Is article spinning necessary?
-
Say I create my own original content for my website.
If I want to build backlinks and promote to web 2.0 websites, do I need to spin my articles to submit to them or can I just send them a direct copy?
-
The question you maybe need to ask is 'Should I submit my articles to article directories in the first place". Many on here will tell you the answer is no, that you should put the content on your own website and not on another website at all.
-
Cool, that's what I needed to know. So in essence I don't need to spin my articles. Yay.
-
Article spinning is terrible. As is anything that adds pointless content to the web. My mantra is to only add content that is valuable to a user or users somewhere. Take Marcus' advice.
-
As Marcus said, it seems to me that content spinning is one of blackhat attitudes, so normally it should be avoided by any SEOs. This can cause serious Panda penalties in the future!
-
Is article spinning necessary? Absolutely not! What are you trying to do? Build a reputation for putting out weak and near duplicate content? Pick up a panda penalty?
Can we see through the question you originally posed and find out what the real question or problem is? Do you need links? Then create great content that people want to link to! If you want to build some general purpose links then write some (original) articles and stick them up at places that will get you quick easy links. Ezinearticles.com, hubpages, squidoo etc will allow links with anchor text for some easy wins but don't make that the backbone of your strategy.
Ultimately, if you want to promote your website with content, then your best bet is to become socially active in your topical area, make friends and see if you can guest post with some kick ass articles on their sites.
If you want to spin articles, you are swimming upstream as everything Google is about at the moment is eradicating weak and thin content from the web so please, for your own sake, don't do that.

New Links in Old Articles
We have recently launched a new website for a brand that always existed in our company, but never had its own website. Now I'm looking to increase it's organic visibility. We had quite a few links coming into our other sites, when in fact they would be more relevant to our new site. The only things is I found a really good one from 2012 - what would be your thoughts on asking the author to change the link? How would Google view? Would I damage the organic visibility of the site it is currently linking to? Thanks, Brian

What should I look for when choosing a good article directory for SEO purposes?
I have been writing SEO content for blogs for the past year or so, but I am fairly new to article directories. With SEO in mind, what makes a particular article directory valuable? Currently I'm using EzineArticles and Squidoo; I liked Ezine in particular because of their thorough review process. I saw that recently Squidoo also amped up their checks for original content as a result of Google's stricter policies. I was interested in using HubPages also since they are good about reviewing content. I'm just curious how much factors like this reflect on an article directory SEO-wise. Are there any additional factors that set a a good article directory apart?

Smashing Magazine SEO article today: Question about a few things in it...
First off, here is the link - http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2012/06/28/content-creators-benefit-from-new-seo/ Right, Number 5 and particularly this part: 'Quick tip for creatives: Set up a personal Google+ profile and incorporate the rel=author link into your published content. (Instructions on how to do this are provided in the next section.)' Create a personal Google+ profile page with a high-quality headshot; Validate your email address; In the byline of any content that you create, set the anchor text to be your name as it appears in your Google+ profile, and link to your profile with a URL that looks like this:https://plus.google.com/102318046680468697385?rel=author. When your content is published, link back to its URL from the “Contributor to” section of your Google+ profile. So lets say you got a Google+ profile, you got a guest post going out on a Auth website, in the byline you have an anchor text link (which is your profile name) and your linking to your profile page. The guest post goes up, you go into your Google+ profile and link to the guest post through 'Contributor to'. How does this benefit your websites rankings? The only thing I can see it benefiting is the blog the guest post is on??

How to find article sites that will be very picky
I'd like to write good, unique content, and one of the places i was looking at was article repositories. I do understand that most of them have been spammed to death, but I was wondering how I would go about finding ones that would accept my article. I do realize that niche news/forum/informational sites are probably my best bet. Beyond that, would would be a step down or a 'general' article directory where I could get something approved and post content that is high quality. I'm not sure I have time to go around to every niche site and make the handshakes necessary at this time.

UK article websites
Hello world 🙂 I'm looking for good UK article websites that are allowing anchor text links. Something like Ezine Aticles ... I found the SEOMoz 400top directories, but I'm searching for something that will give to me anchor text links. It doesn't matter if the directories have strict moderation, actually it's better, I'm not using spinner or anything similar. Thanks.

I have a really good article, now what?
Hi guys, New guy to SEO and new site, need some help. I've got a really good article (Deal Guide: How to Pay $50/mo (or nothing) for Unlimited Everything on AT&T), a few days old and it's already going viral on StumbleUpon and is getting shared on Facebook and Tweeted. My question is, now what? What can I do to boost it's value? I feel like I should be doing something to further push my article and build recognition for my new website. Should I run a Facebook sponsored story and further increase "likes" and shares? Blog/Forum commenting? I've done a little bit of this but there's so many iPhone 4s articles out there, that I don't know where to start. Should I be hitting the high PR pages? How can I find out if comments are follow/no-follow? Any other ideas?
