Companies Copy Content with links

One of our customers has been getting a whole bunch of really relevant links recently as many of his competitors are actually going to his site copying the text from his page and forgetting to remove the links that are within the text.
Its amazing we have links from major UK providers of his products totally for free.
This is where linking to the actual page itself is coming into play and we are gaining good back links.
Has anyone else experienced this before ?

lol... I understand what you are saying.
My ideas on this subject are different from most.
I am really stingy with my content and not ready to part with it for a few links. I want my site to be the only location on the web where the article exists and then any links that it collects will be directly to my site.

Dont take this the wrong way EGOL but isnt that a very negative way of looking at this situation ?

I get a few links from people who manually grab my content and repost it. But most of the links that I get this way are from sites that I suspect are built from robots crawling the web, grabbing content and mashing it up into a website.
I would honestly don't like getting links this way because the content that they grab and republish is more valuable than the links that I get back.
If your site is less powerful than the sites that are republishing your content then they could outrank you in the search engines and then they would receive the links earned by your content. Also, if those sites have more traffic than your site they could get links from visitors that you would prefer to see going to your own website.

Hi Guys, I am very new hear. I just joined. I have a few websites that I need to manage. I am looking for a software that will allow me to manually add the links that I have been able to acquire. It would also be a bonus if it could search for the links to my site and to see if its still active. Because I have a freelancer working a few hours a week on link building and I need to keep track of the links. I am looking for something simple and good. Any suggestions? By the way, I used Raven Tools many years ago, and it had this feature. But since joining Moz, I don't want to be paying for 2 subscriptions. And I don't know if Raven still has this feature. Can anyone give me any advise regarding anchor text in back links on external sites. I have about 8 bloggers reviewing our products on their sites. When they link to our site, they either use the words of our company name or something like “click here” as the words in the link. There are a few key words that we are wanting to improve for so should those words be made as the live link on their site?

Buy links
I know that many of you are against the whole thing with buying links. Your feelings put aside. Will it be better for my site to buy links or even do link exchange? Haven´t the crawlers been thought by now how to find these untrue links? I have read somewhere that the stop after 100 links, aren´t they smarter than that?

Links in the Classifieds
We rent apartments. One way we use to find clients is to advertize these apartments in Classifieds. Generally, we use free ads. Sometimes, for very popular sites ( like Kijiji), we pay so our ads can be seen first. Could this be a problem with Google? Some sites send us clients, many of them never do. We keep putting ads there because of their PR. What is the worth of this kind of links? Thanks for your answers.

I have two separate websites on different servers and was wondering that since reciprocal links effectively eliminate each other, I'm curious if this link strategy will keep the links counting. Here's the strategy: I will have someone link to my site A and if i link to their site from my site B in a three way link strategy, will the links count even though both my site A and B have me listed as the Whois so Google knows that both sites are owned by me?
