Similar Keywords/Different Pages
-
My question is about my content strategy regarding keywords and page creation. For this example I will use the following keywords:
"widget financing"
"widget leasing"
"widget loans"
"thingy financing"
"thingy leasing"
"leasing loans"
"whatchamacallit financing"
"whatchamacallit leasing"
"whatchamacalit loans"
You get the idea. Now I have created a separate page for each of these keywords. There are about 70 keywords and their respective pages. Although all of these describe the same thing I have re-written each page. In other words I didn't use the same content and just substituted the keywords. Each page is roughly 200 to 500 words. I do rank very well for most of these keywords.
I would post some of the pages from my site here but I didn't know if that is frowned on.
My fear/concern is will I get in trouble in a "post Panda" world.
Again, the pages rank very well I just want to be in good graces with Google going forward.

Also.. If each of your pages is receiving a fair amount of traffic through organic search, then again it's less of a problem. If people are clicking through to your site and landing on those pages (without an excessively high bounce rate) then this should signal to google that those pages are proving relevant to your visitors.

Hmmm, it's a tough one to call. Your pages are working fine for you at the moment so I'd probably be hesitant to change anything, however...
Although you have re-written the content, they each contain a similar link structure (e.g. all pointing to the same application form) and contain the same Youtube video link for example, so I wouldn't put it past an algorithm update to pick up on this, notice the similarities and frown slightly on it.
I suppose the 'correct' way in google's eyes would be to create a single (or just a few), rich content page(s) that offer fresh relevant content on each and lists all the types of truck that you can provide finance for and focus your efforts onto this/these few pages. This would make the page(s) relevant and there would be no irrelevant or duplication issues - but this would be time consuming and more than likely negatively affect your keyword rankings in the short term at least.
If I were you I would be hesitant to change something that is currently proving effective in your particular keyword niches until you actually notice a ranking drop, but others may offer a different opinion. You may just want to enrich the content further on your existing pages and try and make them stand out as being necessary. Perhaps put a bit more information about dump trucks on the dump truck page and a recent piece of news about semi trucks on the semi truck financing page - this would then differentiate the pages from each other more.
Try taking a look at these links for some tips and help;

Jason,
If you're currently ranking well after several panda updates, then it's probably not a problem and as long as each page is written well and offers quality content, then it should keep the panda happy.
However posting your pages isn't frowned upon, in fact it's probably encouraged so that the Mozzer's can answer your question better.
If you can give some example pages, it would probably help answer your question more appropriately

Question about creating content pages for keywords
Good morning, We are trying to rank our India based company which provides the following services
On-Page Optimization | | harshal.khatavkar
Engineering Design Services
Architectural Design Services
MEP Design Services Our target audiences are in the US and UK. Offcource, we are targetting above services keywords on most of our main pages and created dedicated services pages too. But lately, we found out that we are ranking well for keywords like Outsourcing Engineering Design Services, Outsourcing Architectural Design Services, etc... which are actually very very good keywords in terms of closing the leads/inquiries as people are actually looking out for outsourcing but the search count for those keywords is low. (though we closed 2 inquiries from those keywords). These pages we created in past just to increase the content of the website. I really want to give it a try to target those keywords by creating more pages, blog posts, backlinks, etc... My question is if we create more and more pages around those keywords then will it affect the rankings of the pages which are already ranking for those keywords or will the new pages compete against those pages or the new pages will help to boost current pages? We can write good content and blog posts on the outsourcing topic but not sure if we should create new pages or increase the length of the existing pages. Can you guys please help with some directions on this as I really don't want to take the wrong route. Look forward! Regards0 -
Is it better to keep a glossary or terms on one page or break it up into multiple pages?
We have a very large glossary of over 1000 industry terms on our site with links to reference material, embedded video, etc. Is it better for SEO purposes to keep this on one page or should we break it up into multiple pages, a different page for each letter for example? Thanks.

Home page keyword in url
I have been looking into SEO for a few weeks now trying to perfect a homepage. Going through various sources on MOZ, and other examples out there on the internet, I keep seeing that you should have your keyword in the URL of the page. The homepage is the page most people want to rank the highest in google searches, however, you cannot put the keyword in the URL as most home page URLs are simply /. Should I actually make the home like this: www.example.com/key-word-example? I would imagine this would not be the normal for many users and would seem like it's not the home page.

If Two Internal Pages Rank for a Given Keyword, Are They Competing?
Let's say I'm a house painter working out of offices in Boston and Springfield. When I search for "Boston house painter" or "Massachusetts house painter," both my homepage and my Boston office page come up #8 and #9. That's good, sorta (2 results on first page), but I'd trade that scenario for a single result in the top 3. How likely is it that these two page are competing? If I removed the Boston page, would the homepage rank better? Or should I be happy I have two pages turning up the the first SERP? Any thoughts here appreciated. Thanks!

Question Re Cornerestone Page And Anchor Text For Internal/External Links
Suppose I create a cornerstone page with the targeted keyword "Dog Collars". I write a dozen articles on various dog collars and point a link from each article to my cornerstone page. Should the anchor text for the links from each of those articles to the cornerstone page be "Dog Collars" or should they vary, but still be relevant to "Dog Collars" for best SEO? Should half of them be "Dog Collars" and the other half various? Also, if I have 12 articles and all of the anchor text is already "Dog Collars", should I go back and change them so that they all don't say the same thing? If hope my question makes sense ... thanks in advance. I will give thumbs up for helpful responses and suggestions 😉

KeyWord Density?
What is an acceptable density for a keyword? It's wise to push it as close to spam without sacrificing user experience, correct? I read an article on SeoMoz (outdated I think) that mentioned 6%. If it's a keyword phrase, do you have to make sure you don't go over the density level of a particular word in the phrase. If it's a three word phrase, do you have to not use any one word more than X% or just monitor the exact keyword.
