What is the best seo software?
-
This question is in relation to doing site audits and creating branded reports for clients. Do seo agencies create there own software or do you use one that is accessible for all?
Also what do you think is the best general seo software?
-
I would prefer SEOMOZ for their MozRank and Competitor Analysis.
Other tools i have used are MajesticSEO and SEOGix.

Just had a look at Power Mapper Sitesort and seems good. Would be interested to see what people think of this?
A one off cost of £239 look good value for unlimited usage...
-
Do you send out your seomoz reports to your clients?

HI Dan
Thanks for these recommendations I will check them out.
It would be good to hear your other thoughts you have about seo in general.
How you get your data and the techniques you use to help your clients
Thanks again

Maybe I am wrong, but I think with SEmoz, the $199 monthly accunt will let you do what you like...

Hi
Someone recently showed me Power Mapper Sitesort. I have not personally used it. But he ran a full audit right in front of me, and it looks pretty powerful. Its $150-$500 though.
In general I love SEOmoz's suite of software. For an audit you may want to try their Crawl test
And real nice to have for an audit is Screaming Frog. Free up to 500 pages, then you have to pay for larger sites.
Depending on the site, I generally use a mix of tools to pull together the info needed, and get it into a mix of excel, word or powerpoint, depending on how its going to be presented.

Latest Info-graphic Best Practices
This is a good "problem" to have. My client is a consortium of web companies. It has just produced a terrific info-graphic on the the latest European data policies. The author is a leading lawyer in the field and the content is outstanding, authoritative, and current. The issue is how to best use the info-graphic for both SEO and general marketing purposes. We will publish the info-grahic on our own site. But what else should we do? (1) The info-graphic already contains the website name. Should we make this a hyperlink on our own site, with or without keyword rich text? (2) We can certainly do handcrafted outreach to likely sites, who might republish. Should we just ask them for backlinks and hope for the best? Or should we embed? (3) We can also send the info graphic as an Eblast to a wider list. Same questio:n Should we just ask them for backlinks and hope for the best? Or should we embed? The site already high DA and a diversified link portfolio. There is no need for risky tactics or "Hail Mary" passes. OTOH, it seems a pity not to make the most of this. Ideas on the above? Other thoughts?

What's an example of an SEO firm's site that lists their SEO packages excellently
Hello, I'd like to make a packages page on the site I'm still building bobweikelseo.com What's an example of a firm or SEO that lists their packages in a way that is appealing, useful, and all around excellent? I'm thinking of having a first package for analysis at $440, a second package for analysis and on-site SEO for $880, and a third package for analysis, on-site SEO, and link building for $2000-$4000/month depending on how fast they want the link building to go. Looking for some input on how to create a packages page, if my prices are appropriate (I want to be affordable), and an example of a website that does an excellent job at presenting their packages.

Where is my time best spent ?
Greetings, I am a new aspiring SEO for a niche market company I helped create. Both the company and website launched in 2007. From 2007 till mid March 2012, the website was amateur hour with no SEO whatsoever. I have spent years building social media profiles. In doing so I have built quite an online presence and created brand awareness. Therefore our domain has some authority and some inbound links. Since I started my first campaign on SEOMoz my organic search traffic has gone from around 0-5 hits to 35-50 hits a day in around 4 weeks. I have been submitting to directories that are targeted toward our niche market. I have contributed to community forum posts as well as talking to blog authors to write about our company and products, none of which seem to have any impact on our page or domain authority. If I am already ranking for 50% of my targeted keywords in one of the most competitive markets there is, with only very few links compared to my competition, would my time be best spent starting to work on inbound marketing strategies/link building (to build my domain and page authority) as opposed to outbound marketing, content building and UX? I know all is necessary, but the company really needs to start making some ROI. (So my position as a SEO doesn't get shelved and I can continue using tools like SEOMoz.) There are still some UX details we need to improve on the site (e.g., there are only product descriptions on half of our products on the new version of the site) but the product pages or categories the search traffic is landing on are all described (mostly) 😕 I guess my question to the community is, if you were in my shoes (the only person in the company who is somewhat savvy to any of this), on what would you focus your time? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Warmest regards, S&M Site contains adult content (NSFW)

How do you determine the level of an SEO
I wanted to know how others classify an individual in the industry. i.e. What makes an SEO beginner, intermediate or advanced? What skill set separates a pro from a newbie?

When will Rand put out "Art of SEO 2nd Edition"? (ANSWER: IN ABOUT 2 WEEKS)
First edition was printed in the end of 2009. Great Book. Needs updating of course. I would buy the next edition if it was updated in an awesome way that I know Rand and the others would do.
