Help with Alt Image
-
Hi. Moz is alerting me that my blog has no alt image. I actually don't have an image inside the blog but it's in the header, as part of my wordpress theme. Now when I check this image in the header, the alt image keyword is there. I'm not sure how to fix it. Please help.

Hey @VAPartners
I saw that you are using wordpress, the problem is that for some reason your theme puts the featured image as css background, this can be change doing some work in your child theme or in functions.php, to change the css thing to a <img> where you can add your alt attribute.
Let me know if you need more help!

Hi @vapartners,
It's because of your theme. Your featured image is placed as css background-image which has no chance to hold an alt attribute.
Cheers,

Hi Tim,
Here is an example of a post - https://www.rebootcanada.ca/laptop-recycling/. Moz is suggested that an Alt Image be added but when I go back to Wordpress, the text is already there. I'm not sure why this is not showing up.
Thanks. -

High qualitty images and mobile
We know that google likes high quality unique images. On the other side google likes fast load times (in particular on mobile). What about showing two different dimensions images on desktop and mobile? Is it good? If yes than any wordpress plugins for that?

Can You Help Explain This Nightmare Screenshot from Google Webmaster Tools?
Your Next Dress (http://dress.yournextshoes.com/) has been performing poorly in search for a long time. My theory is that Google's algorithm somehow thinks our content is poor, and that we're not ranking for that reason. While we have deleted hundreds of blog posts and improved plenty of others, our SEO has continued to tank and recently reached zero. We do not have a manual penalty of any kind, though I've tried to disavow dubious looking links just in case. Is there anything that I am missing? 6p6IOIJ

Images in articles - copying the authority in my industry
Hello, For my site, BobWeikel.com, I have an article about the type of coaching I do. It's called "What is NLP?" Here's the link. The two authorities in my industry which I respect the most have no (or sometimes one) images or anything in their best articles - it's all just text. Some examples of these authoritative articles are here and here. Note the second article has one image in it. That's common for that author, and he's the top person in the field. Note that that first link has no images at all. I'd like to refine my article until I can compete. Should I leave out all images since that's what the big guys are doing? Thanks!

Help with HitTail
Does anyone else use HitTail? I am using it for a free trial at the moment. The idea was to get some keyword suggestions and write blog posts on these topics. My problem is that I am ranking on the top page sometimes spot 2 or 3 for the keyword terms that are being suggested, so what's the point? I don't see the point in writing for google searches in other countries so I delete them as it isn't an international business? Am I getting the most out of this or just missing the point?

Best Websites to help discover Topics
Hi I know I can use Twitter and latest posts on Google & Blogs, but I was wondering what are the best tools at the moment to use if you are looking to write about up to the minute information about a certain topic. Say the topic is London, is there a website or tag cloud to understand what people are saying about London right now? Anything better than Social Mention?

Can you use creative commons non-commercial images on a company blog?
Does anyone know if it is okay to use creative commons images on your company blog if they are under the Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 2.0 Generic license. Technically you are using it on a commercial site, but you are not directly making money from the image or selling it.

Wordpress Duplicate Pages/ URL's - Help !
Hi guys, I have been running SEOMoz for just over a month and slowly cleaning up one of my Wordpress Blogs. While going through the crawl reports I have noticed that I have duplicate pages showing on the crawl. For example, the main post would be; www.xxxxx.com/blog/post-title Then I see another URL which would be; **www.xxxx.com/blog/page/59 ** When I click on either URL it goes back to the actual post title URL. What's with these page URL's ? Isn't these two URL's showing duplicate content to the search engines ? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
