Rankings failure?
-
The rankings for all our keywords, and for our competitors as well as us, according to SEO moz have all but completely dropped off the radar.
For the vast majority of the keywords, both us and our competitors are showing as not even in the Top 50, despite previously being top 20, first page and top 3 for a large number of them.
What's happened? Would this be due to Google, or has some sort of error occurred seoMoz's end?
The rankings have dropped so badly for all four websites I can't believe for a second they're real.
Thanks.

Hi Andy,
We saw some temporary issues with Google.co.uk last week but everything should be good for your latest rankings update. If you experience issues in the future please write into help@seomo.org using the email associated with your account so that we can assist you further.
I'm so sorry about the inconvenience but everything should be back to normal now.

There's a great tool you can get for firefox that gives you the position in the top 200 ranking results for whatever your keyword is... http://tools.seobook.com/firefox/rank-checker/
You can change localisation options and check rankings on demand in all the major search engines. For times when a weekly top 50 check isn't enough then it's a great little tool to have
-
Check your analytics, if your traffic hasn't dropped significantly then it's the tool. Also, as mentioned manually check your rankings.
Also do a google trademark search for your domain to see if the site is not penalized itself. Just go to google.com and type in the name of your domain with everything stripped away for example if your site is:
http://www.mygreatsite.com then go to goole and type in "mygreatsite"
If you're not in the top results your site may have a trademark suppression. Or you can use an online Google penalty tool checker but no guarantee that that tool isn't broken as well

We had the same issue last week - seems to have been resolved now, but was a bit terrifying for a while! Would have been nice if there had been some kind of announcement concerning the problem.
-
Hi Andy,
well, they should know about it: http://www.seomoz.org/q/pro-dashboard-rankings-report-not-accurate-for-the-uk
And though back then I did not have any issues, I am having issues with our German / Austrian / Swiss rankings this week. I would still advise you to open a ticket, so SEOmoz see that many people are affected and it might also help them to sort the issue out, if they get more information.
-
As I thought then. I guess it's fair enough they've got a problem, but some sort of announcement, possibly via email, wouldn't have gone too far amiss! Assuming they know about it.
Thanks.

A lot of people are having issues with the SEOmoz rank tool at the moment.
Double check your rankings manually and if they're fine assume it's the tool.

Is a new website the only way to get better rankings?
Our website is https://www.franklin-bell.com.au. For a while now we've been trying to get a few of our pages on there to get a better rank on google. A local SEO agency told us that some of our pages are not like "the modern standard" for web pages, but our page score for the keywords we want is 90% and higher. Do we really need to completely rebuild the website (it was built in 2014) in order to get better rankings? Or is it sufficient to have the 97% page score and then just get some back links and social media referrals etc. Thanks in advance.

A keyword my site ranks on has recently dropped from no 2 to 51+ after weeks ranking high.
Any ideas? The full SERP analysis still puts it at no 2 so I'm quite confused

Is it possible to track rank history
I would like to know is it possible to track a keywords past ranking history? We would like to check the ranking history of some potential vendors, but only get data from the point I add them to Alabs, moz etc. Id like to go back a year to see the trend in their rankings. Is this possible and what tool or process can be used to achieve this. Thanks in advance.

Yo-Yo-ing rankings - what's going on?
I'm getting a little fed up and exasperated - if I'm honest! Our seoMoz rankings are yo-yoing on a weekly basis - extremely. One week we're in the top 3, the next week, we're not in the top 50. The week after that, we're back in the top 3. Then we're outside the top 50 again. I understand rankings go up and down sometimes - but this is every week, without fail. Not only that, but I also check my rankings with cuteRank and Firefox's Rank Checker and while those rankings are consistent with each other - seoMoz's rankings are always different and the only ones that Yoyo. Further, it's not just our rankings that Yoyo - it's those of our competitors too. They follow the same pattern except that when we go up, they go down, and vice versa, I'm just a little lost and unsure what to do, and I can't believe really that this is a true reflection of what is happening to us on Google every week. I know rankings change but surely Google aren't throwing us around like this? It is making doing any SEO on the site impossible because I never know where I stand. Any ideas or help would be wonderful. Thanks.

How to see rankings for a group of keywords over time?
I have around 1200 keywords in an seomoz campaign, chopped into various groups using labels. I am interested in tracking how keywords perform over time, especially groups of keywords. As far as I can tell, in the seomoz tools I can only see historical performance for a single keyword at a time. Is there a way to get a historical performance graph of more than one keyword at once? We often run optimizations for sets of words, so it seems like you would have better stats looking at groups of words vs picking one at a time. Is there a way to export historical data for more than keyword at a time? (So I could graph and analyze this sort of thing myself) Does anyone have other suggestions for tracking rankings in this way? Thanks for any help!
