RE: Google Authorship v Product Rich Snippets
Rel=publisher is for brands, rel=author is for individuals. Google pulls author information from individual Google+ profiles. WMT content guidelines state that each profile should have a clear, recognizable headshot of the author. Hope that helps.

Hi Dmitri, have you checked out the list of companies officially endorsed by Moz? I do not see anyone on the list based in Ontario, but many of these companies work with clients around the globe

RE: Can you use the image description for IMG ALT?
I would also encourage you to keep visually impaired users in mind, as alt-img tags (and contextual text) are how they determine what an image is. The screen reader skips over blank alt-img tags, and reads all others out loud.

RE: Multi page with title with same keywords
Hi there! Here's an article about solving keyword cannibalization issues (targeting multiple pages for the same keywords) that I thought you might find helpful. It's quite old, yet relevant to your situation - http://www.searchenginejournal.com/keyword-cannibalization-and-how-to-handle-it/8084/.
I also highly recommend reading Moz's Beginners Guide to SEO. Chapter Five is all about keyword research. Let us know how things go!

RE: In alt tag of a image can we use #hashtag or domain.com ? Is that good SEO or not allowed ?
It's also very important to accurately describe the image in an alt-image tags to give visually impaired users with screen readers a good user experience. Screen readers literally read what is inside the alt-img tags so that users know what the images that they cannot see (or see clearly) are about.

RE: Are H1 tags important or influential?
Unlike the title tag, including keywords in your H1 will not improve your rankings in the SERPs any more than placing keyword anywhere high up in the code will. That said, including a keyword in your H1 is great for usability, which can increase conversions. When a user clicks on a search result (which includes keywords in the title tag), it is reassuring to click-through to a page with the same keywords prominently displayed.
Marking up your HTML with header tags is also very important for communicating the organization of your page to screen readers, which are used by the vision-impaired to browse the web.

RE: Google authorship works on posts, but not on root domain.
Hi Andy, do you mean that you linked your website back to your personal Google+ profile with Rel=Publisher, and successfully verified it? I'm asking because I haven't heard of this actually working, as Google states Rel=Publisher is for brands, and Rel=Author is for, well, authors. I have only seen Rel=Publisher successfully used to associate a Google+ Page with a website, and Rel=Author successfully used to associate an author's content (on various websites/blogs) with their personal Google+ profile. Looking forward to hearing more about this from you! Thanks, Christy

RE: Google Authorship
And the rich snippets testing tool still shows that your authorship is verified for the pages that are showing in the SERPs?
If so, run through this checklist, posted in GWT Help: http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=1306778 and see if there is anything you might have overlooked (like installing Authorship code twice, this is a pretty common issue.) If you still don't see any issues there, you might try running a few different queries for different type of content you have verified Authorship for. Google states that they only show Authorship information for the most relevant queries. What they deem as the most relevant queries can and does change. I've noticed that my Authorship information/photo will show for some keyword searches and not appear for others (alongside the same pages in search results). Searching for the URL almost always shows information.

RE: Track Referral Visits on Facebook Fan Page
Hi Sachin,
Good news: Facebook Insights now offers limited data for referral traffic to your Page. To see how many visits (not unique visitors) were referred to your Page from outside Facebook, access Facebook Insights for your Page, then click on the "Reach" tab. Scroll to the bottom of the page, and you will see a list of websites that referred visits to your Page during the specified time period. This information, which also tells you how many visits came from each external website, is located under the "Visits to Your Page" graph in the "External Referrers" column.
Please take a peek at your Insights, and let us know how that works for you!
Cheers,
Christy

RE: Rel Author
The Rel Author tag is used to link content created by an individual (on a blog, for instance) to the author's personal G+ profile. Andy is correct, the author needs to specify in their G+ profile that they area contributor to the site (thereby linking back to the site where their content is) to complete the author verification process.
You should not use Rel Author in conjunction with Google Places.
Hope this helps!
