What Facebook Content to Post
-
Hi,
Our website is
nlpca(dot)com
facebook page:
http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-NLP-Coaching-Institute-of-California/187804434598142
They recently added facebook. I told them for posting on the wall to do the following:
-
Identify your target audience, possible people to like us
-
Identify what they really really are searching for on Facebook and the web, and give it to them.
How could we improve on this strategy.
At first my boss wanted to post article sinippits and links to the articles, but I told him to create facebook content with the above (1) and (2) strategy
Your thoughts?

Never assume that you understand you audience.
You don't.
Learn from your audience.
Observe what they engage. Make note of it.
Observe what they ignore. Make note of it.
Give them more of what they want and less of what they don't... but don't bore them with repetition.
Never assume that you understand what they want... because they will want different things over time and as your audience changes.
Finally... It is possible that only a small group of your audience is your real target population. They are the important ones. Don't let single voices steer you - unless they are voices that you must heed or voices that give great advice.

Remeber you have to convert to sales, it is no use getting too far way from your end goal just to get exposure if you cannot convert it back to sales.
I am not a big believe in social media, i assume in certain industries it would be good, but in many industries iit just not what facebook users are looking for.

The suggestions you made are a good start, however why not something that involves humor in that field like a short comic strip. PICTURES have to have pictures of the people who work their, when they are working, when they are out and about. Pictures are critical for social media it tells the followers that the company is real and the people exist. Good luck on your quest good sir!

Best way to research the social potential of content (NOT just search potential).
I'm wondering if anyone in the community has found a good method for researching the social potential for content. I'll break down what I'm asking exactly so it makes more sense. In order for a page to get ranked highly on Google for a keyword it needs authority (usually). With social media having an ever increasing impact on the authority of content, creating content that has social value (shared, liked, talked about, etc) can really help increase the authority of that page in Google's eyes. In saying this if content is created that people search AND talk a lot about, it's authority will rise quickly, thus getting traffic through that keyword is easier and faster (not to mention your link building happens for you organically). I've formulated a pretty good keyword research process to find the search potential of creating content around that keyword; however I am looking at how to research the potential social value of content. I'm thinking the best way would be to crawl the social platforms and find trends in what people are talking about for the last x amount of time. Must be some patterns to look for in things like hashtags. At the end of the day I'd like to have content created based on both search keyword and social research. I'm looking for advice from people who have found a good way to do this social research on what they look for / what tools they use.

Social media profiles with same description - Duplicate content or reinforcing business details?
Hi, I am currently doing a Social media review and find myself wondering whether having exactly the same copy - or part thereof, on a businesses' Facebook, LinkedIn, G+, Twitter, profile(s) is likely to be viewed by SE's as a good or bad thing? Is it duplicate content and to be avoided? Or would it be viewed as a case of the business trying to ensure a consistent profile and therefore reinforcing your business details?

Facebook Spam - Suggestions?
We put a blog post up on our Facebook page earlier today. Within an hour, there were 560 likes and over 4,000 comments. While that sounds great, that is nowhere in the universe of normal. Almost all of that was spam (there were no services that we engaged in to bring likes/comments). So, has anyone else here been hit by rapid-fire Facebook spam? Any thoughts on what to do - leave it alone, delete the post, filters, etc.? Would love the advice of the Moz community. Thanks guys!

Publishing Content Through a Single Persona
Hi, I have a client who's made some changes to their content strategy. They want to use a single author for all content produced and publish, to maintain a consistent identity across the web. This single author is a persona e.g. "Joe Bloggs" but this is not a real person. This works fine for creating and publish content (for their blog and outside blog posts). It allows many people to work on creating and publishing content under the same name, which for a number of reasons makes good logistical sense. The problem arises when it comes to social marketing. They have set up a Facebook and Google + profile and Facebook and Google business pages. The main issue is that they are finding it difficult to friend other people because nobody knows this "Joe Bloggs" persona. Can anybody offer advise on how to approach this kind of strategy. Thanks,

How to best promote this content via social media to gain backlinks
I have created this content http://www.musicliveuk.com/live-music/the-worst-function-bands-and-wedding-bands-ever in order to promote it via social media. Ideally I want it to be shared across the web in order to gain backlinks. My question is how can I best do this? I know I can post it on twitter, facebook, google plus etc... but is that it? I'm new to social media and don't really understand how to use it to good effect. By posting it on social networking sites am I risking people copying the content and duplicate content penalties? Any help would be much appreciated!

Buying Facebook Shares?
Would it be considered buying links if you asked your Facebook fan base to share a specific product page, and by doing so they will be entered to win a drawing? How would Google look at this? And could we expect a significant increase in rankings as a result? Or would it just be a temporary "what's trending?" boost you think?
