Unsolved Can Moz integrate GA4 data?
-
With the new GA4 coming out in 2023, can our Moz accounts connect to the new GA4 property?
-
@Tom-Capper The integration is everything because it allows us (agencies) to have all the high-level metrics, at-a-glance on one report. I can definitely get the acquisition info from GA, but to have it on the report that we send to the client, makes the Moz report a one-stop shop experience. That's what sets Moz apart from Ahrefs and SEM Rush, etc. Did this answer the question?
Speaking of which: It would be amazing if we could have "seats" that were limited to specific campaigns and read-only. This would allow agencies to give their clients a login where they can see everything we see, but not change anything. In fact, this would eliminate the need for the reports, which we send them on a monthly basis. This would raise the agency's service value immensely, and therefore...Moz's
As for Search Console, it shows keywords that are no on the Moz Opportunities list because it shows keywords that are locally ranked high, and those that are ranked way down in position, which is helpful, because if a high CTR keyword is ranking in position 89, we can work on that to bring it up.

@bizmarquee Thanks! This is really useful.
Can you elaborate a bit on what you're getting out of the Moz GA integration that you're not getting out of GA itself - is it keyword-centric views?
Similarly, what metrics are you comparing between Moz and Search Console?
-
@Tom-Capper The GA integration is vital on the reports. We like to show our clients how their Organic traffic stacks up against other methods of acquisition. For example, we've had clients using Pay per Click and then hired us to increase their organic presence, and by the GA integration on the reports we are able to hold accountable the organic traffic cannibalizing the PPC traffic.....or not. Either way, it's the first real proof of the effectiveness of the SEO campaign.
I read above that Search Console might be included, and that would be invaluable. Currently, myself and my team use both Moz Keyword Opportunities and Search Console because they have different results. All in one place would be amazing.

Sorry for the slow reply, but apologies - nothing we can share publicly right now.
Still interested in any background you can provide your intended use of the integration, and what matters most to you, that we can keep in mind for our testing, of course.
-
@Tom-Capper Curious on any updates on this front. I have a client that uses only GA4, and I'd love to take advantage of a Moz integration when it available. Any chance there is a beta group I can participate in?
-
Yes, we're anticipating Universal Analytics will be deprecated. And of course we'll make sure we're ready for that - we'll likely replace with GA4, Google Search Console, or both, but we're trying to understand how users are using these integrations, and what they value from them.
Hence, any comment or colour you can provide is much appreciated, and can be added to our existing research! Is it custom dashboards for organic traffic, for example? Or do you like that you can see other channels on the campaign home screen? Would you prefer if conversions were there too? That sort of thing.
-
@tom-capper I understand Universal is disappearing next year. We need traffic data, what would you provide if Universal goes away and you don't have GA 4?
-
Hi!
This is something we're actively considering - we may make some other improvements or changes to our data integrations at the same time.
Speaking of which - I'd love to know how you make use of the GA integration. Any feedback might help to set our course

ga4 workaround?
I switched to GA4 but because I also turned off UA, Moz traffic analysis is now flatlining. Whatʻs the workaround here?

Making the change to GA4?
We have a few clients we routinely do SEO work for, and we have campaigns set up for them here. However, with the change to GA4, how is that going to impact those campaigns? How do we make that switch? Where do we go for that? And how do we set up future campaigns for GA4? Right now it looks like the only option is still for UA, but the switch happens in less than three months, which is a little unnerving.

GA 4 Question
What differences are you typically seeing in Google Analytics 4 compared to UA? For one site I have, UA says there were 2,342 new users. GA4 says there were 1,899 new users for the same time period. Does that seem like a normal amount of difference between the two platforms?

Unsolved Google Analytics (GA4) recommendations for SEO analysis?
Guides on Moz and elsewhere mostly refer to Google Analytics' Universal Analytics (UA). However, UA is being replaced with GA4, and the interface, options, and reporting are very different. Can you recommend a clear, thorough, and effective walkthrough of how to set up useful SEO reports in GA4? Is there a simple tool you recommend that will help connect historical data from UA to GA4 when GA4 is the only option available? If there's no simple tool, what values do you recommend retaining from UA for effective historical reporting? How would you use them? At minimum for reporting, I'd want to show month-to-month changes and year-to-year changes (in percentages and in real numbers) for the following: all site visits all organic visits organic visits as a percentage of all site visits organic visits that led to a specific goal completion organic visits that led to any goal completion Thanks in advance for your help!

Why didn't the Moz rankings change yesterday?
As of this morning, the Domain Authority section on our campaign still reads: "Next scheduled update: Jan 25, 2017 PST" and nothing has changed - it is still showing our old DA and how much it went up since last time. Is this a problem on our end, or is Moz experiencing difficulties with DA updates? Thanks in advance!

How can I retrieve an old account that isn't in the archive?
I had a few highly detailed MOZ campaigns over a year ago. We stopped paying and now that we've logged back in to the same account, there's not even anything in the archive. Is there any way to retrieve the old campaigns associated with this account?

Moz Netiquette
It's now happened three times in three days: I get unsolicited email (apparently harvested from my Moz profile) that invites me to try a new product or contribute to a new site. The senders are completely unknown to me. The emails are full of hype, sketchy on details and poorly written. They have all the hallmarks of phishing scams. But on further inquiry the emails seem to be legit. I nonetheless feel entitled to confess my extreme exasperation. When did sending unsolicited mass email of the "Dear Colleague" variety to perfect strangers become acceptable business practice? It's always struck me as being beyond the pale and beneath contempt. Why would anyone try to launch a business which such dubious and unsavoury tactics? Am I missing something here? Or becoming a fuddy duddy? I suppose I could remove my contact info from my MOZ profile, but I have found it useful in the past. What surprises me is that people would contact me "out of the blue" to ask for free help without making the slightest attempt to cultivate a relationship first. Am I wrong?
