Working on new link structure
-
Hello Mozzzzzzzzzzz
I'm currently working on the new link structure for our website.
We currently organize our content in sub folder
=Main category
= = Sub category
= = =Specialty
= = = Product main name
= = = ==Product specific name
= = = == =Manufacturer- Each of them has some potential strong KW and I will be happy to use it on the URL.
- URL are more than 50 kw long when I use all
- This are very niche item for which people may refer to them through different names (potential folders)
My current concerns will be
- Should we make long url respecting the structure (Main category)/(Sub category)/(Specialty)/(Product main name)/(Product specific name)/(maufacturer)
- Should I combine some like (Main category)/(Sub category)/(Specialty)/(Product main name)/(Product specific name)-(maufacturer)
- Should I keep them simple /(product_main name)
- Should I keep the main folders just to display the articles belonging to this category (Main category)/(Sub category)/(Specialty)/(Product main name) and then keep the product under a sub folder only?
- Any other idea?

When building links, just make sure all links are quality.
Make sure there built in a white hat way.
We got our company to sell many more Bristol summer houses, because the links we built were quality do-follow links.

You are welcome!
Good luck.

Nice idea, will need to review it and think more about it. Tks!

Hi there,
I do not think you should go that granular on the URL structure unless you are planning to rank each child (folder) after the parent( main category). Also, Google will cut off some parts of the URL structure because it will be too long to show it in the SERPs. In addition, I would have a separate URL structure for products because I want to have the exact match product name in your URL and I want users to see it. Also, you should not forget about Google Analytics because with the long URL structure you will have a hard time going through metrics. That being said, I would make the URL structure in this way:
website.com/main-category/sub-category
website.com/main-category/sub-category/manufacture
Product URL
website.com/product/item-name ( manufacture name & product name )

Links: Links come from bizzare pages
Hi all, My question is related to links that I saw in Google Search Console. While looking at who is linking to my site, I saw that GSC has some links that are coming from third party websites but these third party webpages are not indexed and not even put up by their owners. It looks like the owner never created these pages, these pages are not indexed (when you do a site: search in Google) but the URL of these pages loads content in the browser. Example - www.samplesite1.com/fakefolder/fakeurl what exactly is this thing? To mention more details, the third party website in question is a Wordpress website and I guess is probably hijacked. But how does one even get these types pages/URLs up and running on someone else's website and then link out to other websites. I am concerned as the content that I am getting link from is adult content and I will have to do some link cleansing soon.

A new website issue
Hello everybody,
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | mtmaster
I have started a new website 22 days ago at the beginning of this month and i have long articles. I think this should make the site appear in search results for long tail keywords even if they are not very relevant but as you can see in the attached image from my webmaster tools the impression count has suddenly increased to 100 then significantly decreased again. Even when i cancel "filter" option. Is this normal for a 3 weeks old website? or there is something i have to check? thanks. cLMa04l.jpg0 -

To recover from Penguin update, shall i remove the links or disavow links?
Hi, One of our websites hit by Penguin update and I now know where the links are coming from. I have chance to remove the links from those incoming links but I am a little confused whether i should just remove the links from incoming links or disavow the links? Thanks

Natural Link Profile, low and high value links, really?
I cant really get my head around this one. I've read a few times when building links make sure you pick up so low value links as well. So here is an example (and lets say each link takes half hour to get): I got 5 hours of link building and this is what I have managed to get with the time. 1. 10 high value links all with PA/DA 50-60+ 2. 5 high value links with PA/DA 50-60+ AND another 5 low value links with PA/DA 10-. Surely #1 beats #2 hands down?

Changing URL Structure
We are going to be relaunching our website with a new URL structure. My question is, how is it best to deal with the migration process in terms of old URLS appearing whilst we launch the new ones. How best should we launch the new structure, considering we've in the region of 10,000 pages currently indexed in Google.
