Quora links in answers are marked nofollow, so they do not pass link juice nor any direct SEO benefits. I searched dozens of questions trying to find one with a link posted in the actual question but I could not find an example. Most likely, links in questions have the nofollow tag applied as well.

Indirect SEO benefits may be obtained any time someone is talking about your site, your products or services. Brand recognition increases which is almost always a good thing. Some SEOs theorize nofollow links may help your overall link profile by providing a broader link base.

Redirect social media links to https?

Hi fellow SEO-ers! One of the sites I'm responsible for uses a Twitter or Facebook feed on most of their pages, next to their unique content. As the tweets (twits?) and comments in some of these feeds are old, they still refer to the old Twitter and Facebook-domains using http (instead of https). These links are all automatically 301-redirected, but still make up ca. 9% of the links on the site. Do you think that this affects SEO? I doubt it, because I suppose that Google has seen this many times and understands that these links are still pointing to the same content. Although my client is prepared to write a script to auto-update all these links, I think it won't make a difference. What do you think? Thanks for your feedback!

Add Tracking Parameters to Website Links on Facebook/Twitter

does anyone know of a way to add tracking parameters to facebook/twitter website links in the about us section so that we can understand what traffic is specifically coming from that page? I already add tracking to posts, but I am more trying to track each standard link on these social channels. I am currently running into character limits or the result looks like a long url that will most certainly deter clicks because it looks suspicious.

Trying to link a Legacy Youtube account to a Google+ Page, the option isn't available...

Hello,
I am working on one of my clients projects and would love some advice before making some changes to their Google+ and Youtube account. We created the youtube account before Google+ and Youtube combined so we have a seperate name for the Youtube and Google+ Profile. They were created using separate emails, but both emails are managers of each others "account." We can't combine the two as it won't give me the option, only the option to create a new Youtube channel based on the Google+ Profile. But I already have videos loaded up on the Older Channel that I would like to keep and use for my current Google+ Profile. I have tried to disconnect the Youtube channel to hopefully get the option to link the two, but it just says it is a unavailable option. So my question is:
What advice do you guys have with any of this type of Youtube and Google+ mismatch profile/channels? I am not finding much online besides links to unattaching accounts but that is giving me a message saying that it isn't possible. Or would creating a new channel linked to the Google+ page and just reuploading the videos/transcripts be my best bet? Thank you for your feedback, and if you want anymore details (I know this description when not looking at the accounts might not be enough info, feel free to ask.) I really appreciate it. J

SEO wise - what is the impact of Avatar on a blog

Hi all, At the moment we are at the verge of building finally a blog. For SEO purpose I demanded that it would include social interactions with Google+, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and some more. Especially Google+ for the authorship part. But now they come asking me if they can work with Gravatar http://www.gravatar.com/support/what-is-gravatar/ - a Globally Recognized Avatar. I never worked with it before and can't find anything if it will negatively impact SEO on authorship - but I'm still not sure. Does the Gravatar interfer with Google+ authorship?
I could find information about having to setup the author part in the Gravatar, but this doesn't give me the answer if this helps with Google+. If anybody has experience of can tell me / point me in the right direction it much appreciated. Or maybe having a better solutions than the Gravatar.

Linked in Company Profile

Hi, One of our client has a linked in Profile. He set up with his own company email address and he needs to add ma a user so i can update the profile. However, we just couldn't figure out how to do this. I have an email address with the company's url and added it on my profile. I 'liked' the company but i still cannot figure out how i could add my self. I can't login with client's email address as it is also his own linked profile. I was wondering if anyone knows how to do this? Thank you

Good idea to include links in Facebook posts teaser-text?

Hi guys, I'm wondering; is it a good idea (for the engines primaliry) to include links with targeted keywords in facebook posts. From a user perspective I would say it's not desirable. But I'm wondering how Google and co treat links which they find there. They are nofollowed, yes. They are indexed however but when I want google to show me the text-only version of the cached page I receive an 404 error which is odd. Anybody else getting the 404 from google? Do facebook shares of deep links help the whole domain rank better?

What i mean by this is if we were to obtain 10-20 facebook shares for 10 different deep links like these: http://domain.com/deep-page/page-one
http://domain.com/deep-page/page-two
http://domain.com/deep-page/page-three
http://domain.com/deep-page/page-four
... Would that help any of these rank better:
http://domain.com
http://domain.com/product1
http://domain.com/product2
etc... Extrapolating, does the same count for Twitter, Google+, etc?
