Content hubs vs blog
-
Hey all! I work for a large healthcare company. We're in the planning stages of redesigning our website, and the question came up of whether we needed to continue with the patient-focused blog at all when we could simply incorporate the blog articles into the service lines they best fit with (i.e. an article about feeding babies solid good would go under the pediatrics section of the website instead of the pediatrics section of the blog).Anybody have an opinion/insight on whether the articles would get better rankings being dispersed to the services sections of the website instead of concentrated on a blog? Or would good internal linking make the whole question moot? Thanks!

The Human Touch: Why You Might Need a Content Marketing Agency (Even in the Age of AI)
Hey everyone,
The rise of AI has everyone talking, and the world of content marketing is no exception. We've seen AI writing tools and content generators emerge, promising a quicker and easier way to churn out content. But are these tools enough? Today, I wanted to spark a discussion about the role of content marketing agencies and why, in many cases, the human touch is still irreplaceable.
Why a Content Marketing Agency?
Sure, AI tools can generate content at lightning speed. But creating content that truly resonates with your audience requires a deep understanding of their needs, pain points, and aspirations. Here's where a good content marketing agency comes in:
Strategic Planning: They'll work with you to develop a content strategy that aligns with your overall business goals and target audience. This goes beyond just keywords; it's about crafting a narrative that connects with your brand.
Content Expertise: Agencies house a team of experienced writers, editors, and content specialists with diverse skillsets. They can create a variety of content formats, from blog posts and infographics to video scripts and social media content, ensuring a cohesive brand voice across channels.
Industry Knowledge: A good agency will stay up-to-date on the latest industry trends and adapt your content strategy accordingly. They can help you identify content gaps and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
Data Analysis and Optimization: They'll track the performance of your content and use data insights to refine your strategy and optimize content for better results.
The Human Advantage Over AI:
While AI is impressive, it still lacks the following:
Creativity and Originality: AI-generated content can often feel formulaic and uninspired. A human writer can bring a creative spark, craft compelling narratives, and inject humor or storytelling where appropriate.
Brand Voice and Personality: A good agency understands the importance of maintaining a consistent brand voice across all content. AI still struggles to capture the subtle nuances that make your brand unique.
Emotional Connection: The best content evokes emotions and resonates with your audience on a deeper level. Human writers can tap into these emotions and craft content that truly connects.
Strategic Thinking and Flexibility: AI can't adapt to unforeseen circumstances or changing market trends. An agency can analyze the landscape, make strategic adjustments, and ensure your content remains relevant and impactful.
AI as a Tool, Not a Replacement:
Don't get me wrong, AI can be a valuable tool for content marketing. It can help generate ideas, automate tasks, and create basic content structures. But for truly effective content that drives results, the human touch is still essential.
What are your thoughts? Have you used a content marketing agency? How do you feel AI is impacting the content marketing landscape? Let's discuss! -
Both options have pros and cons. By embedding the articles into the relevant commercial sections you can burst the visibility of those sections (SEO). However, at the same time it will be harder to get backlinks from independent sources like blogs and news because they don't typically link to commercial contents.

Moving/deleting blog
I have a website with a blog attached to it. It is a wordpress blog which we have not updated since 2013. However, it has a lot of pages going back to 2010. I am moving my website to weebly so I can't move my blog over. I could recreate all the posts and make redirects to the new url. However, the posts are old and outdated so it doesn't really make sense, aside from seo. I need advice. Would I take an seo hit if i start over with a blog and leave the old posts behind? Thanks!!!

Pages with near duplicate content
Hi Mozzers, I need your opinion on the following. Imagine that we have a product X (brand Sony for example), so if we sell parts for different models of items of this product X, we then have numerous product pages with model number. Sony camera parts for Sony Camera XYZ parts for Sony Camera XY etc. So the thing is that these pages are very very similar, like 90% duplicate and they do duplicate pages for Panasonic, Canon let's say with small tweaks in content. I know that those are duplicates and I would experiment removing a category for one brand only (least seached for), but at the same time I cannot remove for the rest as they convert a lot, being close to the search query of the customer (customer looks for parts for Sony XYZ, lands on the page and buys, insteading of staying on a page for Sony parts where should additionally browse for model number). What would you advise to make as unique as possible these pages, I am thinking about: change page titles. meta descriptions tweak the content as much as I can (very difficult, there is nothing fancy or different in those :(() i will start with top top pages that really drive traffic first and see how it goes. I will remove least visited pages and prominently put the model number in Sony parts page to see how it goes in terms of organic and most importantly conversions Any other ideas? I am really concerned about dupes and a penalty, but I try to think of solutions in order not to kill conversions at this point. Have a lovely Monday

Subdomain vs subdirectory for store
Hello, The following services site nlpca.com has a store at shop.nlpca.com Would the store be stronger if it was at nlpca.com/store (in a subfolder) and included in the main navigation? The moz bar suggests not but I just want to make sure. Thanks.

E-Commerce Site - Duplicate Content
We run an e-commerce site with about 250,000 SKUs. Certain items, such as a micro USB car charger, will be applicable to several different phones. Example: http://www.wirelessemporium.com/p-165787-samsung-galaxy-proclaim-illusion-sch-i110-heavy-duty-car-charger.asp http://www.wirelessemporium.com/p-165856-sony-xperia-ion-4g-lte-att-heavy-duty-car-charger.asp As one can imagine with so many items, unique content for each item description page can be a challenge. What would be the best way to address this on a large scale?

Silo and content
I'm about to launch my site but I have a question regarding content and silo structure. If I don't have enough content to fill 4 subpages, could it be better to have only a content-keyword-rich landing page for a silo instead of multiple pages with poor content? Thank you!

Duplicate Title & Content in WordPress
I'm getting a lot of Crawl Errors due to duplicate content and duplicate title because of category and tag posts in WordPress. I rebuilt the sitemap and said to exclude category and tags, should that clear up the issue? I've also went through and did NO INDEX and NO FOLLOW for all categories and posts. Any thoughts on this issue?

Ecommerce: content on category pages
I have to optimize some online Shops and after Panda I really don't know what to think about thin content on product overview pages anymore... used to be that we could improve our rankings easily just by adding 1-2 sentences on such a page. This always worked for non-overly competitive terms. Now It feels like it doesn't work any longer, but I couldn't put my finger on it and I don't have the resources to test. Here's an example of what I mean: http://www.geschenkidee.ch/wandtattoos/aus_aller_welt.html

I would add max. 3 lines of text directly over the product thumbnails. What do you think? Is it worth adding some text on a product overview page or do I not even have to bother post-Panda?0 -
Meta Descriptions - Duplicate Content?
I have created a Meta Description for a page that is optimized for SERPS. If I also put this exact content on my page for my readers, would this be considered duplicate content? The meta description and content will be listed on the same page with the same URL. Thanks for your help.
