd also like any recommended books on broader analytics and using/reporting data. Obviously finding books on these subjects isn't difficult, I'd just like mozers thoughts on any that are particularly good and more important still relevant ie fairly recently published. Quite broad topics these I know but open to any or all suggestions - however not too worried about covering wider SEO, more 'technical' guide style is what I'm interested in. Couldn't really find any threads on books in general so should be an interesting topic (I hope!) Thanks in advance for any help and suggestions.

Conversion Software
Can someone please suggest a conversion software other than omniture that I can used to track the amount of revenue a specific keyword is bringing into my company? Is there a way that I can do this using Google Analytics? I know in omniture there is a feature that shows you what the specific keyword is bringing in x amount of dollars. Landing Page Conversion Rates
I had a client claiming his industry (replacement home windows) conversion rate was around 15% based on his research. In my research i could find nothing of the sort, and really couldn't find a single place that provided this type of information. Anyone out there have some advice on where to research industry conversion rates (averages) or tools/thought processes to explore? Thanks!
