How to rank a product page
-
Hello,
I have a product page and just did a little introduction ( 5 lines of text) but I have the feeling this is not enough for google.
What is the solution ?
Is it to increase the amount of content even though it is not going to be user friendly ?
Or will google look at the product page I link too and take into account the content on those subpages to boost my "pillar / product page".
Thank you,

You can make product pages more robust by including an FAQ section or writing a more detailed description. If you are reselling a product, it can also help to include the product # or manufacturers id on the page as well.

I recommend that you optimise your title tags and use unique meta descriptions for each product page. Also use descriptive headers and add alt tags to your images on each product page. Make sure that you have a good internal link structure with descriptive anchor text and add related products to each product page so relevant products are linking to each other.

First of all, the content needs to be at least 300 words; in most cases over 500 words can bring better results. Less content than that will do damage to your ranking since you won't be able to properly optimize the content for the keywords you're targeting. The content of the sub-pages is little related to the length of the content for the main page.

Will google be able to crawl all of the pages given that the pages displayed or the info on a page varies according to the city of a user?
So the website I am working for asks for a location before displaying the product pages. There are two cities with multiple warehouses. Based on the users' location, the product pages available in the warehouse serving only in that area are shown. If the user skips location, default warehouse-related product pages are shown. The APIs are all location-based.

Changing Canonical Tags on Indexed Pages that are Ranking Well
Hi Guys, I recently rolled out a domain wide canonical tag change. Previously the website had canonical tags without the www, however the website was setup to redirect to www on page load. I noticed that the site competitors were all using www and as far as I understand www versus non www, it's based on preference. In order to keep things consistent, I changed the canonical tag to include the www. Will the site drop in rankings? Especially if the pages are starting to rank quite well. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks!

Optimizing unique pages with almost identical products?
Hi all, I work in a space where we have many products (specifically components and transistors) that are almost identical minus one or two changes in voltage, die size, etc. I'm curious if others in the tech / manufacturing space have had to tackle this issue? There are only so many ways to describe 5-6 products that are identical save one feature. My gut tells me to offer up more head terms in the title tags to draw searchers and get specific in the meta descriptions, but I'm open to ideas.

Wrong page ranking for keyword - should I move the better content over?
We have a page which is outranking another page for a keyword that is very important. The page that is lower in the rankings has far better content. I think this is happening due to links as well as the url structure. domain.com/ranking/notranking Here is the page we want to rank: http://bit.ly/1vqhSoZ Here is the page that is higher in rankings: http://bit.ly/1vA1wXQ So I think I should just move the content over from /notranking, to /ranking. The content is clearly better on the lower ranking page but I think due to links the /ranking page is higher in SERPS. So I guess my question is, would it be wise to move all that content over, and then 301 redirect the old page? Or leave the way it is and hopefully Google will get it right over time?

How to associate content on one page to another page
Hi all, I would like associate content on "Page A" with "Page B". The content is not the same, but we want to tell Google it should be associated. Is there an easy way to do this?

My landing page changed in google's serp. I used to have a product page now I have a pdf?
I have been optimizing this page for a few weeks now and and have seen our page for up from 23rd to 11th on the serp's. I come to work today and not only have I dropped to 15 but I've also had my relevant product page replaced by this page . Not to mention the second page is a pdf! I am not sure what happened here but any advice on how I could fix this would be great. My site is www.mynaturalmarket.com and the keyword I'm working on is Zyflamend.

Why Is This Page Not Ranking?
Hi Mozzers, I can't rank (the page is nowhere on the Google grid that I can find) and I've not been able to move the needle at all on it. The page is http://www.lumber2.com/Western-Saddle-Pads-s/98.htm for keyword "western saddle pads." I'm inclined to think I'm cannabalizing the category with the products so I removed the word saddle from the majority of the product names on page. However, saddle pad or saddle pads is in the meta title for most if not all of the products. Do you think I'm cannabalizing with the product titles or is there something else going on? Thanks for any help.
