I have some experience in successfully creating custom events for GA4 via Tag Manager, but I have one account where my events are firing in GTM but not showing at all in GA4 (not real time or anywhere). I have twice done them over and published my changes but still no luck. Any ideas what else the issue can be? There are no internal filters at the moment. Thank you.

If you've set up custom events in Google Tag Manager (GTM) and they're not showing up in Google Analytics 4 (GA4), here are a few simple steps to troubleshoot:

        Check Configuration in GTM:

Ensure that the tags and triggers for your custom events are set up correctly in GTM.
Verify that the triggers are firing as expected in the GTM preview mode.
        Preview Mode in GA4:

Use the preview mode in GA4 to check if the events are being received. Open your website, enable the GA4 preview mode, and see if events are triggered.
        Real-Time Events in GA4:

Check the "Realtime" section in GA4 to see if your events are showing up. Sometimes there might be a delay, so wait a few minutes after triggering an event.
        Check Debugging in GTM:

Use the GTM debugging console to check if there are any errors or issues when the tags are fired. Look for error messages that could indicate a problem.
        Tag Version and Publishing:

Confirm that the correct version of the GTM container is published. Sometimes changes might not take effect if the correct version is not published.
        Network Requests:

Use browser developer tools to inspect network requests. Look for requests to the GA4 endpoint and check if your events are included in those requests.
        GA4 Configuration:

Double-check your GA4 configuration to make sure you are looking at the correct property, and that the events are not filtered out due to any configuration settings in GA4.
        User Permissions:

Ensure that your GA4 user account has the necessary permissions to view the events. Check if there are any filters or settings restricting the visibility of events.
        Ad Blockers and Browser Extensions:

Some ad blockers or browser extensions may interfere with the tracking. Disable them temporarily to see if it makes a difference.
        Event Names and Parameters:

Ensure that the event names and parameters you are sending match the configuration in GA4. Mismatched names can lead to events not being recognized.
If after going through these steps, the issue persists, it might be helpful to consult the GTM and GA4 documentation for any specific known issues or troubleshooting steps related to your setup.

GA4 account & property not showing in traffic property setup list.

            ga4 traffic campaign settings

Hi there, I've connected multiple client accounts to GA4 already, but three of our accounts that we have administrator rights to in GA4 are not showing up in our selectable accounts/properties list when logged in via Moz to add to the traffic settings area. Anyone else have this issue and find a fix?

What's Causing My Extremely Low Bounce Rate

google analytics google tag manager bounce rate

My client's site that is reporting an under 10% bounce rate for all sources. Direct is the highest at 8%. I'm no expert in GA but wondering if there is a problem with the analytics/tag manager code on the site. I'm especially concerned about the GTM body script being in an iframe which I read could be trouble. <!-- Google Tag Manager (noscript) -->
            <noscript><iframe src="https://www.googletagmanager.com/ns.html?id=GTM-MWGMNW6"
            height="0" width="0" style="display:none;visibility:hidden"></iframe></noscript>

How does Google Maps/G+ traffic show up in Analytics?

Hi Moz Community, I've been trying to figure out how traffic from Google Maps (and G+) shows up in Google Analytics and am struggling to find a good answer online. If someone finds a business through Google Maps and then clicks on the website in the Maps listing, does that show up as a referral from Google Maps? Our site shows virtually zero traffic from Google Maps even though we have a number of listing. Two related questions: if someone clicks through to a G+ page from a Maps result and then visits our website from the G+ page, does that show up in Analytics as a referral from G+? Is traffic from Google Maps or G+ ALSO counted as organic traffic? (Would it be possible to accidentally double-count a visit as both organic and a referral from Maps/G+? Thanks everybody!

Google Analytics Goal/Event/SOMETHING to show only Wordpress "Posts", not pages, etc

Hi all, Our site is build on Wordpress and formerly the post URL's had the typical date format at the beginning. This made it easy for me to look at, for example, all search traffic to the blog. I would just view URL's containing /2014/ and /2015/ and boom. We have since removed the dates from the URL's with proper redirects etc, which is great, but now I can't figure out a way to look at ONLY the blog in GA. I like to track a KPI of 'search visits to blog posts' and I can't figure out how to now. Can I set up a GA event that only fires when the post type template for blog posts loads? Some other solution? I'm lost here, and there's gotta be a good way to do it...

Google Analytics shows most referrers as "Direct" -- What are some better tools?

Very often Google Analytics will show 50-90% of our referrers as (direct) which is not very helpful. Are there other tools out there that will provide a clearer breakdown of what other websites are sending us our traffic? Specifically, I want to be able to be able to tell who are the top traffic referrers to my top performing pages on my site for the last 30 days. (I want to be able to study this on a per-page basis.) Thanks in advance!

Google Analytics Showing Inflated Product Revenue

Hi- For the month of Feb on two of our sites we are seeing inflated product revenues. I have not seen this before and I am not having any luck searching for answers. Here is the issue: Product B sells for $159.95 For the month of Feb we sold 3 thus revenue should be ~$479.85 GA is showing Product B's revenue at $3,360.00 I read online that sometimes folks will bookmark the receipt page and that can cause this and we would need to put a catch in place for this but I am guessing this is not the case as it is happening on two sites. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Is there a way to use Google Analytics event tracking for YouTube embedded videos on my website?

Hello! I am trying to track different types of interaction on the YouTube for videos which are embedded on a website to measure the interaction on these video from my organic traffic.  Is there a good way to go about this with the code since these are coming from an iFrame on YouTube?  Would appreciate any feedback or help on implementing the event tracking with YouTube videos. Many thanks!

How do shortened links show up in Google Analytics?

Hey, How do shortened links show up in GA? So if I tweet about something and use bitly, does twitter get the referral? I am thinking not. I have never seen bitly show up as a referrer, but we gets lots of clicks from those links. Hmmmm. Anyone? E
