50% Visibility drop following June 2021 Google Update
-
Hello everyone,
We've observed a 50% drop in our Visibility score in the last week. This is our biggest drop ever, which coincides with June Google updates. We're an established ecommerce website located in Canada. This has obviously severely impacted sales. I'm frantically searching for information regarding fixes / implementations to recover asap, but if anybody could point us in the right direction, that would be hugely appreciated.
Thanks!

Thank you for taking the time to provide insight, opinions and suggestions.
Everything seems to be pointing to Web Core Vitals. Both the Desktop and Mobile ones are sub-par.
We are putting an emphasis on getting these improved asap and hope that this will fix the SEO dropped we've observed.

@yacpro13 50% drop is very severe. There can be multiple causes of this, and it is quite possible that this has been caused by June / July Google algo update.
Since both updates have been related to Core Web Vitals, I suggest to take it as the first assumption. To investigate this, please take a look a the Core Web Vitals tab in Google Search Console, especially the mobile tab. Also, check a few sample pages from your competitors using PageSpeed Insights, and see how your pages compare to others in Google SERP. If your CWVs are failing for your top traffic generating pages, this would be the first thing to fix.
Other possible causes to look for are connected to your site's performance.
Some of the most common causes to check:- robots.txt blocks, noindex meta tags and x-robots-tag headers.
- server side rendering - check a sample of pages in Google Search Console, and check out the cached version of your pages, in "Inspect URL".
- check googlebot logs, and see if there are any anomalies - eg. a lot of 5xx or 4xx errors when Googlebot tries to access your pages.
Wishing you luck in this investigation, and let me know how it turns out. I am very curious what is the real cause of such a heavy drop.

@yacpro13
The June update has so many changes check your site speed but also read about the update. Remember that the July update is still happening (there are two core updates happening.Check for no index pages & check Google search console for pages excluded from the index. Under coverage.
I would happy to take a look.

Can't get Google to index our site although all seems very good
Hi there, I am having issues getting our new site, https://vintners.co indexed by Google although it seems all technical and content requirements are well in place for it. In the past, I had way poorer websites running with very bad setups and performance indexed faster. What's concerning me, among others, is that the crawler of Google comes from time to time when looking on Google Search Console but does not seem to make progress or to even follow any link and the evolution does not seem to do what google says in GSC help. For instance, our sitemap.xml was submitted, for a few days, it seemed like it had an impact as many pages were then visible in the coverage report, showing them as "detected but not yet indexed" and now, they disappeared from the coverage report, it's like if it was not detected any more. Anybody has any advice to speed up or accelerate the indexing of a new website like ours? It's been launched since now almost two months and I was expected, at least on some core keywords, to quickly get indexed.

Have we been hit by an update?
Hi Everyone : ) We have an E-commerce website has been getting less and less organic traffic each month since October 2015 after it had received a massive spike overnight! I can't see any logical reason for it or find any updates that would have caused this. Have anyone got an idea? I know I am not giving much information out but wondered if anyone else had seen a similar issue. aZ7F6YA

Google Panda - large domain benefits
Hi, A bit of a general question, but has anyone noticed a improvement in rankings for large domains - ie well known, large sites such as Tesco, Amazon? From what I've seen, the latest Panda update seems to favour the larger sites, as opposed to smaller, niche sites. Just wondered if anyone else has noticed this too? Thanks

Did The Last Google Algorithm Update, Hit sites with poor anchor text?
My content is quite strong within my niche, so I ranked well, but last month my rankings plummeted. On closer examination and scrutiny I discovered my anchor text needed updating. Has anyone else seen this happening in the last four weeks?

Proper Way To Submit A Reconsideration Request To Google
Hello, In previous posts, I was speaking about how we were penalized by Google for unnatural links. Basically 50,000 our of our 58,000 links were coming from 4-5 sites with the same exact anchor text and img alt tags. This obviously was causing our issues. Needless to say, I wen through the complete link profile to determine that all of the links besides this were of natrural origins. My question here is what is the accepted protocol of submitting a reinclusion request; For example, how long should it be? Should I disclose that I was in fact using paid links, and now that I removed (or at least nofollowed) them? I want to make sure that the request as good as it should so I can get our rankings up in a timely manner. Also, how long until the request is typically aknowledged? Thanks

Google and Wikipedia
Ok, I love Wikipedia as much as the next guy but the amount of weight that google puts on this site is getting crazy. My search terms that I am going after are "speakers" and "loudspeakers" Can somebody tell me why wikipedia needs the top 8 -10 spots for those terms? is that really a good search result for users of google? More of a rant then a question I know. I just needed to get that off my chest!.
